Great TV for displaying my own photography, but unfortunately the upload feature for adding my photos stopped working. So I have t been able to refresh the photos since the original upload.

I just love this TV. I am a first-time user of Samsung anything, but it has been fun to find "pictures" to display on the TV screen. You can also load your own photos to display. The TV takes up so little space, was easy to install and set up. I love the additional frame choices. Of course, my favorite costs a little bit more than the $99 ones, but it will add to the idea that if TV not in use I'll display a pretty hanging picture. The color and picture are crisp and clear. I'm going to get a sound bar because I think it will enhance the sound for movies and music.

    Connect box mis leading

The TV is of great quality by itself, however I did not realize that there are no plugs on the back of the TV all of the connections go into the one connect box and you need to find a place to put the box The box is the only power supply for the TV it sort of fell my plan for the use of the TV. All the photos are mis leading as they do not show the cord or the box. You can recess the box into your wall behind the TV if you want to add a recess.

I was blown away by the Samsung Frame TV! I've never seen a TV that looks and feels like a piece of art before. The sleek, slim design and minimalist frame make it blend seamlessly into my living room decor. The picture quality is stunning, with vibrant colors and crisp details that make it feel like you're right there in the action.

I love it! My wife didn't want a TV in this particular room, but she is OK with the frame, it looks like art especially when you surround it with other art. The wire was easy to hide and plenty long enough to distance the box from The Frame. I refuse to pay for the art subscription but with Smart Things you can use your own artistic images. The only slight weakness is the sound, but it is a good compromise.

We love the way this TV looks in our living room. It’s the perfect size and the matte display is great if you are putting it somewhere that gets sun. The display makes it so that you don’t get a glare on the TV. This TV definitely comes with its quirks and if you aren’t used to using it there’s a learning curve but it works great! The sales associate at Best Buy recommended a sound bar but honestly the sound is great without it as well.

Overall, this is an impressive device and I'm happy with my purchase. I can have all the lights on in the room with bright, direct sun coming through big windows. There won't be a single reflection anywhere on the screen. The result is that art (especially paintings) look like they're on a canvas. Several guests have not been able to tell it was a TV when in art mode. High-resolution photographs on the other hand look almost "hyper-real", because no canvas print could ever match the resolution achieved on the screen. The result is always beautiful. The viewing experience as a TV is also comfortable and enjoyable *during* the viewing.

The Samsung Frame TV is a visually striking addition to any home decor. Its ability to seamlessly blend in with its surroundings and transform into a piece of art in Art Mode is truly impressive. While it comes at a premium price, the vibrant picture quality and innovative design make it worth considering for those who value both aesthetics and functionality. To enhance the audio experience, you might want to pair it with a soundbar for a more immersive setup.

    Outstanding for display of art

I don’t use this display for gaming or hi res movies. It hangs over the fireplace as a focal point displaying art and used for viewing the occasional cable TV shows. My first experience was a defective display with a wide vertical stripe which was most likely a backlight LED failure. Best Buy replaced as soon as possible with no issues. My experience with the replacement has been very good. Artwork displayed on this is outstanding and the close wall mounting and white bezel work well to hide the fact this is a tv display. A service provider came to my house and said “… is that a tv? Wow.” I have to report the motion sensor doesn’t. When you read the online manual there are all kinds of disclaimers. Basically, it can’t be counted on to work at all - although it has surprised us occasionally and blinked on or off. I would say if this is important to you then you will most likely be disappointed or dissatisfied. The night mode does, however, work well in my application. I can also report that YouTube reviews that deal with inconsistent lighting and calibration across the screen are probably accurate as I have noticed this on blank screen during setup. But when you see the Mona Lisa or Vincent’s Starry night, well, I was so impressed I couldn’t say it made a difference. All in all, for what this display was made to do I give it 4 stars. If the motion detector worked it would be 5.

    • Brand response from Samsung
      Posted .

      Bobk,

We appreciate you sharing your experience with inconsistent brightness and motion sensor performance. The motion sensor is located at the bottom of the TV. Do not block the sensor at the front of the TV. The motion sensor as well as the brightness and color tone of the screen can be affected. Some things to consider when using Motion Sensor:

      1) If the surrounding area is too dark or bright, the motion sensor may not work normally.
      2) The performance of the motion sensor may be affected by the installation environment (height, tilt, obstacles).
      3) If the clothes you wear or your skin color is similar to the surrounding shading, the motion sensor may not work properly.
      4) The TV responds to all visual changes around it (lights, displays, dogs, out-of-window changes, and other occurrences).
      5) You can adjust the response level by adjusting the sensitivity of the motion detector. Go to: Home > Left directional button > Art > Art Mode Options > Motion Detector

To address the brightness issue you're having, please do try disabling some of the TV's energy efficiency functions, as these will automatically adjust your picture and may cause your screen to appear brighter or darker than preferred.

Check to see if Contrast Enhancer has been enabled. This setting automatically adjusts your TV's brightness so the difference between bright and dark areas is not excessive. Go to: Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > Contrast Enhancer

If Contrast Enhancer hasn’t been enabled, please see if Brightness Optimization, Brightness Reduction, or Motion Lighting have been enabled and disable them.
      - Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Power and Energy Saving > turn off Brightness Optimization, Brightness Reduction, and Motion Lighting

Please also be sure your firmware is up to date with version 1304, as this includes various performance and picture quality updates. You can check this by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now

I hope these tips help. Should you need further assistance, please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link for:

I was told this wasn't the "best" picture, but if you like the "frame" part of it, it might be worth it. Well, I bought it anyway. And yes, it was VERY expensive. But it looks great, the frame feature is pretty cool as well. Whether it's as good as the best pictures I can't say. I do know that it is WAY bettr than my 10 year old HDTV. Except for the cost, I have absolutely no regrets.

Bought this so that it will act as a framed art on the wall when not in use. That aspect is SO COOL, I'm so happy to not be staring at a black screen. And the picture quality is fantastic. We had to figure out some settings that we not described correctly in the digital manual, that took at while, phone support could not figure it out. Another aspect we didn't consider is the narrow viewing angle, you must be sitting in front of it to watch, its really not viewable from the side. We've worked it out but folks should be warned - don't get this if you want to tilt the screen.

Love our new Frame. People are always a little wowed by the art display, and love the versatility. You can add your own or use their library, and access to the entire thing is really cheap. We almost enjoy it more than watching TV on it! The TV quality is still great. The matte look is nice, and we haven't been disappointed once in how anything looks. Speakers are as good as any modern TV, so not great but they work.

It seems to be a nice product but I find it very difficult to use the remote. Going online and looking up the user manual was not all that helpful. My son recently purchased 3 of the Frames and suspect when he comes to visit he maybe able to help. The people at Best Buy weren't much help either since no similar remote was available. Installation (hanging) was much easier than I thought it would be. Time will tell,
