I purchased this dryer from Best Buy, and everything Best Buy suggested for a proper installation, and scheduled them to deliver it and install it. Two men delivered it, and one came into the house to install it. Within a few minutes, he told me the part I ordered wasn’t long enough for installation, and I would need to go to the hardware store myself to purchase a longer part. I was confused and told him that this was the exact part that Best Buy recommended, and he replied that what Best Buy recommends is a universal suggestion and doesn’t always apply to each brand. This wasn’t making sense, but he insisted he could not install the dryer. I told him that the hardware store was just around the corner, and I could go there and back in 10 minutes with the longer part. He said that he needed to get to the next install and couldn’t wait. I asked if he could fit me back into his schedule before the end of the day, since It was still early and I was on the scheduled for proper installation and was hoping it would be completed that day. He told me, and I quote “I can come back after my shift ends, but that would be doing you a favor. What will you do for me in return?” I was completely taken aback and trying to wrap my head around the situation, and responded that I would call the hotline to reschedule the installation instead. I called Best Buy that same afternoon to inform them what happened. The Best Buy representative who answered was completely unhelpful and dismissive. He responded that he could not make assumptions about what the installer was thinking when he said that. I asked to speak to a manager and he told me that the only way I could speak to a manager was for him to submit a request form for one to call me, and it would take at least 4 hours for that call. I said yes, please do that. No one has called me back to follow up. I had also asked if they could send out a different installer that same day to complete the job, and he said no, and that Best Buy would call me to reschedule the installation. Later that day, I as I continued to process what took place, I told my neighbor what happened and asked for his help with the dryer. My neighbor came over and fully installed my dryer with the original part that I ordered from Best Buy. He said it didn’t make sense that the guy told me he was unable to. I am still waiting on follow-up. Best Buy, women should not have to worry about being harassed in their own home as a result of ordering your products and services.
