Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the 7.5 Cu. Ft. 11-Cycle Electric Dryer with Steam's performance, ease of use, and quiet operation. Many appreciate the steam feature and the dryer's large capacity. However, some customers reported issues with the heating element and found the control panel difficult to read due to its angled design. The dryer's size was also noted as a potential issue for some users.

    never again

Dryer is 3 years old and relay switch went bad so entire computer board needs to be replaced which will cost $460. Service man told us he fixes Samsung appliances every day. Not only will it not start, but if it eventually does start, it will not stop - even after the power switch is turned off. Also stopped blowing heat. Will never buy Samsung again.

This is great dryer. It dries quickly, seems very sturdy and the steamer is fantastic for getting out wrinkles quickly.

    Never again

I bought a new Samsung washer and dryer to replace an older Whirlpool. 15 months into and the dryer quits heating. This is at the beginning of the month and I can not get an appointment till the beginning of the next month for service from Best Buy. So I hire an independent who came highly recommended. After completely dismantling the dryer and cleaning it, it still does not heat. Have replaced all the parts and still not working. After 15 months it just quits working, ridiculous. Never again buying a Samsung. Oh and FYI...a daughter has my old Whirlpool (10 years old or so) and still working great.

    Failed after one year

Just after one year when it's no longer covered by the warranty, the dryer has stopped heating. The heating element, thermal fuse, and thermostat have all been replaced; however it's still not working. After reviewing the issue further, others have also replaced the control board and front panel to no avail. It appears all the other associated wiring fails on these quite often within 1-3 years. Rather than re-wiring the whole dyer, I'll have to sell it as is and buy a different brand. What a waste of money!

    Samsung Dryer Cracked Drum

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased a Samsung Dryer and the stainless steel drum cracked within two years. In my opinion, this is a manufacturing defect related to poor design of the drum or drum wheels. Search "Samsung dryer cracked drum" to see all of the information related to this problem. I would not purchase another Samsung. Samsung customer service has refused to take care of this issue.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your dryer, Dave. Please note, however, that the model described in your review cannot be the DV42H5200EP, which has been available for less than one year and does not have a stainless steel drum.

      Thank you,

Replace electric Samsung dryer with duplicate because matching stack units. Dryer quit! Only two years and two days electronic control panel quit. Was as cheap to replace dryer with a new one; than to fix broken dryer.

This has to be one of the worse dryers I have ever purchased in my life. Within a couple months of having it I had to replace roller wheels which are all plastic a belt and heating element. I’ve taken apart numerous times and purchased endless parts only to come to another heating element out. This dryer is now ready to be picked up for recycling on the side of my house.. I will never buy anything Samsung again

Build quality terrible, 1 yr warranty inadequate

Bought both the washer and dryer. Washer latch broke after the first 6 months -- tiny plastic latch within an $80 latch mechanism. Cost to repair: $250. Dryer stopped drying clothes and began making a loud metallic grinding sound with every revolution after 18 months. Samsung cites 1 year warranty and will not repair. Estimated cost to repair: $500. I did extensive research before buying this product -- referred to Consumer Reports and several online reviews which were almost unilaterally positive. A dryer is supposed to be a durable consumer product. It should last longer than 18 months before it has repair costs almost in excess of the cost of the original equipment. The reviews suggested I should be very happy but based on my experience, I clearly received a defective dryer. It's clear to me Samsung sold me a lemon... which is fine. It happens. But to not admit fault, to not step up and fix it... that is unforgivable. I shall not buy anything made by Samsung again.

Bought this brand new w delivery. Delivery guys dented the side and when the drum would spin it would bang because of the dent. Got it replaced. Since then the drum belt has broken and the thermal element has burned out twice. Don’t use more than 2-3 of the settings so wouldn’t buy again. Save money and buy a basic, cheaper dryer. Seems like they all last a 2-3 years before issues

    Loud and shakes

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Saw great reviews about this product. After waiting 6 weeks for the machines and not having my set not show up on the day it was scheduled, it arrived the next day after a few phone calls. It was installed and set up and the second day it had a horrible shake where I can't put the washing machine on any faster spin speed than the low spin cycle without it nearly breaking through my walls. The dryer is incredibly loud and has a major vibrating sound. After all that waiting and having to use family's laundry machines, I am so disappointed and am hoping someone can come out and fix this problem.

    Dryer broke in 5 years

The dryer stopped drying. Probably the heating element. Very little lint in the vent. We bought the dryer 5 years ago. Seems like it should have lasted longer. Although it did last two years longer than the washer. I liked the dryer while it worked, but now I'm really not impressed.

    Waste of Money

I bought this dryer last year, and now it will not heat up. I've spent almost $200 trying to get it repaired with no luck. It was not overused as it is only my husband and I that live in our house. Don't waste your money on such an expensive dryer where it will stop working after only one year of normal use!

    I hate this dryer

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Dryers are so expensive. I have an LG washer and I love it. I went for the cheaper dryer and am so sorry. Everything other than delicates has to be dried on "bedding" (basically, the information I got from support). You can't adjust the time without turning the dryer off and restarting once you have started to dry. Selecting timer times is tedious and it always resets to hot and 40 min so you have to select every single dryer load and everytime you turn the dryer off (which, as I said is everytime you want to adjust the time once you've started drying - meaning, you can't feel the load and then adjust the time without turning the dryer off and resetting). You have to put a tennis shoe in for anything other than delicates or everything rolls into a giant ball and does not dry in the middle. (Also a Samsung recommendation I believe - and if not, then there's no remedy.) Shoe is noisy and irritating. Hate. It.

Poor quality dryer AND poor customer service

Purchased less than a year ago. Only used occasionally by 2 adults. Seems to dry OK but experiencing continuous problems. First dryer installed made loud noise within 1st week of ownership and was thankfully replaced by Best Buy. Replacement dryer started making worse noises in 4 months. Best Buy told me they do not support after 30 days of ownership unless you purchased the protection plan when buying the unit. Cannot add protection plan after 30 days. Samsung's warranty support is disgraceful. They assign service companies who don't even call you to schedule the repair appointment or return your calls. Unless you want the hassle of trying to get this dryer serviced, you will want to purchase a different product.
