    Heating element issue

Bought this unit 2 1/2 years ago at Bestbuy when we purchased our new home (and the matching washer). We was about 3 loads a week - which I think is actually minimal for a family of 3. The heating element went out (the bracket with ceramic pegs that holds the heating element cracked, warped and caused the element to come free, it touched the metal housing and blue the thermo fuse). The replacement parts were $24, but it took about 4 hours to fix. You need to be fairly handy to do it. Long story short, if you want a dryer that lasts the 10-15 years expected, this isn't the unit for you.

This is my second Samsung Dryer that completely lost heat. This one didn't have any heat right after it was delivered and installed, the first lost heat after 4 years. I was on the phone for --40 minutes-to schedule BB to pick it up and start my refund process. I have always liked Samsung, but I am now switching to a Whirlpool. We also replaced the heating element and thermostat on our first Samsung dryer with neither working. I expected the dryer to last longer than 4 years; I am not making the same mistake this this dryer.

    Dryer Heating Element Died

I purchased this unit on September 5th. It was delivered on the 11th. I have had this dryer for just over 3 months and the heating element has gone out. I will be contacting Samsung this evening to get this repaired. This just does not give me piece of mind if this unit already has an issue this soon from purchase. My last Maytag dryer lasted for 15+ years without any major issues other than a dryer belt. I will update my rating as long as Samsung makes right on this.

Dryer stopped heating. Failure of the heating element thermostat 1yr10m after install, and of course out-of-warranty (1yr). $240 repair on a $630 dryer that is under 2yrs old. Unacceptable.

In the first 24 month's of ownership, this dryer has had one failed sleeve bearing (replaced with a roller bearing) on the drum, and a failed heating element. Appliances used to be more reliable than this - but perhaps (? @@@@@@@ this is just a lemon? I likely won't look to Samsung next time for a washer/dryer.

Heating Element and Motor died right after a year

I purchased my washer and dryer combo in late Sept 2015. Everything was fine until the last month ( Dec 2016 ). A little over a year with a few months out of warranty both the dryer motor and the heating element went out. I didn't panic, I just called customer service to get the issues resolved. It took communicating with them for a full week with four different call centers before finally getting someone to come out. The technician never showed up. So we called Samsung back and requested to have a different service vendor to come. They obliged and set us up with the only other service tech in the city of Louisville, KY. Never confirmed. Still hasn't been fixed. I have no idea what I'm going to do. We never abused our appliances and honestly, never had a lot of laundry to do. You'd expect a set of $600 appliances to last you more than a year without issues. I'll never purchase a Samsung appliance again.

I do like this dryer and it's features. It is very easy to operate and has done the job. There is one feature I am not very fond of and that is the heat sensor which indicated when your clothes are "suppose to" be dry. This dose not hold true on towels and heavier weight items. Then when you restart your dryer to reheat your clothes, it will shut off when it feel they are dry. Unfortunately there is no over ride switch that you can control; all computerized.

Cheap heating element, needs replacement often

Don't buy this dryer. The heating element is so cheap that even with light use it breaks frequently. Once it breaks it is either a pain to fix yourself or you can opt for the high price visit from a repair person. Best option is to buy a better dryer. It dries clothes in a ball a time with the inner ball staying wet. Sheets are the worst. This is a very poorly designed dryer. Don't buy Samsung.

From day one it hasn't worked, there is no heat. It turns on and runs cold air, but no heat. I called Samsung and they sent out a 3rd party repair person who said it was the motor, but since he didn't have a motor we rescheduled for a week later. He came back, replaced the motor, still didn't work, he said it was now the computer, which of course he didn't have, so we rescheduled for the next week. Received a call the night before his 3 visit saying the part still wasn't in, so it was rescheduled again for 2 days later. Received another call the day of that visit saying the tech had called in sick and they would need to reschedule. At that point I called Best Buy to exchange the product for a brand new one, they complied and the delivery was scheduled. However, I never received a confirmation call the night before delivery, so I called Best Buy to confirm. They confirmed they had all the notes for the exchange, and the delivery, but their order numbers didn't match, so nothing was officially scheduled, and therefore I wasn't getting a delivery that day. I now have a new delivery day scheduled for tomorrow 1-9-15. I have had a "Brand New" broken dryer for a month now. I understand there are lemons, but all of the customer service issues between Samsung, the 3rd party repair company, and Best Buy is unacceptable. Easily the worst overall customer service experience of my life.
