The small capacity area does not move the clothes around and therefore dries only the part that is getting hit directly with the air. If you want to just lay a shirt in there to dry without wrinkles, I guess it's functional, as long as you go and turn the shirt over to dry the other side. The larger capacity dryer works fine, except it spends a long time on the cool down part of the cycle which for me is a waste of time, efficiency and money.

It's amazing how before the wash starts the washer actually weighs how much clothes you have in there to make sure you don't go over 8 pounds and if you do it definitely let you know I love that feature and there is so many more features on there that I am so pleased with I am just so happy that I bought this washer and dryer

Mini Dryer on top has proved well worth the cost for delicates. Not too noisy and drys quickly. Not totally versed on the Smart Things app, but in time I am certain it will prove useful. Only one small discomfort...have to bend way in to get anything in the back of the dryer. The pedastals are only raise it 6 inches so not sure if it's worth getting. Overall...I highly recommend this washer and dryer set!
