The Best Gaming TV Out There!!!

First off, i CANNOT believe i got this. $3000 TV for only $1,999, AMAZING BlackFriday Special!!! With that said... I mainly purchased this TV for gaming on my Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, and Nintendo Switch, and also from time to time movie watching with the wife. I was working with a $2100 budget from the start, in the end i boiled it down to either the 65" Sony x900f, or this 75" Samsung Q6FN. While doing my research, i found out that Sony's X-Motion technology cannot be implemented during gaming, this was super disappointing for me as i really wanted the smooth motion during my game play, a TV with good Motion Rate Tech during play can make a game that is running at 30fps look like it is running at 60fps, it's a godsend for gamers, and fairly new as TV's never use to allow this for gaming. Also, while Sony's X900F does have Freesync for gaming, Freesync cannot be implemented unless the game is running at 48fps or over. What Freesync does is it monitors the FPS of the game, when the game drops in frames, the Freesync compensates for this loss of frames and makes it look as if you are getting a constant 30 or 60 FPS at all times (whatever the games constant FPS is), really cool tech, but not the same as smooth motion technology. This is where the Samsung Q6FN really shines! This TV not only has Freesync, but it also allows it's "Auto Motion Plus" technology to be implimented during game play! This was the deal braker for me, as these days most graphic intensive games run at 30fps, and on a TV this size (75") you can REALLY tell as the blur and jitter of a game running at 30fps shows like an eyesore, and this i will get back to in a minute. With that said, upon picking up the TV from Best Buy in my Mini Van, getting home and mounting it on my wall, i was absolutely BLOWN AWAY with the brightness of this set (i told my wife that i felt like i was looking at the sun!!! lol!). Any gamer knows that if you do not have the brightness (or NITS with implemented HDR), you are not gonna be able to see the full beauty of what the developer intented the game to look like. After going through the initial set-up, i popped in RDR2 for my Xbox One X, and HOLY HE11 MY JAW WAS ON MY BED!!! It looks absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! I did turn off the FAKE HDR (fake HDR meaning RDR2 uses fake HDR, which RockStar is working on a Fix) within my Xbox dashboard, turned the game on full brightness in the games settings, bumped up the Backlight and Contrast to High within the TV, implimented high contrast, set Brightness to -1, set color to 30, and then implimented Custom "Auto Motion Plus", i put Motion blur on 8, and jitter reduction on 6, and HOLY MOLLY!!! RDR2 went from looking somewhat choppy on my previous 65" LGHU8500, to looking as if it was running at 60fps on my 75inch Samsung, NO JOKE!!! There was no motion blur what-so-ever while looking around or turning my characters head quickly, riding my horse, ect, it's SMOOTH AS BUTTER!!! There is only ONE TINY drawback using Auto Motion Plus though, you do get screen-tearing every now and then, but it happens so infrequently that it is not anything that will effect your experience or take you out of the immersion of the game. With Auto Motion Plus you are getting a game like RDR2 (example) looking like it's running at 60fps running in native 4K, it's INSANE!!! Gaming on this TV as far as input lag is AMAZING!!! At 1080p games that run at 60fps the input lag is ONLY 6.6ms! Games at 1440p input lag is 9ms, and games at 4k 30fps the input lag is 13-15ms, all these number are INCREDIBLE as you can be sure that once you touch the button on your controller your character ain't waisting NO TIME doing what you tell him/her to do! In the case of Auto Motion Plus, when implimented lag does go up to 20ms, but that is still GREAT, as anything between 21-30 is consideres very good and 20ms and under is great. Many Tv's being sold these days are around 20-40ms input lag. This is another reason why i chose this TV, it has been given some of the highest praise for gaming from professional reviews like "4K.com" and "RTINGS", saying the Q6FN even slightly beats out it's bigger brother the Q7FN in this department. As far as movies, i have only watched 1 since purchasing this TV a few days back, it was of BluRay quality and looked STELLER!!! Colors were on point, and for being an edgelite display the blacks are VERY VERY good on this TV, me and my wife were watching the movie in a pich black room and the black bars were blacker then the room itself, very impressive blacks here, and i am very picky with my black levels! I cannot yet comment on HDR content, as i have been busy with 1 game and have only watched 1 non-HDR movie. I can say from all the professional reviews i have read, HDR is great on this, for gaming and Movie's alike. I also base thisbon what this TV can do brightness wise, the NITS (the rated Brightness levels for HDR) are at or around 1000 on this TV. In August Samsung released a firmware update for this TV that bumped up the brightness even more (so they maybe higher now), this update can be downloaded straight to the TV aslong as you have you this TV connected to tour WIFI. Speaking of UPDATES, when you get this TV you will need to go to "Check for Updates" in the settings menu, their is an update for this TV to be downloaded out of box, the update should read 1153 after downloading it. As far as standard HD channels that broadcast in 1080i(which is like 100% of them! lol), they look GREAT!!! You can see each individual peace of hair on peoles faces, ect, and colors once again are on point. Very happy with the picture quality of this set, and if I'm happy I'm sure you will be too, as i have bad OCD when it come to the quality of the picture. The picture setting are very generous on this set, and not only do you have just picture settings, this TV has it's own Video Game calibration settings in Game Mode, which i have not seen ever on a TV before. With that said, i am EXTREMELY happy i went with this set, all that's left to do is get to Best Buy and get the $300 5 yr warranty plan before my 30 days run out. My $2000 LG that i purchased from Best Buy in 2016 crapped out on me in less then 2 years and at the time i was being too cheap to spend extra on a warranty! O'NO, NOT THIS TIME!!! I will update this review once i get to spend more time with this set, which i cannot wait to do! Pictures posted below were taken straight from my phone pointed directly at the screen. Images are of RDR2 XBOX ONE X. :)

    Problems, problems, problems

The tv looked great in the store. As soon as we set it up, the problems started. Colors and clarity were great, but the positives end there. The biggest issue was the awful backlight clouding from the edge lit system with the lights off. We always turn the lights off for movie nights, and the clouding was horrible in dark scenes and the entire family noticed it. Absolutely unacceptable for this price range. Beyond that, HDR content was so dark as to be unwatchable at times. I had to turn the backlight all the way up to be able to see any details in darker scenes, but this results in the image being far too bright with sdr content. I was constantly adjusting the image every time I switched between hdr and sdr movies. After adjustments, it looked pretty good until the next movie, but I shouldn't have to tweak constantly to get an acceptable picture. The remote also constantly disconnects and stops responding. I would routinely have to keep hitting buttons over and over, or even remove the batteries to get the remote to work again. I ended up swapping this disaster for a sony X940e and am thrilled with the Sony. It's near perfect out of the box and requires no tweaking between content types once I got it set how I like it. Samsung has overpriced a mediocre TV, very disappointing. Take my advice. If you can't afford the q8 pr q9, stay far away from the q series. The edge backlighting and poor image processing ruin what appears to be a pretty good LCD panel.

I did my research before I purchased this tv. I read reviews for this series of Samsung, Sony’s and LGs. I knew I wanted the QLED series but didn’t want to pay the pretty penny tag that came with it. I had to wait a week or 2 before I purchased this TV at a Best Buy Outlet in Dallas (based on availability) so I was skeptical until they pulled it out the box and plugged it in. If you are not familiar with the process, you have to purchase the tv first before knowing what’s all included in the box. Although a little nerve racking, everything was inside and functioned properly. There was a small scratch near the logo at the bottom of the tv but worth the discount I got it for. Regarding the TVs quality, it’s perfect for watching games or movies. It’s loud enough to not have to use a sound bar and big enough to watch it from my kitchen (15 yards away). The picture shows clear but I have noticed a glare from the ceiling fan when the lights are on (cut the lights off for a simple fix). I love Samsung over Sony even though most tv heads recommended Sony. This was the best TV for my home, my budget and most of all me.

I decided to get the 75" Q6 with the $1k price drop during black Friday season. I read about the differences between the Q6, Q7, Q8 and Q9. Went into the store and watched a 4k bluray on the 75" Q6 and it looked great. I had a 2nd generation non-HDR 4K Samsung TV and really wanted HDR for my HDR capable movies. I decided on the Q6 due to the price difference and while you can easily tell the Q8 is a better TV, it was $1500 more for the 75" over the Q6 which IMO was not worth the difference in quality. Did not notice a whole lot of difference compared to the Q7. Got it home and after adjusting the settings to my liking and the room lighting the picture is absolutely amazing! The colors really pop, even streaming football from my Roku Ultra that is not even streamed in 4k or 1080P(hint, make sure you turn on HDR+ mode for non-HDR sources). Really impressed with this TV even though it is the entry level QLED. My 4k Blu-rays look amazing as well. If the Q8 drops to $1999 next Black Friday will get that for the bedroom! If you sit about 10 feet away from your TV, definitely get the 75" over the 65, HUGE difference!

My 75" Q6F 4K UHD TV did blow me away with it superb qlarity, almost too-much color, and of course excellent resolution. This TV at current prices is likely a Best of the Best Buys. Everything you want is in this TV. It's easy to use with the simple, smart remote. This TV is ready for UHD 4K now being available at an increasing rate. All the top features are Five Stars! The only thing I am still getting used to is the huge difference from regular LED TV's whether 4K or just HD. The Q6F series produces much richer colors than I was used too so I had to play around with settings to tone it down a bit to not overwhelm me with the feeling of too much color. In 4K video like on Planet Earth II, the resolution really shines. I could see more slight variations in color hue than I have ever seen before on any TV. I recommend this TV for those with 4K content to make use of its great 4K capability. It's cost is at a good point so you can buy it now and use it for the common HD content and be ready for more 4K UHD in the future. Go Buy and Enjoy!

Let me start by telling you why I purchased this tv. I originally purchased the Sony X850F 75” after being convinced by the sales associate. Well, it’s clear that they were being told to try and get rid of the Sony. After I got it home, I noticed some cloudy grey areas in the corners of the tv. The next day, I had to reconnect the WiFi, and had to do the same every day after. Streaming would cut out in the middle of shows as well. Checked my speeds on other devices and they all worked fine with my house having over 100mbps. They tv also leans back when sitting on a level tv stand. After dealing with these issues I finally read some reviews and sure enough, many others had the same issues. Returned it and got the Samsung Q6F. Huge difference. The picture is so crisp. The remote is Bluetooth so doesn’t even need to be pointed at anything. The remote also operates my Bose sound system as well as my cable box. Stay away from Sony and buy this tv

I went into my local Best Buy after doing my research to purchase this new Samsung QLED Q6 75 inch. After speaking with many employees they talked me into the Sony x850f 75 inch due to the processor being better. I purchased the Sony but still had that feeling I wanted the Samsung. The first week the sony was nice but the setting screen and apps just seemed older and slow. After a week all the blacks on the right side of the screen went cloudy and the tv was unwatchable with dark scenes. I went with my gut and replaced it with the 2018 QLED and man is this Samsung better. The picture is better, the apps and setting are much more updated and faster. Maybe I got a lemon but if your looking for a comparable 75 inch get the QLED. You wont be sorry.

I did a lot of research to decide between a Sony and a Samsung. Since Panasonic stopped making plasma tv's, I've purchased Sony sets and was always very satisfied. But after much research and speaking to a sales associate, I chose the Samsung QLED and I'm glad I did. With a few tweaks in the "Natural" picture setting, I had a great picture right out of the box. And I'm very fussy about having a natural, life-like picture. I highly recommend the Q6F and must say that I don't understand the negative reviews found online. The colors are robust and the picture is sharp with no motion blur. I use a soundbar so I can't comment on the audio but other reviews will help you. To summarize, you won't be disappointed with the Samsung Q6F.

I looked at 75" TVs for several months, comparing and contrasting many makes and models. I purchased the Samsung Q6F because it offered greater features and quality above the base models, without having the big price tag of the top models. I could not be happier with my purchase. The picture looks awesome whether in daylight or at night. The contrast and brightness are both amazing - not to mention the 4k!!! The other thing I love about this that was not mentioned anywhere is the speed and responsiveness of the TV - it turns on almost instantly and then you have immediate access to any streaming channels. I have been used to waiting for Netflix or Prime to load, but with this they are instantly available. The remote is an incredible design - it is simple, but yet provides all the functionality that you need. I was also incredibly happy with Best Buys install guys - they were professional and took as much time as I needed to answer all my questions.

The TV is just ok, It's not bad not great either. Out of the box the picture is very bright & washed out colors. Looked online for decent settings which was a challenge to find. I have an older Samsung model 75" that's not HDR & not QLED, it produces better picture. Also it looks like it can't handle motion very well, fast moving objects looks a bit strange. Samsung is decent but always uses confusing marketing, ie OLED Vs QLED! OLED is a much better TV, just too expensive & the feed (Direct TV in my case) will not be up to speed for a very long time. I'm having a back & forth now with them to upgrade my box to 4K but that's for another review. And no I'm not judging the Direct TV picture that's produced by their 1080P box, I'm judging the picture based on a Netflix HDR show on my new TV with Netflix HDR show on my older 4K Samsung that is Not HDR, & the picture is better on the older TV. It is still a decent TV @ a decent price, just fell short of my expectations.

      Buyer2007,

I am sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with the Q6FN TV.
Please know that the limitation of streaming 4K content and displaying it with full resolution does not appear to be with the Q6F, but with DirectTV and Netflix.
While Netflix does support 4K content streaming, it requires a different account level for the app to display the full resolution with optimal frame rate.
Please check your subscription service to make sure that you are on the Netflix 4K plans.

I hope these tips help to make your experience more enjoyable.

Between the two models of non-QLED Samsung 75” TVs I didn’t see too too much of a difference and there was about a $500 difference between them. But... between the non-QLED and Q6 QLED tv there was a massive massive difference in color, brightness, picture quality etc. and then between the Q6 - Q9 very minor differences for thousands more. This tv is phenomenal in all aspects. Smart features, apps, picture this is the best bang for the buck compared to all brands with the 120hz refresh rate HDR QLED people are in awe when they see the tv on in the living room. It looks great in the store but in your living room it look amazing!! To top it off it’s extremely easy to mount. Heads up you need 4 45mm M8 bolts to mount it and Home Depot carries them for 2 bucks per pack of 2!!

Did a lot of research and had a budget. When this one went on sale, I spoke to an associate in store who recommended this over a 7 Series UHD. I previously had a 52” Samsung tv for 7 years. The picture was great, displayed at 1080i. I get this monster home and mounted and upon setting up, the picture is terrible. It’s grainy and not clear, opposite of how I imagined the 4K would look. When I check the output it says it’s only displaying at 720x480/60p. Why is it my old tv displayed at 1080 and this one won’t? Am I missing something? I would return it and get a Sony but my wife decided to throw the box out already so now I’m stuck. I did buy a $50 4K hdmi cable and it didn’t help.

We purchased this TV only because we wanted to get rid of cable and live stream, so we needed a smart TV. We had a 55” and wanted to upgrade. We first were going to purchase a 4K Q8 65”, but decided on getting a 4K Q6 75” instead for the same amount of $. The picture on the Q6 is the same quality as the Q8. One thing that I would recommend is painting the wall behind the TV a much darker color so you can appreciate the TV more. It makes you focus on the TV and not everything around it if you have a light colored background. So far we’ve had no lagging issues or ghosts/shadows like we did with our old TV. The picture quality is amazing whether we’re watching live TV or streaming programs. We also purchased a Samsung HD Blu-ray player so we could control everything from one remote. The picture is awesome!

This TV is good but under heavy testing, not much better than an 8 series Samsung SUHD from last generation. Bixby is a great feature on the TV. Wish the one box was included. If cost nothing to make. Should come with all TVs. I'm pretty critical of my tech and own 3 generations of Samsung TVs. The blacks are BLACK! Colors POP which is what the Q6 is known for. Dynamic mode is awesome... but if you're watching for over an hour, you might want to bring your sun glasses. Or... just switch modes. Speakers are great compared to other Samsung TVs. Sound is quite dynamic and deep for internal speakers. Interface with XBOX ONE X and Comcast Xfinity is outstanding... very smart. I was disappointed that Best Buy didn't match their Black Friday pricing during Superbowl. It turned out to be overpriced.

ESPN app doesn’t work- called 3 times. Waiting for a service technician which is a joke. Tv is days old and won’t connect with cable provider (centurylink). I’m sure nothing can be done to fix this. I’m very technological and I went through every possible solution. Call center said “I have a bad tv” but in order to replace...have to have a tech waste my time. NBC app isn’t available for live viewing via Samsung I now have a cheap Roku device hooked to my expensive “not so smart” tv...in order to be able to watch espn and nbc live shows. Picture quality is not great-which I assume is because of streaming through multiple devices. Hoped to be able to cut the cord...but I can’t watch this in its current state. This is only the beginning...can’t wait to see what other apps don’t work.

My previous TV went out after only five years so I was disappointed and I wanted to take my time to pick out the right one for me. I read review after review and it appeared that this TV would meet my needs. To my disappointment it does not. When I initially turn it on, the picture is dark and blurry. I thought maybe it needed to warm up since it was the first time turning it on. The picture did get better and I was happy. The next day, the same thing happened, the screen is dark and blurry when its turned on. The brightness does get better the longer it is on but depending on what you are watching, images continue to be blurry. After a second or two, the image does come in crisp. Given the cost, this is not acceptable.

We upgraded from a 55" Samsung. We were torn between this one and the LG that was comparable. We've never had a problem with Samsung before so we stayed with the brand. It has bluetooth which was a bonus. I can connect it to my phone and listen to music that way. The only issue we have is some shows and movies are dark are super dark on the TV with a lot of light. We have a lot of natural light in our living room so some things are hard to see when they're dark. We've adjusted the settings and it doesn't really help much. It's only an issue during the day on certain dark shows. Even on my phone in very little light those shows are dark. It may just be the Samsung brand. Otherwise no complaints.

I run everything through a receiver and therefor only need to use the TV in one input and occasionally use the built in smart TV functions. Anytime the TV senses other inputs it wants to change what it is doing (this confuses the receiver because it is using the arc channel to use the TVs smart functions) and you end up with a blank screen for a few moments while it figures out what the heck is going on. Worst timing for this is when I'm playing Xbox and the receiver gets confused from input and TV is still trying to control the receiver via arc. Hard to get a fury K in Call of Duty when the screen goes dark!

I purchased the tv 2 weeks ago. The first week it was great. The Smart Hub worked and stayed connected to the internet. Week 2 was different story. The Smart Hub will not stay connected to the internet. I reset the Smart Hub, the entire tv, and my router. Nothing worked and I know its a problem with the tv and not my internet because my other Samsung smart tv and other devices connect fine. Thank God this happen with in my 15 day return period. TV is going back and being replaced with another brand. I hate to do this as I am a big fan of Samsung products but for the reviews I have read online this is an on going issue with this model. On the plus side the picture was great.
