Review from someone with both an OLED and this TV

I own a 65" LG OLED TV and now I own the 75" Q900TS. Here is the TLDR: If I could only choose one TV, it would be the OLED, but as a second TV I would choose this over a second OLED. I watched the 2021 NBA playoffs and UEFA and didn't have any blurring issues as another uses complained about. I put it on both my OLED and QLED and the QLED had a clearer picture despite its larger size. I am no cinephile, I don't have any special calibration equipment, I am pretty much just your basic Movie/TV/Gamer guy who wants an easy to use TV that looks fantastic. Delivery from BB was great, unboxing was easy, and getting set up was a breeze. It is obviously a heavy TV so it took two of us to put it together and onto the TV stand. One of the first concerns I had when researching the TV was that it tilts back a few degrees and isn't perfectly straight. My TV stand is already high so I thought this may be an issue. It wasn't. Once it was on I couldn't even tell that the screen slightly leans back. Perhaps still a weird choice by Samsung, but practically it makes no difference. The remote is sleek and uncomplicated, the settings/smart apps are easy to find and use. There are more apps than the LG store so that's a plus (I can use my Spectrum TV app directly on the TV). Okay so the main feature of this TV is that it is 8K. If you're getting a 65" TV, I would go with the 4k OLED because it just isn't a good enough improvement to have 8k on that size TV. However, at 75" I can very much appreciate the 8k (even upscaled). The Youtube app on the TV can play 8k videos so I tested some of those out from a simple youtube search. They're all landscape (and you have to confirm the video is actually 8k, since some advertise 8k but are really only 4k), but they are incredible. I can stand right next to the screen and see details from a car that is less than 1"square on the screen. The thing that caught my breath was the improvement of colors and brightness compared to the OLED. I have a bright living space and you can see the difference between the OLED and the QLED in my pictures. The QLED colors looked as if I were there in person. I think the OLED is going to check more boxes for more people and has a solid picture no matter what the media type. But if you choose this one instead, you're not going to be missing out IMO. I would rate the OLED as 4.97/5 and the QLED as 4.96/5. At the $2699 price I paid versus the $3000 for the similar size OLED, I am thrilled with what I received.

I am really loving this TV. The upscale is amazing and now I am going back and watching movies I had already seen to experience it on this tv. I was very impressed with the sound from the tv’s speakers. However I reconnected it to my sound system but it was really good. Only negative I would say is the remote is extremely sensitive. When just reaching for it I generally flip channels or sources. But I will survive that learning curve. No regrets.

It's a wonderful dispay... The contrast and the crisp image makes a huge difference. However, the navigation through the controls are not very fast and wireless network connection is very poor, it disconnects every time I turn it on and it doesn't troubleshoot either. So, I had to use LAN wire connection.

I have had this television for about a month and a half now. One of the things I never considered was, that no matter what quality of content I watch be it 4k, 1080p, 720p or any other source there is ALWAYS a layer of technology needed to play the source code on the TV. That means that this TV is always upscaling content therefore all content no matter what it is, is affected by the upscaling AI. This has varying negative affects on the picture but ALL affects are being seen as negative vs native picture to me. For example 1080p basketball games, I am seeing whole faces completely blurred out because the upscaling cannot keep up with the pace of the changing screen. Literally the picture (My 8k pic) is being reduced to blotches running up and down the court. Football is not much better . 4k content looks good but I truly cannot see the difference from my 5 year old 4k Samsung tv except for the occasional "blur splash" due to upscaling. My point is everything is affected by the need to upscale the content to 8k and while you would think this a wonderful idea in most cases, 85% of your viewing content , it is a terrible distraction. I am an avid Samsung tv owner I have owned over 7 of them over the years. I actually have 2 4k tv's right now, the 2019 model in 65 inches and another 65 inch thats about 5 years old. I took the leap of faith that this would be a significant upgrade this 2020 75 inch model just purchased for 3999.00 sadly it is not. It is a significant back step in reality. ...... I NEVER post reviews but this has been such a failure that I had too.

The TV is in a class by itself. It’s a modern technology, it commands respect and its appearance is commanding and attractive. It’s made of the best technology the world has to offer and the pictures are crisp, sharp, lively and imaginative. One would wonder what Samsung was thinking. Watching it gives the cinematic feeling. It gives your home the utmost theatrical effects and consumption. -From a repeat buyer

This TV is amazing, returned a X900H due to EARC issues and so glad I did - everything looks phenomenal and I'd jump on this deal ASAP. The stand other people whined about is for a low stand and it's absolutely perfect!!

Very disappointed in Samsung. I’ve owned many Samsung’s and usually they are top of the line, but not this time. First one that came immediately started showing dead pixels and lines across the screen. Best Buy is the greatest they immediately picked it up and sent another. This time the picture was good with 8k on YouTube, but during movement or light screens, colors like a skyline you could see dark lines and banding. So once again Best Buy picked up and I ordered the LGCX77 which is amazing. Both for gaming and viewing. I cannot recommend this Samsung flagship. It’s no better than current 4K OLEDS.

Nice picture, however it has a small chip on the bottom of the screen that even the geek squad installers didn’t see. I will be calling them as soon as my remodel is done

The tv works great and was has lots of smart features. Had a previous higher end Samsung, I would say the larger frustration is in trying to tune the picture. It is a bit complex of a process with how many “tuning” options exist. We have ours paired with a Samsung sound bar, which was very simple to pair up. I will say with being as large a tv as it is, the sannos tv mount was a life saver to make sure it’s easy to center…. All in all so far so good for us!

My TV arrived with defected panel so some portion won't even lit up and it has uniformity issues all over the screen. The picture quality is not impressive compare to LG and Sony OLED televisions (I own Sony' A9G OLED TV). While blacks are deeper than conventional LED TVs, Samsung needs to work on preserving details without crushing them into black. Also there is no Dolby Vision, questionable upscaling ability, and you cannot watch 8K content on Youtube by using TV, which I find quite ironic. The TV looks and sounds fantastic. Best remote control in the industry too. But it lacks substance on its essential part - picture quality. I decided to get replacement from LG's new OLED display.

We were exited to receive this 75” 8k tv. It was delivered on time. Unfortunately was defective and no way to start the TV due to a dent in the screen. Bestbuy were kind enough to come and pick it up and replace the TV. The new TV functions well but unfortunately the TV stand doesn’t fit well with the back of the TV. Only 3 out of the 4 screws locations at the stand match with the wholes in the back of TV. I didn’t call Bestbuy again as I was afraid of what could be the defect in the next TV!!!!

    Best tv I've ever had

I purchased the 75" Q900TS from Best Buy the first week of October 2020 so this is a review after 2 weeks of ownership. First, I would like to say that the boxing of the tv is genius. It made for a very easy install. Even the tv stand can be mounted while the tv sits in the foam cradle. Two people are needed to get it out of the foam cradle and mount or lift it as it weighs nearly 100lbs. I have the tv running through my Pioneer home theater receiver and only one HDMI cable was needed to run from the back of the tv eARC slot into the receiver. I also plugged an over the air antenna into the back of the tv. I have a SAT/CBL system and wifi setup as well. I spent the night before delivery going through the online manual so I would be familiar with the tv when it arrived. Turning the tv on for the first time ran an easy setup program. It connected to my wifi simply after supplying it with the password. I ran through the settings but left everything at its default value until getting more familiar with the tv. One of the first things I did was to update the firmware. I had seen on the Samsung Support page for this tv that a firmware update was available, ver. 1402.1. The auto update on the tv did not see this version so I used the USB method described on the support page to update the firmware. Their are plenty of apps that come with the tv and they integrate very nice. They are easy to use and don't really require any setup other than entering your username and password. The 8K content on YouTube is amazingly clear and sharp. I've never experienced this clear of a picture on any tv. One issue I am having with both YouTube and YouTube TV and Google Play is audio sync. The voices are about 1 sec behind the video. Their is an adjustment on the tv for voice sync however it does not have an effect on either YouTube. If you pause the video then start it, it will sync for about 2 minutes then goes out of sync again. No problems with Netflix or my SAT/CBL box. Their are so many adjustments that you can make to the picture that you just have to play with the settings and see what suits your taste. I've had the tv for 2 weeks now and am still playing with the picture adjustments. It's a very bright screen and I did have some eye fatigue so I have turned down the brightness to the lowest setting which suits my taste. I also recommend that you put this in a large room where you can sit at least 10-12 feet from it at a minimum. Otherwise its like sitting in the front row of a movie theater. The remote has a very good feel and fits in my hand very comfortably. After a little use you don't have to look at the buttons as they will come naturally. I did not have to sync it to my receiver as it automatically did it the first use. Yours may be different. I like the option that you can opt-out of the various ad and privacy statements. This limits the number of ads you will see and receive. Read the info on that for more details. It's available in the setup. Overall, I really like the Q900TS. Best tv I have ever owned.

Picture and feature qualities were impeccable, soul sourced like non other. I knew going into this what i was goimg to get. Unfortunately, what i didnt know was that it is a sensitive unit and at some point of it being in the store, something happened to the TV. When i got home plugged it in the Picture as mentioned was fabulous. Days later I began to notice lines going left to right. They simidisappeared for a fee days then came back and got worse and worse as each day went by. It sucked that I finally was able to get the deal I was waiting for to get the TV I wanted. And then this happened. A perfectly good TV, is what we all want. This TV in good condition is the future. If you're a TV/tech fanatic as myself, this is where you want to be for all purposes-movies, shows, gaming, sports, etc. The Picture is as if you could give someone a high-five on the screen or grab a cup off of a table on the picture. It really thumbles between the 4k & 8k quality. Impeccable

The Amazing deal we got on the Samsung 75”Q900TS Series QLED 8K UHD Smart Tizen TV, was just too good to pass up! The tv is large, the resolution /detail and color are Awesome!! Before this tv we had an older 55” Samsung tv, so this one is a shocker in comparison! The tv is thin and super easy to set up. We have a Google Nest Mini that we can pair with the tv, as well as Apple Air Pods, definitely unexpected. There are so many positives to this tv, and absolutely no negatives! We highly recommend this to anyone that values a good deal on a well built reliable and Stellar tv!!!
