So far so good but this is my 3rd Samsung. One point that convinced me to purchase this one was the 6 speaker across the viewing area.

So I purchased this tv as an open box excellent item which I have had great success with BB doing this in past for both tv's and laptops.
I felt pretty nervous when I picked it up when they brought it to my car with stand attached and bubble wrapped. I get it home and inspect and notice right off the bat there is bleeding white lights coming from bottom of screen and it keeps playing the Samsung ad you see in store showing the capabilities of tv and figure out its stuck on retail mode which effectively means this tv running 10 hours a day in the highest settings possible has used about 70% of its life expectancy. Of course you can't reach anyone at the store locations anymore so I call Samsung and had to give them approval to remote into my tv to do a hard reset because remote wasn't allowing me to change to home or reset the tv. Spoke to BB call center and they will reach out to store to see if there is anything they can do for me with an exchange and I'll edit the review once I get things finalized but I believe if BB has an open box TV, how can you rate it excellent and not tell your customers the hours that are on it???

The TV stopped working properly within 3 weeks of purchase after virtually no use.
The screen flashes and blinks continuously and there is a dark rectangle in the lower left of the screen.

So far I'm really enjoying this TV. I recently moved and needed to replace my television, so I visited Best Buy. The employee recommended this one, which was in my budget. I'm very happy with this purchase.
The quality of the tv is pretty good. It has great picture quality, with some great blacks! The brightness is great as well. It wasn't super heavy, taking only 2 of us to hang it, with me being a pretty small guy. Being a smart tv, it really makes watching various platforms easy and was super easy to set up once it was powered on. I have a Samsung phone which also integrated well with this tv. And finally the remote. It's small and easy to use, but the best feature is the solar recharger built in. You just turn it over and let it recharge. You also have the ability to plug it in using USB. I thought this was a nice touch, as long as you remember to charge it.
It isn't without its faults however. The sound is average quality for a tv, what you'd expect for television speakers. If you're wanting amazing sound, pick up a good sound system to go with it. It also includes ads in the menu, something I'm not used to in a television. It doesn't bother me, but it might for those that hate seeing an ad for Samsung products. The menu can be a little cumbersome at first. It took me a while to locate the input select. Which brings me to my final point. This tv has a feature that allows you to pick a device that's attached to it, I believe to optimize the picture based on the product. It discovered my Xbox no problem, but it lacks that same feature for the Nintendo Switch. Kinda struck me by surprise that it'd not have the Switch as a product.
Overall, I'd highly recommend this tv. It's a great bargain for the price and suits everything I need it for. Plus the size is perfect for a medium sized living room.

Favnir,
Thank you for purchasing the QN85A TV and for sharing your feedback regarding the sound quality. Your new TV features SpaceFit Sound which optimizes sound tailored to your environment and Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) which further detects disturbances and enhances the on-screen voices for clear dialogue.
Go to Home > Settings > General > Intelligent Mode Settings. Turn the options on or off to meet your needs: - Active Voice Amplifier is available only when the sound sensor of the TV is active and the sound output is set to TV Speaker, or a Samsung Soundbar interlinked with Adaptive Picture is connected. - Adaptive Sound+ provides optimized sound quality by analyzing the viewing space and the acoustic components of the content - Adaptive Volume Automatically adjusts to a specific volume level while you are watching TV.
Several Sound Modes are likewise available to meet your personal preferences: Home > Settings > Sound > Sound Mode
You can also customize sound with Expert Settings. Go to: Settings > Sound > Expert Settings
If your TV is not automatically recognizing both gaming consoles, please make sure Input Signal Plus is enabled for the HDMI port both consoles are connected to. Press Home and navigate to Settings > General > External Device Manager > Input Signal Plus.
Please also ensure Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) is enabled on your TV. Anynet+ recognizes and controls external devices that are connected to the TV via an HDMI cable, and will turn on/off when you turn the TV on/off. To turn on Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC), go to: Settings > General > External Device Manager > Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC).
I hope these tips help. Should you ever have questions or need help, please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for TVs), available 8AM -12AM EST M-F (9AM – 6PM EST Sat). Or text HELP to 62913.

It is like looking out a window on nature shows. The colors are really immersive. Very easy to use, as is the remote. I also like how I can hook it up to Alexa. Had it for nearly a year now and have had zero issues.
If I had a small complaint, is this TV bragged about being anti-glare, which it isn't.
Picture quality is incredible
Setup is easy even you aren't a techy
Sound is fair (just upgrade to a min of a soundbar)
Remote is easy to use and intuitive
More features than I will ever use
Plenty of apps
I chose this over an OLED from LG as I have had incredible luck/track record with Samsung TV's and so far this hasn't let me down, just like the other 4 I still have. Maybe the OLED has a better picture, but I don't think you would know unless they are right next to each other and even then its tough to say. Great TV and great value.

This TV is outstanding! The interface is quick, unlike our 4k Vizio it replaced. The picture quality of the Neo QLED technology is truly superb and was worth the extra money. A side viewing angle doesn't diminish color or brightness either, unlike what we were used to seeing. Set up went quickly and intuitively without any confusion and I'm NOT super techy. It paired with Alexa and our other components without hassle too. I love the simple remote with the voice command feature and also the fact that no batteries are needed EVER! We mounted our TV on the wall and I highly recommend the SANUS Advanced Tilt 4D TV Wall Mount for TVs 42"-90". It allows for easy plug in of cabling after hanging the TV and was much easier than other mounting systems I have used. Get it! You will be happy.

I searched long and hard and swore that I was not going to purchase another Samsung. This is my third smart Samsung and I can honestly say that I hate it!! The menu is clunky, the remote is far to sensitive (bump it and you are changing channels or powering off.)
We got this TV because we needed a super bright picture as we have a lot of windows and during the day, we are fighting the glare and sun. At night though, even with adaptive lighting set I feel as though I am in the direct path of the sun.
My 2010 55" Samsung non WIFI smart TV I think still has a far superior picture quality and its menu works far better. My 2014 65" Samsung fully smart TV is why I swore off Samsung originally. But alas here we are again.
No, I would not buy another Samsung TV ever again.

This is our third Samsung QLED 4K television and our first of the Neo QLED models. Also have a Q70R and a Q80A. Stepped up to this QN85A model and it does not disappoint. Picture quality is excellent and the 120Hz refresh rate is great for watching sports. Dimming and contrast look great. The anti-reflective screen and wide viewing angle make this model versatile when it comes to room placement.

Absolutely gorgeous TV! I had planned on waiting to replace my old TV with one of the new microLED versions coming out, but my old TV had different plans and died. Picked this one up on sale, had it delivered, and set it up. Unfortunately the LCD panel under the glass was shattered! That being said, Best Buy Customer Care was on top of it and got me a new one but the end of the week.
The new one is perfect and is just awesome to watch things like the 4K UHD version of Planet Earth II. I mean everything looks great but the REALLY high end stuff looks life-like. Since this TV also supports HDMI 2.1, I put my Xbox Series X on it just to try it out (this will not be my gaming TV), and it was ridiculously cool.
Easy to set up, easy to use, and absolutely gorgeous. How can you go wrong?

Wow! I had gone into the store and compared all of the 4k UHD QN Series. I was super impressed that the QN85A had come down in price, yet looked very comparable to its successor QN90A!
Pros:
1) Great Brightness
2) Larger than 65" (The new QD OLED is up to 65", so you can get the QN Series Larger for now until QD OLED Technology is available bigger)
Cons:
1) Price, but realistic for the quality you're getting. It comes down to a more attainable budget level as newer technology continues to become available

After 2 months of ownership-
I really considered 4. The Qn85a, qn90a, Sony x90j, Sony x95j. Out of the 4 the x95j was my first pick. At the time of purchase the 85 was on its black Fri price at 2000 and the x95j was 3000. As for the qn90a , I realize the va panel in the 90 is superior to the isp. But I looked and looked. I just couldn’t see it. There wasn’t $500 difference in picture. In fact often I preferred the color of the 85. I did see slightly better out of the 90 with black. But that was sometimes and not by much. Again , not 500 difference. As for the x90j, doesn’t get as bright or as dark imo but had awesome color.
Days after my purchase the price of the 95j came down. I could take this back. The 500-600 difference wasn’t worth loading it up and exchanging it for me. Had I not hung this and was picking from a showroom, I’d probably pay the extra money as I thought the 95j was just better.
Now for this tv. I love the color and brightness. I have zero regrets. I do not feel I’m missing anything. Take time to change your picture settings, the brightness and dial it in. It’s a beautiful picture. Forget what you read about ISP panels and how the contrast doesn’t measure against the va panels and go look with your own eyes. Sometimes numbers do not equal what you actually see and experience.
I only give it 4 star picture quality only considering OLED at 5 stars and give the x95j 4 1/2 stars

Needed to replace a Sony that died after 6 years. Needless to say, Sony was out. OLED with its burn in and color deterioration was out. After two weeks of research it came down to the qn90a vs the qn85a. After seeing both at the store, I decided that the qn90a wasn't worth the price difference and I went with the qn85a. I've not looked back, this TV is awesome and I would highly recommend.
Cons
Wish I had some more control over picture settings.
Sports on "Standard" mode are a little choppy.
Live TV looks the same as on my non-4k TVs but this is due to lack of 4k live streaming and is not TVs fault.
Pros
Sports on Movie mode are not choppy and are crystal clear. Movie mode is pretty much the best setting across the board.
4k HDR content is insane.
Viewing angles are great.
HDR is gorgeous.
Content marked as DolbyVision still play with incredible HDR clarity (was worried they wouldn't since this TV doesn't do DolbyVision but I think devices push HDR when Dolby not supported).
The universal remote is a work of art: self-charges, works out of the box with AppleTV, and controls Sonos surround sound.
The TV interface is solid and responsive.

The picture is so vivid and clear. Gaming on this TV is awesome, especially with next gen games written for 4K, like Halo Infinite. Not sure why others have complained about the remote, as I think it's pretty cool that I won't need to keep feeding it batteries all of the time. Just turn it over and expose the photo cell to light while you watch TV and it stays charged! That and it's as functional as I need it to be. Changing inputs is perhaps a little tedious but every new system has its quirks. I've had Samsung models for years and each one has been just a little different in their menu setup and function but very easy to learn in a few minutes. Had it mounted and that was a good decision. Also, I can't speak to the sound quality since I run a soundbar/subwoofer but for the few minutes that it was on and tuned to Samsung TV the sound through the TV speakers seemed fine. All in all I really like my new TV and would recommend this model to anyone looking to upgrade to a bigger screen (or just 4K in general). It's like a mini movie screen right here in my living room!

many good things about this tv... the picture is nice, way less haloing compared to similar tv's, however there are a few things I'm not a huge fan of that I was pretty surprised were issues on such an expensive tv... for example, there are only 2 picture/audio preset options... adaptive and game. That's it. And the adaptive option doesn't seem to brighten the picture when the room is bright and darken the picture when it's darker in the room, at least not noticeably so. Also, the menu is cumbersome and the settings are not quickly available, you have to scroll through a lot of of other things to get to settings. Furthermore, we have the samsung soundbar with it, and the sound is still mediocre-good at best. The high brightness level is a gift and a curse... it's great when the room is bright so you can see the images over the glare, but once the sun goes down, the brightness is overwhelming, and starts to hurt your eyes. There are many good things about the tv, and our options were limited because of the brightness of our living room (with a wall full of windows), but there are definitely some issues I think Samsung needs to address.
