    Purchased this tv in November of 2024 and as of today it will not power on!!! Very disappointed on such an expensive set! Plus it’s college football bowl season!!!!!!

    I purchased the tv within a month we had to have it repaired. New part installed. Next day same problem now we are waiting for repair service again! Do not purchase the tv! Constantly resetting

    TV broke within the first 90 days. If it worked, im sure it would be great but, the picture quality is the worst ive ever seen. Its just black. It's so black, that it looks like a black hole i just threw my wallet into.

    Samsung 77"S90D colors and sound are bad.

    The Samsung 77"S90D has bad colors. It seems to be dominated by blue colors. I tested the TV with Samsung support and sent them photos. They were not able to fix it. Also, the TV sound is terrible, but the Sonos Arc sound was acceptable. I have attached sample photos of my new TV and the same movie photos of my 16 years old Samsung TV.

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the picture and sound quality of your S90DTV. To ensure you’ve got the latest updates, please confirm that your TV is up to date with the latest firmware version. You can check by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.

      If the picture you’re seeing is still not to your liking after updating firmware, there are several picture settings you may want to try adjusting.

      Go to Home > left direction button > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode
      ...and select the mode that best fits your usage:
      1. Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments
      2. Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments
      3. Eco: Provided to save energy
      4. Movie: Suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room
      5. Filmmaker Mode: Provides source content just as the creators intended. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it’ll automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.

      You can also fine-tune your picture with expert settings such as brightness, contrast, sharpness and more (All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings).

      If the sound is still not to your liking after updating firmware, there are several sound settings you can adjust to suit your personal preferences.

      • Sound Modes may better meet your personal preferences. Go to: Menu > Settings > All Settings > Sound > Sound Mode, or Expert Settings to fine-tune and customize your sound.

      • Adaptive Sound will also further optimize sound quality by analyzing the viewing space and the acoustic components of the content. Go to: Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Intelligent Mode Settings.

    TV is really nice and has a great picture. As others have mentioned it has really great contrast and you can see the picture from anywhere. Whether you are directly in front of the TV or on the side it really does look great. No distortion or glare really at all. I have this in my main living area with several windows and this TV does better than the QLED Hisense I returned. Virtually no glare from lights or windows when its bright outside. Football games in 4K are awesome as well as Netflix and any streaming you do. it upscales the image really good and had great contrast with virtually no halo around images. One gripe I have is when the TV is first turned on it automatically goes to the Samsung Homepage. I prefer to use Apple TV because I like the remote and interface better, but It would be nice if it would automatically go to the HDMI port that was used previously and not the homepage. Also regarding Apple TV with this TV. I thought the TV was having the black screen thing happen as it was just randomly turning off/on by itself. However it was my Apple TV and it needed to be re-set. Read up on it, unplugged everything for 30 sec and reattached it all (including both sides of the HDMI cords) and it was back to normal. Scared me for a second as these TV's have a tendency for the electronic boards to go out. The TV is very heavy and super thin so if you mount it you will need some help. I would recommend putting on some vinyl gloves to reduce the smudges from the oils on your hands also. I had to re-mount the TV lower and had already removed the protective plastic so wiping the screen off was a pain. I've had the TV for a few weeks and really like it. I was nervous about the possibility of the board going out, but with the BestBuy deal for $50 and getting 60 days to return i thought it was worth the price to try it.

    The Image quality is bar none. Specially after calibration. The colors are vibrant and accurate. The Tizen OS not nearly as nimble as Goggle. The biggest fault of this TV is quality control. The TV died after 5 weeks. The problem that is well documented with countless internet complains on every forum were people reported their TV ding between few weeks to a few months and the culprit is the power supply board that fails, it is a manufacturer fault they did not provided the proper Power supply board so it is a lottery on the S90D and the S95D specially on the 77 inch models. It is a shame because other wise no other TV can surpass the picture quality.

    Been a year with the 77” Samsung S90D OLED, and honestly… I still stop and stare at the screen like it’s the first day. The picture is anazing. Deep blacks, rich colors, smooth transitions. Movies, games, sports… it all looks amazing. • The OLED quality? Chef’s kiss. Blacks are very-black.especially compared to my old Vizio m series • Gaming on this thing? Fast, sharp, and responsive. No lag. It keeps up with my Xbox series X • Tizen (the smart interface) is decent. Not perfect, but it gets the job done. I don’t fight with it. • I paired the TV with an Q990C soundbar. Main reason was to take advantage of Q-Symphony • I baby it a bit ’cause, yeah, it’s OLED and burn-in is still in the back of my mind. I grabbed it for $1,799 on sale, which felt like a win. Still does. It’s held up well—no glitches, no screen issues, and it still turns heads when people come over. Would I buy it again? No question. But definitely pair it with good sound.

    After considerable research to purchase a high quality tv to replace my 'dead' rear projection, I decided on this quantum dot organic light emitting diode 77" tv from Samsung. I'm very glad I did. The brightness is outstanding as is the contrast and picture stabiity/quality. There are so many more positives than with non-quantum dot OLEDs and such outstanding resolution that I don't know where to begin.

    We are using this connected to Starlink so some of the programs aren’t as clear as the 4K we expected. I suspect it’s due to slow feeds. The tv works great and is bright all times of the day (night, bright sunlight, and everything in between).

    awesome tv, best picture i have ever seen. this is my most recent purchase in a long line of Samsung tv's and super glad I did it. The picture quality watching from the dinning room is exceptional (large angle--couldn't watch the old QLED at this angle )The Geek squad did a fantastic job with the installation and set up--thanks guys--oh the sound bar mounted to the frame holding the tv sounds great. I'm a happy camper, thanks crew.

    I am only a couple of weeks into owning it, but this is a really nice TV. Great color, deep pitch blacks. Crazy bright screen. And it actually has more features than I was even aware of, including the ability to play cloud gaming via Xbox, Luna, etc, directly on the TV without the need for a game console. Plus it's got Samsung Smart things built in. It's not cheap, but it's a REALLY great tv so far!

    Despite my horrific experience, I still believe Samsung is a great company and QD-OLED is a technology worth owning. That said, my 77" S90D died just 60 days from purchase. That is just 30 days past Best Buy's return window. And yet, despite Best Buy's rules and policies, I feel like they should have made an exception for this problematic model. FACT: Best Buy is very aware of the issues surrounding this Tv, because it's a well known, well documented issue. So should you buy this tv? If you recognize the value of the Quantum Dot technology, then yes, I'd say go for it, but just remember this: If you buy the 77" model, there is a solid 80% chance the power board inside your tv will die and you will have to get it repaired. Odds are the power board will fail more than 30 days into ownership, but less than a year. This means the tv repair should be covered under Samsung's warranty. The repair will involve contacting Samsung, answering all of their questions with: "Yes sir, I tried that. Yes sir, I also tried that." Once your Samsung representative is convinced you've done everything he has asked, he will then schedule a repair appointment. The appointment will be 7-28 business days in to the future, so be prepared to wait, and wait, and wait. On the date of your appointment, a local technician from a 3rd party service center will arrive to repair your tv. Watch them like a hawk. If you're not on top of situation, it's entirely possible your furniture could be damaged by accident, by the technicians. Insist on any nearby furniture be covered with heavy protective blankets. Finally, have several brand new microfiber clothes available to clean the screen. Any technician or team of technicians who come to repair your tv will leave it filthy and smudged with grease, oil and dirt. It will be on you to clean it and believe me, you will want to badly.     Purchased this TV as a replacement to the 65” that I previously owned. The picture on this model surpassed my expectations. The contrast is stunning. Samsung OLED televisions in my opinion deliver the best resolutions. Connect this with a Samsung soundbar and sit back and be mesmerized. Would recommend this model over the LGs and Even the Sony Bravia.
