Bought this 82” tv based on good experience with prior Samsung. I use a Roku Ultra for all inputs into the tv. Audio goes to a Yamaha receiver via HDMI. Pros: easiest set up I have ever seen. Plugged one cable in at a time and it immediately identified the device and configured TV. Never touched any setup menu. Packaging was well thought out. Made unboxing and setting up this big unit a breeze. Price. Given the cons that follow I still feel I got good value Cons: Sound. The Yamaha amp would send the volume level to the prior tv’s screen so we can see if it is high/low. This model displays that volume up or down was pressed but does not show the actual level. Delay. There is a delay in the response of the remote. Does not bother me as I use the roku’s remote (going to the Roku) which has no delay. With this big screen the 60hz refresh rate is really insufficient for sports. Great for other viewing. Don’t think this is a con on this model but something buyers should be aware of with any large tv. Signal loss. This is the only real annoyance that Samsung needs to address. Sometimes when I pause the streaming , Samsung puts up a message that signal is lost. A menu comes up to resolve it but I would need to get up and find the TV’s remote. This also happens when I switch the Roku between streaming services. About half the time it cures itself if you (blindly) press Roku buttons. But the other half of the time I need to restart Roku or return to rokus Home Screen reestablish a signal. I have 4 TVs with 4 Rokus and this is the only TV with an issue. I have swapped the rokus and it persists so it is not, IMHO, an issue with Roku. TV came with half dozen individual pages / pamphlets etc - all too small to actually read. And who really wants to store this stuff. Manufacturers need to do a better job providing this info digitally too.

It’s a really great flat screen TV! It fits so beautifully on my wall! I absolutely love the visual qualities and the fact you can browse from a variety of different channels! Netflix, Hulu, Prime, YouTube, etc.

This television has a great picture and size for the price. Sports are fun to watch and revisiting my favorite films in 4k has been amazing. The functionality is a little lacking. It tends to run a little slow and has issues staying connected to wifi sometimes. In all fairness, for the price I really can't complain and have gotten great enjoyment out of it.

my last tv was a 82 inch mitsubishi projection tv and the difference between the 82 inch crystal uhd and the old one is unreal,i havent even hooked up the home theater yet cause with the volume its got you dont realy need to for regular watching.at first it didnt but when i was going through the menu i saw one that said amp and turned it on now it sounds great and the picture is crystal clear with great looking colors. its well worth the money. its one of the easiest tvs ive ever hooked up 1 hdmi cable from cable box to tv and 1 hdmi cable from blueray to tv and its up and running looking and sounding great.

I LOVE this television. This is the 3rd one I have purchased. It has an amazing screen, it is easy to use, easy to see and a great quality. I got this last one during a Memorial Day sale were it went on sale for $1199. For an 82" TV!!!! When I purchased my first one of this size, it was $2500, the 2nd one was $2000 - it is amazing that during sales you can get a television of this size for close to $1000 now. I highly recommend this brand - samsung is great!!

I've had this TV for a few months now. It has been fantastic. The picture is amazing. The interface is fast and easy to use. the build quality seems to be top notch. You DO need to adjust the settings once you start using it though. Mine needed a software update to correct a blur issue on dark screens. The audio delay was also off out of the box but is easily corrected. The only negative i have is that the remote stopped working 2 weeks after I bought the tv. I can deal with using a different remote. The TV itself is awesome.

We moved from a 65" LG (same factory that makes the Samsung) to the 82" and my wife calls it GIANT. It is noticeably larger, but only for a short time, then in normalizes. Ours is wall mounted about 15' back of our sitting area, and runs through a Marantz receiver, 2 Klipsch towers and 1 Klipsch center channel speaker(s). The good to very good: There is no light bleed on any of the edges. The display is clear and precise (* I'll get more into this in the cons) The remote works well, and with the ability to tie it to a Samsung app, your phone doubles that function. Mounting is easy, but it is not a standard VESA mount. The vertical distance between the holes is much further than the standard VESA distances, so make sure if you wall mount you purchase a mount that spans that gap. The TV is heavy, and will take two people to hang it safely, or comfortably. The TV is also very thin for its massive diagonal display. Set up is intuitive from the remote (who has done this from the on TV buttons?) Cons: As I said there really are only two, one is important, the other is just a frustration. The main downfall is the shadowing and this comes from the low 60hz refresh rate. I mistakenly thought I read it was a 120hz refresh rate, which made my purchase price a steal. Only to find out when I got home, it was 60hz. The problem comes as images on your screen move, not in the form of a landscape camera pan, but when people are walking or running across the screen either L to R or R to L. If an image is moving forward or back, you never see shadows trailing the image. As such, if you intend on using this as a gaming display, you will not be happy. We are now accustom to it, but it is still a distraction. BUY A 120hz refresh TV. The frustration is the Samsung onscreen menu. Aside from a setting that allows you to resume your last app upon start up, I've not found a way to turn it off. As soon as you hit the Amazon or Netflix buttons it goes away. If someone has found a way to get rid of it, please share that info. On a much lesser, but comparable note. On the old LG remote, when I pushed either the Netflix or Amazon button the TV turned on, and went direct. This remote does not provide that functionality, so you have to power on, then select your destination button.

Had this for almost 4 weeks now and the picture quality looks amazing. Sound is what you’d most expect out of a flatscreen TV but it’s not bad either. It’s very easy to setup and has a lot of great smart features. The software has been a little bit delayed at times, but a majority of the time it’s smooth and easy to navigate with the remote control. Also, the picture is very clear and sharp with gaming & movies. Overall I would definitely recommend this TV for someone looking for a newer model within a cheaper budget.
