Love this TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a big fan of Samsung TV's. My most recent one was a 64" plasma. I absolutely LOVE that TV, but I wanted to get into 4k and wanted something bigger. When I saw the 82" Q8 QLED I knew I had to have it. Once mounted on the wall I was in love. This TV has a spectacular picture. Out of the box, using the Movie picture mode the colors are bright and vibrant and life-like. I can't wait to see how it looks once calibrated. One thing I just discovered is that the TV has a great feature where when you play a 4k HDR disc, it automatically changes the blacklight and contrast settings to take advantage of the expanded color gamut possible. When you go back to watching regular TV or a non-HDR disc the TV's settings will go back to what they were previously. You don't have to worry about changing your settings back and forth between HDR and non-HDR. Very cool. I briefly tried the Sony 85" X900F and although that TV also had a very good picture, the screen on the Samsung is MUCH better at dealing with glare. In my living room I have windows opposite of the TV that cast glare on the screen. With the Sony the glare was so bad that it made the TV unwatchable on a sunny afternoon. With the Samsung the glare is still there but it is much less noticeable. If you have a bright room then this is the TV for you. About the only drawback I have found is that, just like all LCD TV's, it sucks with motion blur. Sure you can turn on the motion settings but I HATE the soap opera look.

I bought a lemon
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV purchased 12/29/18. Installed by the Geek Squad mid January. By mid March a straight appeared on the screen from left to right. Called Samsung and they diagnosed the mother board had to be replaced. DONE. The following day, TV went completely black and it turned out the mother board had gone out a second time. TV was diagnosed as irreparable by Samsung tech. Terrible nightmare, nearly causing me a heart attack.

Complete lack of customer support
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, let me say that the TV itself is nice. BUT if you have a problem you are in for some major headaches dealing with Samsung customer support. 2 months after I bought this TV, a horizonal line appeared all the way across the screen. I called customer service to get it fixed. They scheduled a technician to come to my house to take a look at the TV. When the technician called me, they told me that I had to take the TV off the wall myself. When I told them that I was unable to due to a shoulder injury, they said it wasn't their problem and I needed to call Samsung and hung up on me. When I called Samsung back to have them take it off the wall I was told that they don't do that and I would have to pay someone to have it removed. Nobody should have to pay to get any kind of service done on a product that is only 2 months old. After weeks of being transferred to lines that nobody answers and promises of call backs, I still haven't made any progress in getting my TV fixed. Now it has been 5 months since I bought the TV and the only progress that I have made is that they are unable to repair it and have to replace it. However, they are still saying that I must pay to get it removed from the wall and they MIGHT reimburse me. This is lack of care for customers is why I will never buy another Samsung TV and I do not recommend you buy one either.

Horrible with fast motion
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV was big but it does NOT handle fast motion at all! Very blurry and pixelated watching football games. Also very dark on the movie setting which is the only setting that handles small amounts of motion, and not very well. The colors are also muddy and not crisp and clear. We are Elite Bestbuy rewards member and had 45 days to decide if we wanted to exchange this TV, it only look us 5 days to place an exchange order. Our exchanged TV is a smaller but also more affordable LG OLED C8 65 Inch and it handles the motion perfectly right out of the box. We get more accurate and deep saturated colors with amazing contrast as well from the LG. My advice is skip this Samsung Q8F. Which is painful to say because we are usually big Samsung fans and own a 6 year old Samsung plasma that we still love and has better picture quality than this Q8F.
