I came from a Samsung 75 inch 4k QLED tv that was great but we were looking to fill our wall so decided to go with an 85”. Initially we were just goong to go the same route with a bigger screen size until i stumbled upon this one on sale. WOW! Best way to describe this tv. We paired it with the Samsung 11.1 soundbar and the package is pretty incredible. The upscaling is a little Ai at times but for the most part, the picture is insanely clear and bright. The os is what youd expect from a Samsung. All in all, I never knew I needed 8k until I got one.

The Good: great colors, good blacks for mini-led, super bright (maybe too bright, I have to turn the brightness to avoid eye-watering sear) and I love the size. The viewing angles appear to be solid. Great for games at 60 & 120 fps (at 30fps, I've seen an odd black ghosting effect on some games that goes away at 60+, but I'm not sure this is the fault of the TV or not).
The middle: the 8k has no appreciable effect on the image (I bought this when it was roughly the same price as a comparable 85" 4k, so I figured why not... but don't spend any extra for the 8k). The speakers aren't as good as expected for their output and size, they end up being as good, maybe only slightly better/louder than any other built-in TV speakers.
The Bad: The "anti-glare" coating is a joke and no better, possibly worse, than my other displays that do not list this feature, and it creates terrible rainbow effects. The blooming is very noticable, even on the lower brightness settings. The entire interface user experience is awful, the menu, settings access, app and input organization, the limited remote buttons with stupid app buttons (that will be accidently pressed at some point)... things that should be simple and easy will unessecarily annoying.
The VERY BAD:
There is a very strange and highly apparent grainy/pixelation effect to a lot of content (on blue ray, built-in apps, and via hdmi, but depends on what you're watching). I can see similar blurred grain on other displays but on this QN800B that grain/pixels have constant movement that is very distracting and ruins the image experience especially in brighter scenes). I performed resets, tried every setting, and tried firmware update. I called this in to total tech, the tech said there is no setting which could fix this issue, so had it replaced with a 2nd one, hoping the 1st was a dud; it was not, same thing on 2nd copy, and the install techs were amazed how bad it was and said they've never seen such a problem. This effect isn't apparent on all content, very hard to notice on games, and doesn't appear at all on youtube (built-in or via hdmi)... my older samsungs actually appear to have a smoother, cleaner, crisper image (though not as good for color, blacks, etc.). I wonder if this is fault of the AI upscaler but there is no user-acessible way to turn this on/off so I can't say for sure.
Bottom-line: Good mini-led TV features, great gaming experience, mixed TV-watching experience. I can't recommend this product due the VERY BAD reasoning given above.

Pros:
8K (Great for 4K content at distance)
HDR and HDR+
Great Color and Contrast
8K upscaling great!
Good built in sound
Cons;
No Dolby Vision
Intelligent optimization requires internet connection
No live resolution / audio info
Yes there isn’t much 8K content, but this TV is great for 4K content when sitting at the other end of a large room. Even 1080p content looks amazing on this TV.
The TV supports HDR and HDR+ but not Dolby Vision. HDR+ is nearly the same quality as Dolby Vision but not quite and sadly (so far) Dolby Vision is a more popular format. I hope Samsung puts out a firmware for Dolby Vision, I would be happy to pay an upgrade fee for this. But certification of old products is unlikely to ever happen so we are stuck forever without the more prevalent Dolby Vision color grading.
The built on speaker system was really good, could use more bass but better than my old Sony stereo sound bar. I ended up buying a Samsung 11.1.4 sound bar that works in connection with the TV’s speakers and it’s even more awesome! They call it Q Symphony.
The thing I hate the most is the intelligent picture settings (that adjust brightness and other settings based on ambient light) don’t work without an internet connection. It complains that it doesn’t know what time of day it is even though the time is set manually.
Samsung spent a lot of time creating it’s own operating system and built in apps. Kind of pointless, no one should use their OS and apps. I have owned Samsung TVs for decades. It won’t be long before the OS and apps stop receiving updates and stop working with your streaming devices. Just buy an external Roku or Fire Stick.
If Samsung could add one thing it would be the ability to show an onscreen display that details the video resolution, bitrate and audio specs of the currently playing video. It’s tough these days to figure out if the content I am watching is 1080, 4K, HDR, HDR+, etc.

5/5 would recommend. Got it Black Friday for $2500 when it was originally $8k when it first came out. Had a couple issues initially but Best Buy customer service/ Geek Squad fixed them. It took 5 weeks and 3 deliveries but were thoroughly happy with the end result.

This tv turned my family room into a theater. The 85 inch screen size is large, but can a tv ever be too large? The upgraded 8k picture is incredible, and the sound is really great. After a month of use I am still amazed every time I watch this tv. I originally was looking at OLED, but after reading professional reviews discovered QLED is better suited for rooms with lots of natural sunlight. This tv is BRIGHT!

Very Heavy TV to try and wall mount.
Weighs around 200 lbs.
Great picture but not as vivid of a change as going from an LCD to my other brand of LED 4K.
Obviously not much content is aired in 8K but when it does I am set with the right TV.
Still can throw off some heat since it is an 85" TV.
Salesman talked me into a sound bar and I have yet to get it installed. Only had the TV 2-3 weeks.

Not much content available to watch on 8k but 8k on a PS5 with this tv is breathtaking!
The upscaling ai helps noticeably in improving visual quality for a 85inch screen especially when viewing older content. Sound wise leave a bit to be desired but for a stock tv it’s way above average.

I wasn't really considering an 8K tv but the store did not have my first several choices. My first several choices had long delivery waits or were just not available nearby (whatever that means). The salesman said that he found one of my top choices that could be delivered soon (but it wasn't one of my choices, it was this one). I felt like I was settling for something less than I wanted and getting 8k that couldn't really be used. I ordered it anyway because lightning killed our main tv a couple of weeks earlier and it was time.... This unit has a way better picture than our 4k unit that was several years old, I guess its the 8k upconversion and or the mini-led backlighting. I love the remote connection box that is similar to "The Frame". Its really nice having just one cable to hide between the tv and the rest of the electronics. I havent tried the built in speakers but it sounds great on my Dolby Atmos soundbar system. The only thing I would change is to add a non-reflective screen like Samsung uses on some of their other tvs. When the screen is displaying dark scenes the reflection from the room lights is quite noticeable. Overall we love this tv and while I thought I was settling for something other than I wanted I am really happy with it.

Coming from a 65” LG OLED I wanted something bigger without sacrificing the quality of picture I have been used to. This television is an absolute beast, the blacks are extremely close to OLED with one true advantage and that is the brightness that QLED offers. I find this television to be a better fit for my home because it is bright. If you are a “cord cutter”, the Samsung OS offers a huge catalog of free channels at great quality far more than LG and Sony offer (I have both brands). I have yet to find a streaming service that is not supported, and I have nearly all of them so there is no need for external streaming devices. The sound is a bit above par for a television, but I recommend a good sound bar to match the picture level. Best TV I’ve ever purchased!

I put the 900C 85" in the main living room and bought this QN800 for the man cave in the basement along with a top of the line SS Q 11.1.4 soundbar system. Everything paired right up and the OneConnect box is a great feature so you can locate the Connect box inside the tv furniture and hook up all you assorted streaming and cable devices without having to move the tv once you set it in place.
The Samsung Q-soundbar setup is the way to go if you don't want to do the audiophile route and run wires to 8 speakers and a subwoofer to your Home Theater Receiver. The Q soundbar also uses your television speakers as well to give your voice dialogue a bit more clarity as well.
Very nice set and a worthy tv for those who may find the 900C stretches the budget too much.
