Amazing TV. Great features. Great picture. But - There are two issues that ruin it. 1. Bright Dot Grid: Mid-tones reveal bright backlit spots/dots. If the mid tone is consistent enough, you can see multiple of them in a grid-like pattern. If the brightness of the image varies greatly, in time and/or space, like in an action movie, you won’t notice. But in less contrasting, more persistent images, the grid of dots is very distinct. Enough exposure to this grid will makes you notice it even when less prevalent. You see artifacts of the dots ghost across a section of the screen during a cross fade or a cloudy day. 2. Black Bar Pulsing: This refers to the black bars on the top and bottom of the screen while watching a theatrical, wide screen movie. The microLED are designed for local dimming. Blacks are BLACK. A fully black image will make it look like your TV isn’t on. The black bars will also turn completely black. However, the software doesn’t seem to distinguish these bars as separate from the movie image itself. The application of the dimming is applied to a calculated local group. If the areas of the image near the black bar dip in and out of black - the local dimming will think that the black part of the image and the black bar(s) are part of the same local group of pixels for an instant. And when the image comes back out of black, the black bars will pulse brighter with the image for an instant, until the processor calculates that the black bars are their own local group again and turns them black again. This results in the black bars pulsing in and out of black during darker scenes. Which can be very distracting. I’m actually highly disappointed that Samsung could not determine a software fix for this. It should not be difficult for the TV to identify black bars and isolate them from the local dimming.

Outstanding picture very bright 3d like image. Blew my SONY 950h out of the water . There is some blooming however it is minimal. Sound is ok for super thin tv . I have 1000watts of 7.2 atmos sound to complete the experience Happy so far, it takes time to dial it in . Time will tell.

We absolutely love this TV the picture quality is great, and the size was exactly what we were looking for. Great for movies, sports games and Tv.

The TV had an error message about the one connect box, I contacted Samsung to use the 30day warranty. A few techs came to the house all pointing to the one connect box. Samsung said Best Buy swapped the box with another tv and it’s no longer a warranty issue. I went to Best Buy only to be told they can’t even order the box anymore. The TV is a great TV the it’s works on and off. I hope I can find a fix b4 I run out of Best Buy warranty.

Incredible picture quality with 8k performance and sound

This TV is so impressive with all the 85 inches of the viewing screen. Now that were into the American Football season, the games are just like sitting in the stadium.

I purchased this and it worked perfectly for about 30 minutes. It was under warranty, so I made the necessary calls and the panel was replaced. These things happen. The tv is awesome and I now have no complaints.

Installation was great and the unit is Superb! The picture has tons of light and it crystal clear! The tv experience is amazing!!!

Great viewing pleasure, I have an LG 4K 86" which is nice but this 8K is the absolute best.

This is a very good TV. I do see some blooming but nothing that keeps me from enjoying the picture and that is partly because my main viewing position is off to the side of the television. With that out of the way I love the changes to the one connect box that include the smaller size and mount on the back of the stand are great additions. We primarily watch streaming content and play video games on this TV and everything looks really good. I like the software updates, one that sticks out is Split View for the picture by picture view for looking at multiple content. The sound is good but I still use a sound bar and the Samsung 950T works great with it. The picture is really bright and it handles reflections very well which is one of the big reasons I got this television for my family room which has a lot of light from windows and inside lighting. Reflections in the room can be a problem but this television handles them very well. The new remote is also great and I like that I don’t need batteries for it. Early on I did have some software glitches where the resolution would not display properly because of game mode but I have not had any problems recently. While it is a bit pricey and I have had some minor issues I am very happy with my purchase.

Great picture and the size is just soooo big. this is by far the best TV picture I have ever experienced. Even without 8K content, the quality of 4K blu-ray movies is outstanding. I think the upscaling processor is doing a fantastic job. Also 4K Netflix material looks great on that TV. Overall I am really enjoying watching on this TV. However, setting this TV up was painful. Besides the weight (get somebody strong helping you) I spent about two hours navigating buggy software and connection issues. First I tried the easy option to set the TVup with my phone. This failed multiple times and was very cumbersome to get out of. Then I tired setting this TV up using my remote. I have long passcodes for my account and wifi… Anyway, before using this TV‘s smart features, you have to agree to the T&C. The TV failed to download them due to a „unstable Internet connection“ I have Gigspeed at home! Turns out, the TV could not obtain a DNS address. After connecting to a hotspot on my phone, I couple get started. That took me two hours to sort out and now the connection to my router works w/o issues. But the s/w has glitches. on my other TV I was using a Samsung sound bar via optical connection. On this TV, all the audio enhancements were gone. I had to go though a HDMI connection and had big trouble getting sound out for about 1 hour. Randomly it worked, then not, then again. Same with my Sansung blu-ray player. first recognized, then not then as generic BR player. Sometimes the remote can be used, sometimes not. That all is very frustrating, specifically at this price point. I am still not sure keeping this TV. Will see how many software glitches I discover. Also, having gig speed Internet, I have buffering in my XFINITY stream app. Using my Roku, I do not. But since I have my sound bar now blocking a HDMI, I need to swap devices to use my Roku. Samsung used to have great TV software on some of the ol,der models, but this new interface is hard to love. Summary: probably the best screen you can buy, but the connections glitches and device problems put a shadow on this.

I’ve had Samsung TVs for nearly 15 years and this is my 6th Samsung. I watch a lot of tv, stream all of my content, and have subscriptions to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Disney+, AppleTV+, Discovery+, HBO, Showtime, and stream Spectrum TV without a cable box. When deciding which tv to get, I was going back and forth between a 75” and 85”. After a lot of measuring, I ultimately decided to get the 85” version, which I thought might be a little too big but is actually the perfect size for my living room. This 85” version of this tv isn’t cheap and to be honest I was a little apprehensive to spend so much on a television, especially with not much native 8k content out there. I went ahead and pulled the trigger. The Geek Squad did an amazing job installing the tv. Setup was super easy. The picture on this tv is amazing. The upscaled 4K content is impressive and native 8k video, if you can get it, is down right mesmerizing. My parents were at my house yesterday waiting for some workers to come by to finish installing final items for my bathroom remodel. Now I haven’t told my parents I bought a new tv. They unknowingly watched 4K content upscaled to 8K for about 90 minutes while the work crew finished. My mom commented to me last night about the tv. She said “god, you have a really nice picture on your tv. A really nice picture!” One thing about this tv is that it is crazy bright. I mean, If I have one complaint it might be the tv is a little too bright. Thankfully that can be changed in the settings. But when I’m watching tv at night in the dark without any other lights on, it can seem a little too bright. I use ambient lighting in the room and that helps a lot. If you’re on the fence, my suggestion is to make the jump. It’s worth every penny.

I am not a techie person. I lack a lot of jargon when describing the performance/technical data about electronics in a general sense. What I can do is reference and compare information between like items such as tv's. I have spent an inordinate amount of time referencing, going to different Best Buys and comparing information from Geek Squad personnel, and sales personnel in general. I relied on their expertise, and was able to gain insights and developed a great deal of understanding about the different tv product lines. I wanted to move up to what I perceived was '' Something Special'', and I did! There was no contest after comparing the Samsung-85'' Class QN800A Series Neo QLED 8K UHD Smart Wizen TV to all the other brands. After all the amount of investment I was going to make-- it better be good! The picture quality, color and overall performance is simply the best I have ever experienced. My son came over to check out what I bought. He just smiled and said,'' dad, you did good, and welcome to the real world!" He is 37 and a lot smarter than I am when comes to electronics, but I had him on this one. My wife is especially happy, as our entertainment has now raised to a new and higher level!
