So yeah, this TV SUCKS!!! we are on our 2nd tv of this brand. First one arrived broken. Fought w/bb. Now we've had this one 10mos & we only watch it a few hours per day/eve. Turned it on one day screen has black lines through it & when we attempted to turn back on, it wouldn't. We suspected a power surge bc surge protector no longer works. Samsung tech comes out LITERALLY LESS THAN 5MINS. Says nope not covered $3300 to fix. Later to learn tech LIED OVER & OVER in his report. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG TV & ESPECIALLY NOT THIS ONE!! AND best buy will not refund the extra warranty we purchased (that goes in effect after manufacturer warranty) HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!!!

The panel is extremely heavy and poorly padded internally, leading to inevitable hotspotting on the bottom of the TV. Avoid this TV at all costs unless you’re prepared to deal with Best Buy’s lack of support and constant out-of-warranty $2,000 repairs—which are likely to fail again within six months.

This supposed to be an exchange but the store clerk managed to charge me two transactions. He returned the previous purchase and set up a separate delivery and a pick up charging me for a dismounting and a new install. At the end the old tv got damaged and they’re having me paying for it . It’s a shame.. I will never buy from Best Buy again, nor would I recommend it to anyone

The Tv has phenomenal 4K upscaling, especially for its large size! Local dimming control is far better than last year. The QN800C is a powerhouse of a TV! Samsung you hit a Homerun this year!

It's a downgrade

The picture is relatively good, I don't really care for its algorithms for upgrading older content like some B&W shows. Some good-some terrible.
The computer is the slowest of any Samsung I have EVER owned. I am still using my 4k and it flies through the menus but the 8K creeps and jumps.
Customer Service is the standard Samsung affair. No one there knows how to operate their own equipment. After about 5 calls and different agents, I finally found an agent that actually knew how to manage the TV's controls and menus. Well Most of them anyway. Even at that,
There is no consistency in the software and this seems to go along to a similar software update on my old 4K TV.
They have hidden controls and features under many layers of clicks, where no sensible person would think of going to find them. Even little things like which side the cable sockets are on have changed requiring a total Re-design of all of my equipment in the entertainment center. That or buy $100s worth of new LONGER cables to accommodate their foolish engineer's changes.
Hey the stand is solid and secure!

eesarhaddon,
We appreciate your feedback on the response time, and for optimal performance, we ask that you please ensure you've got the latest firmware version installed on your QN800C TV. You can check this by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
You may also want to further optimize performance with the self-diagnostic tool, which checks memory, frees up unused cached memory, and closes background apps. Go to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Device Care > Start Device Care
If you're still experiencing any lag, please also try discharging or cold booting your TV, as this will drain the charge and reset the main board. You can cold boot your TV 2 ways:
1. With the Samsung TV remote - With the TV turned on, press and hold the power button on your remote. - Continue holding the power button while the TV powers off and back on.
2. Without the Samsung TV remote - With the TV turned on, unplug the TV's power cord from the power outlet and wait 30 seconds. - Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn the TV back on.
While the QN800C will upscale as best as possible any content sent to it, the higher your content resolution is, the better the image will look on the screen. Here are some tips to help improve the picture clarity:
1. HDMI cables are recommended for optimal HD viewing. 2. If you have an analog cable box or satellite box, upgrade to a digital cable box or satellite box. 3. Change the output resolution of your devices, such as digital broadcast receiver, IPTV, and set-top box to UHD or HD. 4. You can further adjust your sharpness, brightness, contrast, color, and more by going to Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings 5. Choose a Picture Mode by going to Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode and choose from Dynamic, Movie, or Filmmaker Mode.
Lastly, although some options need to be accessed from within the Home Screen, please know you can quickly access your TV Settings by pressing the Settings/Number/Color button (below the power button) on your remote. Here’s how to use it:
1. Press the Settings/Number/Color button on your remote. 2. Press the UP directional button on your remote. When you press this button, the Settings menu/Virtual number pad/Color pad are displayed. 3. From the Settings menu, you can quickly set the options of your frequently used functions. For advanced settings, select All Settings.
I hope these tips help you enjoy your new product. You can always contact us for further help at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Better This Year Than Last Year!

Samsung did very well on their Mini-LED TVs this year! The colors are not as oversaturated as the previous years model and Tizen is much more responsive and clean. However, Samsung continues refusing to aquire the Dolby Vision licensing and the color depth is just not up to par with other TVs in this price range.

Scott,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Samsung's QN800C TV. If the image you’re seeing isn’t to your liking, there are several picture settings you may want to adjust.
Go to Home > left direction button > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode ...and select the mode that best fits your usage: 1. Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments 2. Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments 3. Eco: Provided to save energy 4. Movie: Suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room 5. Filmmaker Mode: Provides source content just as the creators intended. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it’ll automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.
You can also fine-tune your picture with expert settings such as brightness, contrast, sharpness and more (All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings).
For further assistance with settings adjustments, please contact Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link for: • LiveChat • Manuals, Software, & Warranty Info

Today, I purchased and had one of these delivered and installed by the Best Buy Geek Squad. I wantto make clear that the Best Buy guys were incredibly good. But after installing the set, he said, This set is DOA. He found another set at another location and after 90 minutes, he returned with the large, heavy box with the TV, a large smile on his face They perfectly install the set. He turned it on. It worked perfectly for 5 whole minutes and then the picture faded. The installer could notget it working because we had panel failure. They have my money I have a busted TV, a rightfully angry wife, and NO solution in. Sigjt.
