Purchased in 06/21 and on 04/08/23 TV picture failed. Wall mounted and TV remained untouched. As you can see in the photo, there is a shadow image that is permanent. TV lasted less than 2 yrs. For an almost $4,000 tv, you expect it to last several years without major issues.
Researching a fix, I found many others have had a similar picture quality issue.

Bottom line, I purchased a Samsung - 85" Class QN85A Neo QLED 4K UHD Smart Tizen TV from my local Best Buy store and had the Geek Squad set it up. The results are in the picture attachments. It is a full blown prism display of light reflection covering two thirds of the 85 inch screen during the daylight hours. The reflection is from a window about 15 feet to the right of the TV. As you can see in the pictures that the reflection does interfere with the TV picture view, something which Samsung denies.
No doubt Samsung will soon follow up this review with their standard response:
Thank you for your review of the QN85A Neo QLED TV and for sharing your feedback regarding screen glare, they’ll say.
Please know that your TV is engineered with Anti-Reflection Technology, they’ll say.
Designed to minimize ambient light reflections, they’ll say.
We understand that light conditions of each room environment are different, they’ll say.
For optimal glare control, we recommend repositioning the TV to minimize incident light falling on the screen or consulting a professional installer they’ll say.
Reposition the TV??? It’s an 85 inch TV. Where do they think I am going to reposition it to?
I say how about Samsung manufacture a better product for the costumers instead of sending out automated replies which does nothing for the customer that just spent 3 thousand dollars to purchase their product.
This is unacceptable and inexcusable for a 3000 dollar TV. My hope is that Samsung will step up here and do the right thing instead of giving meager excuses and unrealistic advice. I know every panel is different on every TV and that each panel must meet a certain required tolerant threshold, but the one I purchased below from Best Buy should have never made it past Samsungs quality control unit…

Annoying rainbow! The picture is good if all the room lights are OFF. It is not practical. Not good if turn on the lights and watch.

Tv is very good with nice sound system. But guys it reflects every possible light in a rainbow format. May be the neoqled glass has that bad feature. Anyhow it reflects all the lights.

TV has huge issues with glares. The anti glare built into the TV is a joke. Samsung has disappointed me again. You can sometimes see rainbows in the tV screen.

This tv has a phenomenal picture. The way that it about buying an 85 inch TV this is the one! Unlike the smaller sets, this ine uses a VA panel and blacks are deep! Hardly any blooming noticeable. Samsung knocked this one out of the park! upscales lower quality images is amazing! Bought this at $3K during early Black Friday sale. Absolutely worth it. Blows my 75” Sony X900H out of the water! Live television looks fantastic once I tweaked the settings. When streaming apps the system is quick and responsive.

This simply has everything we want in a TV. The wife hates large speakers and despite our LARGE living room area, the built-in speakers actually work incredibly well. It's not quite "theater" level experience, but we regularly play music by connecting our phones via Bluetooth to it and casting music for background ambience during parties and it delivers plenty of sound.
If you want a sub, look for an external speaker solution to get the rumble experience.
Overall, the features of the TV hit all the marks!
My only concern is that the hardwired ethernet port for networking is only 100 Mbps. In 2023, gigabit should be standard even if the streaming services or apps never come close, it's just a future-proof thing I wish they would have considered.

The Only TV to Consider at 85"

After my previous TV started to face issues and after doing a ton of research for my next TV, I decided on the 85" QN85A and it's seriously been incredible. I struggled to find specific reviews for the 85" or that many people talking about it, but I can confirm that the 85" variant of the QN85A uses a VA panel, unlike all the other sizes for the QN85A which all use a modified IPS panel. 2 reasons why this is important:
1. The VA panel made by Samsung offers a way better contrast ratio than the IPS, meaning dark scenes have richer detail (crucial for Non-OLED displays where that's a typical weakness)
2. It also means that it shares the same VA panel found on the $500 more expensive QN90A.
What this means is you're basically getting the same picture and color quality as the QN90A for $500 cheaper. The only difference is that the QN90A *can* hit peak HDR brightness of 3,200 nits while this can *only* hit 2,400 nits. Let me be clear though, full peak brightness on this TV is PAINFULLY bright and there hasn't been one time where I really wished it could get brighter. The way I would describe it, this TV gets very painfully bright while the QN90A gets extremely painfully bright. Seriously it's overkill, there was an HDR scene of a car's headlights I was watching and it was legitimately as bright if not brighter than normal headlights. You do not need to splurge on the QN90A for some extra brightness, you almost already need sunglasses for this TV when maxed out.
Outside of Samsung's other products, how does this stack up against OLEDs from LG and Sony? Truth be told, I've had a lot of moments while watching this TV where I couldn't be convinced I wasn't looking at an OLED. The mini-LED local dimming is phenomenal on this TV and I promise the only way to tell that this isn't an OLED (outside of the fact that it gets insanely brighter than OLEDs) would be to have them side by side in an extremely dark room watching a scene of some stars. The blooming is hardly noticeable when looking for it several inches away from the TV and impossible to see from normal viewing distance.
On top of that, the quantum dots Samsung uses make colors POP like I've never seen before. Easily the most vibrant and colorful display I've ever seen - and that's what everyone immediately notices first anyway. I'm seeing content I've watched hundreds of times before in a way I never could've imagined. It seriously makes everything feel vibrant in an unreal way.
Everything else about this TV has been fantastic as well. The UI is fluid and fast, TV is super thin, bezels aren't noticeable at this size, and overall it's just an amazing experience. Don't think twice about this TV, it's absolutely phenomenal.

Honesty review, I do love it and quality is beautiful but to be honest with you as a customer point of view I would definitely would gone with another brand. Samsung did hype it all saying the best quality and reason the price is expensive but truth honest I would of just went with Sony brand you can really tell the difference. This tv is great but the price I am paying in my opinion is the brand name and the smart items it has but truth honest google assistance I hardly use. I still give it 5 starts because of the quality picture is there and beautiful with black actually showing blacks and sound speaker amazing, just price wise I think it could of been sold less to compared other smart tv and there quality.

After months of research, and hours of standing in front of different models on display, I chose to purchase the Samsung QN85A NeoQLED over the LG C1 OLED and I am beyond impressed with this TV! I chose the Samsung QLED based upon previous loyalty of the brand, and the brightness of this display. I do not experience ANY blooming as so many OLED fans talk about when comparing the two. I did not have to make any adjustments to the picture color/quality and it has been perfect since we opened the box! If I had anything negative to say about it, it would be the weight, and that is only because I chose to install this TV on my wall myself with only the help of my wife. This thing weighs a ton and is extremely cumbersome. I would recommend to anyone purchasing this TV to have it professionally installed! The Q Symphony feature is amazing as well! It truly gives the total theater experience!

Better than expected! I went from a 65 LG to this! What a difference! Everything we watch is awesome. We have Dish network and the local channels look the same, just bigger, lol, but the movies we stream on Netflix and prime are so much better. Especially if the movie uses the whole screen. The outdoor scenery in movies is out of this world. The only con is we have to go into settings every time we turn tv on to put the sound back to our receiver because it resets to tv speaker. The little remote is very nice also because it has a Netflix and Prime button right on it.

Big. Pretty. Large. Gorgeous. Don't know if the sound this tv produces is any good, because I just use it as a video monitor; all the audio from all sources goes through my Denon 5.1.2 Atmos home theater receiver. Of course, when you stream, even at 4K, there is some banding, but that's the streaming services fault. Watching native 4K UHD disks on my Samsung 4K player is beautiful and intense. Even older DVDs look quite nice with the upsampling. Eighty-five inches is, well, we had to move the viewing couch back 2 feet.
