Twice I had to return this TV. Straight from box was broken when they installed it. Returned got another one. Once the replacement was installed one day later picture was showing a shadow on bottom right. All the way up to half the screen. Don't know if it's bad luck or bad product. Going for a 3rd time maybe 3rd time is the charm. Fingers crossed.

On my second one of these. The first one just flashed on and off. The second one has a dead pixel a foot down and a foot over from the right side of top of the screen. Looks like Quality Control is not a thing this late on this model.

Thumbs up! This 85” is a huge upgrade over our Samsung 75” UHD (still a great TV but it was also 5 years old). Visual quality for games and 4K is fantastic. Blacks are really good - even when compared to the blacks on OLED TV’s like LG. Color pops off the screen. Menu takes some getting used to but is navigable. It’s a heavy TV so when setting it up, either pay for techs to do it or have 2 others besides yourself. I and a friend lifted it onto my TV stand am we both strained our backs a little. Remote is recharged via either a solar panel on the back or USB. Xbox games are phenomenal at 120Hz and 4K media on discs (much better compared to streaming - my opinion) is a huge leap in quality compared to the old 75”.

Best TV my eyes have seen, works always and is vivid beyong belief. Bright, dark, colorful, fast and brilliant. Its HDR colors are perfect, makes everything look so perfect I just can't have a bad time viewing anything. I have an Xbox connected to it and it utilizes it's maximum potential. 120hz at 4k with HDR, freesync and Variable refresh rate. It checks all boxes for perfect picture. Yes, its real 120hz, not motion plus. Playing games at 4k and seeing 120fps is outstanding. No matter your expectations for this tv, actually having it and using it will surpass them. 6 out of 5 stars.

I did not realize how big of a jump forward the image quality would be until I saw it for myself in my living room. I know there is debate about the deep blacks not being as “pure” as OLED. Unless you have a trained eye and just want there to be some deficiency in the visualized black, I do not see the loss of black while in-home viewing. Of course, when you see a QLED and OLED side by side in the store, the OLED has the darker, deeper black. However, the QLED has the more authentic bright and vibrant colors. In-home, I find it to be a great mix of both color and black that is satisfying to the eye.
If you are wanting to get the full theater effect in a medium to large room, this tv will hit that mark. I upsized from a 75 inch to this 85 inch. Before I made the purchase, I went back and forth about if the extra 10 inches in diagonal size warranted the size upgrade. It does. It really does. The difference in image size from a tv in the same spot is evident. I think having the minimal bezel helps to give the image an even larger appearance.
So far, I have had this tv for about a month and a half, and I am very happy with the purchase. The image quality is great, both day and night. I have a large window with plenty of sun during the day and I do not see a huge loss in image quality like some have said. I can definitely see the anti-reflective characteristics of the screen. There is no major image loss for me. I have, from time to time, see a slight image “blur” when watching a high-action, fast paced scene. It is not noticeable enough to complain about.
The operating system takes a few tries to get used to, but now I move through it just like I had with my replaced tv. I like having on-screen access to all the major tv and movie apps at the push of one button.
The sound quality is lacking, but let’s be honest here. If you are spending the money on a tv this size, you most likely either have or will be purchasing a sound bar or surround system. I personally have a Sonos surround system, and it complements the size of the tv with great immersive sound that is an in-home theater quality.
This tv is heavy! Have help ready to move the box and when it’s time to remove it from the box. On that note, I viewed numerous reviews on YouTube prior to purchase, and I found this one account, B the Installer, who does great tv installations and reviews. He has a great install instruction video for the box breakdown of this tv where you use the bottom of the box and the Styrofoam inserts to hold the tv in place while you attach the (Heavy) tv stand. These instructions came in VERY handy. Once assembled, all you do is connect power and components, let it download the latest updates, and then you are good to go!

Risk purchase was SO worth it! Best Buy did not have a floor display near me and unfortunately could not see the 85" version before purchasing but was reassured by sales staff that the smaller version was a good comparison. After blue-taping the wall to make sure this was the size I needed (wanted), I took the plunge. Picture is as described by other reviewers: GORGEOUS, amazing, superb, etc. Interface is fast and relatively intuitive.
Some thoughts to consider:
-This thing is a beast and was glad to have had it delivered and installed by GeekSquad
-If you do get the 85" be sure to request 3 people for installation if you plan to have it installed higher than maybe 4-5ft off the ground. My installer informed me on the day of delivery that the standard 2 person crew could not install even just a few inches above their max height for safety reasons. They were gracious and rescheduled to come back with a 3rd person later in the week and I was glad to have it done right, even if I had to wait. Also, It helped to know exactly where I wanted the tv before hand.
Some thoughts:
-Find the right mount: I went with the Best Buy recommendation after also purchasing 2 others from Amazon that did not instill the highest confidence even though they were highly reviewed and crossed off all the requirements on paper.
-Your streaming services, cable, etc. will likely not show off the true capability of this tv. If you want to test it out, watch a 4k/8k HD ultra video on the YouTube app on your new tv and be prepared to drool.
-Resolution: should I have gone with the 8k? Meh - I haven't really thought about it since I purchased the tv since the picture quality is already great (and really limited by what you're viewing anyway). I am sure I would have enjoyed the 8k version when standing really close to the TV but otherwise no problem.
-Glare: this was a concern for me going into the purchase because the room has several large windows that would be placed pretty much to most angles of the tv ..and yet I have never once been frustrated by any glare.

TV's are like a hobby for me and I currently own a Samsung 85” Q90R, 65” Sony AG9 OLED, and I just recently purchased an 85” QN90A. I also had a display Samsung 8K Q950TS for a couple of weeks before the panel had issues.
Specifically, I really like the 85” QN90A! It looks like an OLED and has some OLED qualities. It looks great, it has black blacks and white whites, its bright, its big, its thin, and the picture is phenomenal! To Samsung...I would pay an extra $500 for an infinity no bezel screen and a one connect box. My only complaint is it has some jitters with older content when the film mode is on or off. I refuse to use any motion processing as it looks fake to me. But overall, it’s the best LED/LCD I have owned and closer to an OLED than ever before!
I even prefer the QN90A over the 8K Q950TS. I observed that, 1080i, 1080p, and 4k content does not benefit much from being shown on an 8k TV. I argue that contrast is still the most important thing for a TV. The Q950TS may have looked a little cooler due to the infinity screen, but the blacks are blacker and the whites whiter on the QN90A. The QN90A in my opinion has a better picture than the very expensive Q950TS.
I probably still prefer the Sony AG9 and all OLEDs over any LED/LCD, but the QN90A is still impressive and a much better value! I chose the 85” QN90A over an 83” OLED because it was $1,300 cheaper (and $500 BB gift card!) and 2 inches bigger. I never have any problems with the brightness of my OLED and the viewing angles and motion are perfect. However, in larger size TVs, OLEDs do not make economic sense. The QN90A is my choice until larger OLEDs are priced within 10%ish of Samsung’s best 4K QLED.
I like my Q90R. It’s a great TV. It doesn’t seem to have the sexyness or contrast of the QN90A. The QN90A is special and until OLED’s can price their larger TV’s comparable to the best 4K LEDs, I will continue to buy LED’s in bigger sizes especially after owning the QN90A.

The Samsung QN90A 85-inch TV is a flagship model that delivers an exceptional viewing experience with its impressive features and picture quality.
One of the standout features of this TV is its QLED technology, which produces vibrant and lifelike colors with excellent contrast. The Quantum Dot technology used in the display enhances color accuracy and brightness, resulting in a visually stunning picture. Additionally, the TV supports HDR content, allowing for a wider range of colors and improved detail in bright and dark scenes.
The QN90A also boasts an impressive 4K resolution, providing sharp and detailed visuals. Whether you're watching movies, sports, or playing video games, the TV delivers stunning clarity and immersive visuals.
The TV features a Full Array Local Dimming Pro backlighting system, which enhances contrast and black levels. This helps to create deeper blacks and more precise lighting, resulting in improved picture quality and better overall viewing experience.
In terms of design, the QN90A offers a sleek and minimalist look with thin bezels and a slim profile. It blends seamlessly into any living room or entertainment setup. The TV also includes a One Connect Box, which helps to reduce cable clutter by centralizing all connections to a separate box that can be placed out of sight.
The QN90A comes with a comprehensive smart TV platform powered by Tizen. It provides access to a wide range of streaming services, apps, and a user-friendly interface. Voice control capabilities are also integrated, allowing you to control the TV using voice commands.
Another noteworthy feature is the impressive audio quality. The TV features Object Tracking Sound+, which uses built-in speakers and AI technology to create a three-dimensional sound experience. This helps to immerse you in the audio and enhances the overall viewing experience.
Overall, the Samsung QN90A 85-inch TV is a premium model that offers an immersive and visually stunning viewing experience. With its impressive picture quality, sleek design, smart features, and outstanding audio, it's an excellent choice for those seeking a top-of-the-line TV for their home entertainment setup.

Best 4K HDR 85” set on the market today!

If you are looking for a big screen with low glare, excellent off axis viewing angles and a picture so bright and so perfect you may want to consider sunglasses, this is for you.
This is the top of the line 4K HDR set in Samsung’s line up. There are exactly zero OLED sets of this size. There is no other set this bright, this black capable on the market in the 85” size. And it’s a bargain at $3,499!
If the price has dropped again, all that much of an even better value.
This set uses a new technology called mini-led, meaning sharper images, blacker blacks, and even high contrast even than last year’s model.
No burn in issues either with this technology.
I give it a strong buy recommendation.
Compare with Sony or even LG. Samsung beats them both especially at this price point and size.

This TV replaced a Vizio 65" P-Series in our gym. What an upgrade! The picture quality is stunning, and it's incredible to have a larger viewing area. I had done the research and in-store comparisons against OLED, the QN90B and other brands. OLED has a nice display but wasn't substantially different than the QN90a -- and we didn't like worrying about burn-in along with the higher cost. In the end, this was the screen with features we liked most. And best of all, we picked it up as a Open Box!

This TV looks incredible. The brightness and contrast is the best I’ve seen on a TV. The darkness of the blacks is close to OLED level. I personally prefer NeoQLED over OLED due to having bright rooms and not having the constant worry of possible burn-in (I understand it’s rare nowadays but it still can happen) This 2021 model comes with one HDMI 2.1 port so if your a gamer and need multiple 2.1 ports for your new consoles or PC, you may want to consider the 2022 model (QN90B) that has all 4 HDMI 2.1 ports but be prepared to pay double the price. Everything else between the 2021 model and 2022 model are almost the same and you can watch comparison videos or visit rtings site to see. I only needed one 2.1 port for my PS5 so I decided to save some money and get last years model. This is my first Samsung TV but definitely won’t be my last!

This Samsung 85” TV is awesome! The picture and color is great! Haven’t used the speakers in the TV as I got a sound bar to use with it. 85” TV makes it feel like a theater right in the living room! Remote control is rechargeable and solar powered too, so no more batteries which is nice. Smart features are nice, operate fast and smooth. Movies and videos games are fantastic on this HUGE screen! I’d definitely recommend this TV if you want a HUGE screen that’s great quality at a good price!

I can't say enough about this TV. Absolutely love it. Beautiful picture, fantastic size. I no longer need to go to the movie theater as often because I have this 85 inch behemoth in my living room. Also love the ease of the apps like Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, etc. It's easy to navigate to these apps and they run great. Happy I got it on sale for roughly $2300! Definitely worth it at this price or lower.

I spent a lot of time researching new TV's in 85" range. This one hit every personal category we wanted, and was happy to take the A model over the B model, 1-yr difference for a discount. This is the best non-OLED TV for the money. I would not pay full price for this, but happy to pay what we did for value. I run this through power conditioner and have upgraded cables through our 5.1 in-ceiling surround sound system. They work perfect together. We do not need to go to the movies anymore, we have it all at home! Picture is super clear, sports and action is awesome. We do like Samsung TV and Phones, which these can pair together to stream TV on from phone.

The best picture before 8k

I had the Q8F at 75 inches, and wanted the upgrade to 85, so I went for the Neo QLED (Mini-LED Technology) upgrade as well. I purposely avoided 8k because i just dont think its worth it yet (youtubers seem to agree). This is a very excellent picture, but make sure to buy HDMI 2.1 cables, or at least a 4k UHD cable. eARC is still complete garbage lol, but im not docking the star. I could not get the audio lag mitigated at all, and others experience the same. So I connected my series x to my soundbar via HDMI 2.1, and the soundbar output to the tv via high speed cable and so now i just cant use the hdmi 2.1 port because of that wretchedly horroble eARC. 5-star tv. I recommend. I haven't seen a qd-oled screen yet but supposedly that and neo qled 8k are the next step up from this.

Hi StevieKaySpeaks,
Great to hear you’re enjoying your QN90B TV’s picture quality! Quantum Dot and Mini LEDs bring you an exquisite picture by transforming light into vivid color that stays true for bold detail, even as the scene brightens.
Please know that while HDMI eARC is supported in one port, the HDMI 2.1 feature of 4K@120Hz is supported in all 4 HDMI ports.
If you’re hearing an audio delay across all sources/channels while your soundbar is connected to your TV, you can access the Audio Delay settings to adjust the audio delay. Go to: Menu > Settings > All Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Digital Output Audio Delay
Our 2022 TVs also have an audio Pass-Through feature, which allows the audio signal to be sent out unprocessed to a connected soundbar. The soundbar then processes the audio, eliminating the added step of processing by the TV, which adds delay. On your TV, go to: Menu > Settings > All Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Digital Audio Output Format > Pass-Through
Also be sure to enable HDMI-eARC in the Expert Settings menu. Lastly, please also verify that you are running the latest firmware. You can check to see if there’s an available update by going to: Settings > Support > Software Update.
I hope these tips help you enjoy your new product!
You can always contact us for further help at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. LiveChat with an agent as well as manuals, software, and warranty info can be found at the ‘Support’ link on our Samsung website.

Phenomenal TV all around.
Technically, the blacks are less impressive than the OLED we have in the basement, but honestly, unless you put them side by side, I don't think I can honestly tell a difference.
Very, very minimal blooming from the FALD array, only really noticable on text such as end credits.
Response time for gaming needs the game mode active or it's... not great.
Biggest downside is how it handles glare, you get these odd rainbows across the screen from the coating that's on it. So be careful with lamp placement.
Built in speakers are, expectedly, terrible, get a decent system to go with it if you're spending this much on a TV.
