It has failed, so I replaced with Samsung. So much for getting the Crucial on sale. Hope the warranty is honored the spec are good, I'll use it for something not as mission critical.

I am using a ProBox HUR6 enclosure with this drive and another 2tb platter drive. I have it configured as a Fusion drive, so it is seen as a 4tb drive. With the SSD drive as part of the fusion, it is very fast on USB 3 Gen 2. This is back drive fir my iMac. Purchased on sale so it made it a pretty good deal. I would not use this as your boot drive, even thou it will perform fairly fast. The drives stand alone does slow down with large files, but as a fusion it performs quite well.

But this type of SSD has a problem. It cannot sustain fast writing speeds with large files. It will start up pretty quick but will rapidly slow down after several seconds. As long as you understand it's limitations. it's a pretty good value for the price.,

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung 860 QVO SATA III SSD and for your review. I am sorry to hear that you are not completely happy with performance speeds. Your 2TB drive was engineered to deliver speeds of up to 520MB/s Seq. Read and 520MB/s Seq. Write.
If you haven't done so already, you may want to use Samsung Magician to run Performance Optimization, ensure that your motherboard supports SATA III interface, check that all performance related settings are set correctly (cached enabled, AHCI enabled), and be sure you have the latest version of the driver.
As there are various factors that could affect speed, I would encourage you to call Samsung Customer Support if you need further assistance to troubleshoot your issue.

Load times are a lot faster then the mechanical drive I had in it previously. Cheaper than buying a PS4 PRO

Served its purpose speeding up an old 2013 iMac 27 that had a fusion drive. Also installed an NVME drive as the main SSD and that flies. Inexpensive way to speed up a laptop or desktop (with a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter)
