Upgraded current C drive from 1 TB to 2 TB Samsung Magician makes install and transfer of data a breeze. Only drawback is drive must be connected directly to pc ran into problem with drive temporarily installed through Insignia dual hub port. Using other software to copy info from C drive.

It's obviously not a M2 but the overall performance for storage is still very impressive. I would not recommend a normal SSD as a boot drive due to PCIE 4.0 M2s having better performance in that area but overall this is an excellent drive with great read writes and benchmarks very well.

Purchase an 870 QVO because they use an msata drive inside according to andycine so I can use it in the lunchbox 3 if I ever decide to use it for that. For now its bare and I use it in an atomos ninja V and atomx cast.

A stable Mable, I just needed a bigger storage drive for my back up games. Have had zero issues and even got it on sale so this one is easy to recommend... even at the $230 price point. Just look around and see if you can snag a price match or deal on this.

Bought this SSD (Solid State Drive) to store working copies of my digitally recorded music on my Alienware Aurora R8 computer and Reaper DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). It was a breeze to install, format and use. Do Not forget to buy the required SATA III data cable as it doesn't come with the SSD (Hey Samsung put the $7.00 cable in with the SSD !) Read/write times run away from standard Hard Disk Drives..... I'm very satisfied and should have bought 2 as I still have another 2.5 inch bay open. I just hope it withstands the rigorous large digital data recordings/transfers for a long time

A great compromise of speed and value. This went into an external 4-drive case and is fast and silent. It stores all by non-photo data files and retrieves them quickly. I'm very pleased with this level of performance.

If you are trying to upgrade your old memory, its better to buy the ssd because the hhd well you know the rest they are slow as F. Although you still need to get either window software or try to find the keycode for the window on the other memory.

Very good drive and worth it for anyone to upgrade their PS4. My main ps4 has the EVO and the kids has this QVO. We do not notice any difference. For the cost, the QVO is worth it. Double the space and tremendous loading time savings. Very happy

Bought this SSD to upgrade the hard drive in my PS4. It’s actually been rather nice as my PS4 boots up rather quickly and loading times, while not significantly reduced, has been reduced to an extent and has been rather somewhat time saving!

Great External Storage Option for PS5

I picked this up on sale wanting a cheaper and more immediate option to expand my PS5's SSD storage (rather than waiting for Sony to allow internal hard drive installations). I hadn't seen any reviewer mention they'd used this product for that purpose, but it's been great! I paired it with a USB 3.1 SATA Hard Drive adapter that I bought elsewhere (be sure to do your research and get one that's up to the task). This thing's been awesome. I use it for my PS4 games on my PS5 and it loads them just as fast as the internal SSD. Couldn't recommend this enough as an option to expand your gaming storage. Of course, the only downside to this is that you can't play PS5 games from an external hard drive. But the space this drive frees up leaves plenty of internal storage to store those games. If you're considering this for gaming, I definitely recommend it.

Brought a 6 year old computer back to life. Had a Mechanical Hard drive which was dying. Computer took ages to boot up. Switched it out with this, mirrored the hard drive, super simple, and life was restored to my old computer. Works perfectly now and so much faster

The solid state drives are great. The Geek Squad in Ames did an excellent job. They recovered all the data off 2 failing hard drives, put the data on 2 new solid state drives and installed them into the desktop computer. Much faster now.

I bought this to replace a smaller-capacity 850EVO drive in one of my systems because I ran out of space on it. Samsung offers free downloadable Drive Migration software for Windows (produced by Clonix according to their documentation) to automatically copy an old drive to a new drive, expand the partition sizes and make it bootable, so upgrading from an existing drive to the new drive is pretty easy if you use Windows: connect the drive to the PC (via SATA or USB or any other way), download and run the software, shut the machine down, swap drives and start the machine up again. The time that it takes depends mostly on the speed of your hardware; I copied my old SSD to the new one at about 50MB/s through a USB3-to-SATA dongle. SATA to SATA would have been faster I'm sure. The Drive Magician software, also available online (for Windows, Linux and MacOS) from Samsung, lets you see some useful data such as the total amount of data written (so you can see when your drive is wearing out), temperature, free space etc. It also lets you run a benchmark, and it lets you over-provision the drive (i.e. reserve some space to be used as spare storage for when sectors start to wear out and fail -- it should take many years before that happens). Now the cons: I use this system for Windows software development and I've noticed that since I got this QVO drive, whenever I do a full rebuild of a large project, my Visual Studio sometimes completely stops responding. I've read some information about how these drives work and I think the problem is that the large compile job with many small files that are read and written at pretty much the same time, fills up the cache memory on the drive, and slows the system down. Visual Studio will complete the job, but it's pretty much impossible to do anything else at the same time. I bought this SSD somewhat on a whim because I noticed it was one of the cheapest for its capacity. But I think I'll move this to another system that has less of a need for fast storage, and I'll get another faster SSD (based on different technology and probably unfortunately more expensive) for this system. Write it off as a learning experience.

Replaced the mechanical drive in an Alienware (Secondary drive) with this. It reduces the bottleneck between the two internal drives. Being an R11, there was no need to use the 970, as it would have been overkill.

I needed a SSD quickly to complete a project and purchased a Samsung SSD 870 QVO 2 TB. I really like the software that Samsung offers (download) that maximizes the performance of the SSD. I would definitely purchase again. Best Buy offered good customer service.
