If your pc or laptop has an available m2 port, I would strongly suggest this product. Samsung provides great drive cloning software to replace your os drive. You will see boot times 5 to 10 seconds, even faster depends on mother board manufacturer. You will see 60% to 70% increase of speed over other SSD's verses sata port. It reduced load times and smoother application operations of most software.. NOTE : Does not come with mounting hard ware.. If you do have technical issues installing hardware see Geek Squad guys..

Nice upgrade from standard spinning hard drives. Unlike the laptop product title description, this Solid State Drive was installed on a desktop motherboard in a computer that I am building from the ground up. It is quick as lightning so I have no complaints on the performance. With some research and information, installation has very easy. If you are thinking of switching from a standard spinning hard drive, going to a solid state is so much quicker. Speed is so quick, it is like getting a new computer again.

My computer boots up soooo fast now, it's sick. Way fast than SATA drives. Beyond boot up times, I really don't notice much difference, but I'm not a gamer or an otherwise intensive user, so keep that in mind. But even for someone like me, it's a good investment because I wanted to replace my hdd anyway, and this cost pretty close to the same as a SATA drive. It was a little bit more complex to install, though, so if you're not a confident dyi kind of person, then maybe go with a SATA drive.

I purchased the Samsung - 970 EVO 500GB Internal PCI Express 3.0 x4 (NVMe) Solid State Drive for Laptops with V-NAND Technology to install into my husband's computer, install was easy, setup was also easy, using the downloaded drivers and data software from Samsung. It didn't take long and he was up and running using his new, much faster drive. His boot time has increased greatly. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is thinking about upgrading their hard drive.

If u think a ssd is fast this Samsung nvme is probably 10 times faster. My games would load faster while I watch other people standing there probably starring at their load screen. Windows would load in less than 10 secs. Just make sure your motherboard supports nvme ssd. They are the size of a piece of gum that slides into the motherboard. If your motherboard doesn’t support it you probably have to buy a pci adapter that works with the nvme ssd.

I got this to upgrade my old tiny SSD that came in my DELL XPS 13. I believe the old one was 128gb. This one is great and is as fast if not faster than the stock drive. It feels like I got another new laptop, haha. I feel like it extended the life of my laptop now that it feels new and has a ton of storage. I don’t store videos or anything large so this size should last me forever! Highly recommend this drive.

NVMe tech is incredible. The data read and write speeds of these drives are impossibly fast. Set up was a breeze. Because they plug directly into the motherboard for power and connection, there is no fiddling around with separate power from the PSU or SATA for data connection. Also, the data migration Samsung developed is very easy to use. Changed my boot drive from an old mechanical HDD to this drive. The whole process was a snap.

Samsung is pretty much the leader in the industry when it comes to SSDs, and this 500GB NVMe drive is no exception. Consistently gets the best scores in read/write speeds, and is compatible with almost all setups. You will pay a little more for this vs other brands (PNY, Sandisk, etc), but the performance and reliability is there for the extra cost. If you can, catch this one when it's on sale. You won't be disappointed!

I just upgraded my Alienware 15R3 (i7-7700HQ CPU, 16GB DDR4, GeForce 1070 GPU) laptop w/this 500 GB Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVMe SSD, from a 250 GB 960 EVO 250GB M.2 NVMe SSD, and boy what a difference it made when it comes to gaming performance, especially when playing the MMO game Star Citizen. I highly recommend the drive.

Purchased for my Alienware laptop to increase the CAD processing ability and to speed up the overall performance of the machine. Let me tell you it does! The laptop boots in seconds and powerful programs that used to take minutes to boot now take seconds as well. I am aware that these devices wear out but I haven't had any issues so far.

Bought this for my yearly pc upgrade build. Went from a traditional hard drive to an SSD then to this. I can only imagine how small they will be in two years time. This thing is ridiculously fast, and it is not even the top tier one. Great and fast enough for the common gamer, maybe not for the professional gamer though. Recommend the "Pro" version for those kinds of users.

I needed to pick up a NVME to PCI-E adapter card to use this, but it was expected. It went in easily, and once I downloaded the NVME drivers, it detected and initialized like a champ. Tested Transfer rates of existing Solid State Drive in my system. Old drive was at 138 MB/s Sequential Read, 121 MB/s Sequential Write, This drive gives 3,267 MB/s Sequential read speed, 2,522 Mb/s Sequential write. PCI-E transfer speeds are wonderful! More than doubled capacity over existing drive, 23+ times faster read, nearly 21X faster sequential write. Games download and update to this like a dream.

Got this for my Dell Inspiron 15 5570, which had 32GB RAM and a 1TB HDD... this SSD is perfect for the OS and much of my frequently used files. Very happy with this... my already-smoking laptop boots up Windows 10 Pro in only 15 seconds. Goes down almost as fast. All Samsung needs to do is get that price down and get the sizes up... I'll be back for a 2TB or larger in a year or so. :)

I needed more storage for my PC. The SATA SSD are definitely a better price for the same amount of storage, but I really liked the small form factor and no wires needed to hook it up. The SSD itself is actually really small. From the pictures, it looks like the size of a six inch ruler, but its more like the size of a stick of gum. Its crazy how something so small can hold a lot of space. I did not use the drive for Windows because I already have it on an SSD and it didn't think it would be much more worth it to switch drives. Instead, I put all my favorite games on this drive, ones that I would never uninstall to make room for other games. Once again, if saving money is your deal, just get an SSD of the same size and you'll be fine. But if you want less clutter and wires in your build and your motherboard supports this drive, go for it! It's awesome!!

The M.2 form factor is most typically seen in laptops, but is also becoming increasingly more common in high-end desktops, especially when combined with NVMe technology. For 2018/2019, this is the SSD to get for blazing fast speeds with the trademark reliability you expect from Samsung computer electronics. A little pricey, but definitely worth it.

I purchased the MSI G65 Stealth and decided to upgrade the NVMe drive with 2 of these. The performance is stellar to say the least. The notebook boots Windows 10 Pro in about 2 seconds from post. Hard to go wrong with these. I also purchased the Pro version of this for my desktop but I haven't noticed much of a difference in speed between the two.

Hey this is one of the best investment you can do for your computer, just make sure it accepts x4 PCIe m.2 nvme, times are insane fast, reliability from Samsung can keep you confident of your data, but I will always have backup of my system, you never know what could happens, price is acceptable since I got it on a special... well worth it
