Read speeds were the same, but for some reason Write speeds were about 15% less with the 970 Evo Plus. If the speeds were the same or better than the NVMe that came with the enclosure, I would have given it 5 stars.

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DOn't get me wrong the drive is fast asf but not considerably faster than the normal evo, its just seconds you won't notice it as much as swiching from a hdd to ssd... save yourself some money deal with the ~3 extra second load times and get a 970 evo if you can

Faster than the previous model, the 970 EVO Plus maximizes the potential of NVMe bandwidth with optimized firmware and the latest V-NAND technology.
Your 1TB model is designed to deliver speeds of up to 3,500MB/s Seq. Read and 3,300MB/s Seq. Write, and is further warrantied for 600 TBW and backed by a 5-year limited manufacturer's warranty.
Benchmark test results may differ depending upon the system environment, host software and hardware configuration. I encourage you to call Samsung Customer Support to better diagnose and assist you with your speed issue.
