Samsung is a brand you can trust when it comes to SSD. Very fast drive, and spacious 1TB space for a lot less than what they used to cost. This is probably the best m.2 ssd drive you can buy today for this price.

Great SSD for the price. Would recommend waiting for a sale, however. Fast, reliable, and does not run hot. I did purchase a heatsink separately though.

Easy to install like all m.2, but I chose this one for it being such a great buy for the price, speed, and storage size. Call me a Samsung kinda guy, but their drives have YET to let me down. All of my comparative tests show above average performance and the drives perform as advertised. I stand by my choice. This drive is right where it belongs in an HEDT setup, in a budget gaming rig, or even in a regular old budget build. It gives you the edge, loading speeds, and general performance that makes any computing experience in today's day worth the money spent. It is worth the money.

Super fast and completely silent. It may get very hot. I suggest adding a heatsink. My company sent me a new computer with a spinning disk and an empty M.2 connector. I swapped the spinning disk for a SATA III SSD and added this M.2 drive. The time it took to boot Windows 10 and start up my (many) startup processes took nearly 5 minutes with the spinning drive. It's under a minute with the M.2 drive.

Samsung makes the best SSDs No other brand has speeds even close to these. The EVO+ line is slightly newer than the pro line. I think that means there is a refresh happening soon. The only warning I have for this product is that it can be quite difficult to install and boot from. The screw that holds an m.2 SSD in place is minuscule. Think of the tiniest eyeglass screwdriver you have ever used, then half that size. Also it can sometimes be difficult to get your motherboard to recognize and boot from this drive. Just know what you’re getting yourself into. Once you get it set up, it runs like a dream.

Going from a standard mechanical hard drive to a nice compact SSD was amazing by leaps and bounds.... once I heard about these NVMe SSD's I was intrigued by not only the speed and size (which is about the size of a stick of gum) but by the fact that there are no moving parts and no Sata or other electrical cables that connect to this device....it simply plugs into a slot on the front of the motherboard (pending you have a motherboard that supports this type of drive wich most made in the last several years do. Once in place the speed is amazing and again being that they have no moving parts or electrical connections to it I have no fear of a failure or losing my data like you would when a mechanical HHD would fail.... now the question is whether you need the NVMe SSD or just a standard SSD.... both are great but again a normal SSD is larger, and needs to be connected via cables and is nowhere near as fast as the NVMe SSD, as a normal SSD has a read write/speed of about 500 to 700mb while the NVMe has a read write/speed of up to 3500mb! And another great thing is the cost is not much more than a SSD. So clearly the NVMe drive is superior to an SSD, the question now becomes if you should get one....if you have to get a new SSD whether you need a new one or are just upgrading to larger storage space AND your motherboard supports it then I would highly recommend the NVMe over an SSD. But if you have to buy another motherboard to support the NVMe then it really depends if you want to pay the cost of the NVMe and a motherboard and also having to change out the motherboard and all your perinials to get it to work. Simply put, SSD's are great but NVMe's are even better.....

Been using this daily since purchase. The speed is great. Reinstalling Windows 10 only takes about 5 minutes. Even for a Gen 3 this thing runs pretty fast. I don't even have a motherboard capable of the Gen 4 so that is not an issue right now. The temps hold perfectly fine even under stress with the heatsink I purchased for it. 1TB is plenty of space. I only store the Windows install and the programs I constantly run on it and the space is more than sufficient. Samsung has, and continues, to make great products. I am looking forward to when I get a board the supports the Gen 4 to get the faster speeds out of them. That time will come. I would gladly recommend the purchase of this item. I have even thought of going with the 2TB version even though it would be Gen 3 due to my system. Even at Gen 3 speeds they run perfectly fine.

So far this SSD has been the best one that I have bought and well worth the money spent on it. It was very easy to install and set up along with moving the files I wanted off of the main SSD which has the os on it. Also when I bring up the game that I moved over from the main SSD talk about fast WoW once logged in loads faster than my main computer now love it

Super fast is probably an understatement on how fast this NVMe drive is. I was trying to decide between this and the WD Black drive. This one has higher read and write speeds which when tested in the real world really does not mean much as it is based on many factors. But samsung has a strong track record for great quality SSD's. After seeing how fast NVMe SSD's are i don't think i will ever be able to go back to SATA interface SSD's again. Yes it is more expsensive vs sata ssd's but it is WELL WORTH IT. Do yourself a favor and get this if your laptop or desktop have the means of using the NVMe standard you will not regret it. I promise.

I bought this SSD because my desktop was being extremely slow during boots (1 min 15 sec when it was new to 5 minutes after almost 2 years even with fast startup) with just one 7200rpm HDD. This SSD was pricey even with discount but I've read that NVMe SSDs are much faster than SATA SSDs so I bought it anyway. The installation was easy, and after installing Windows on it, the boot time significantly improved. My desktop now boots in 20 seconds and opening programs are instantaneous as well. I installed some games on it and the loading times are night and day (the game in particular is Horizon Zero Dawn). I also ran some benchmarks on UserBenchmark and found that my GTX 1080 was being bottlenecked by the speed of my HDD when playing games. It was something I did not expect and was happy to learn that. For average people on a budget, I would just recommend getting the Samsung EVO 860 SATA SSD since the boot speeds and game loading speeds are only 1-10 seconds difference (even though on paper, the NVMe is up to 6 times faster than SATA) at most so you get more storage out of your money with the SATA SSDs.

Fast. Needed some more room on my all M.2 setup. These were on sale for x-mas. I always use Samsung EVO SSD and M.2 drives. Never disappointed. Whether on the Motherboard, or on PCI Ex slot they work great. Setup is easy, and Samsung Magician will give you all of the addition information and setup items you need.

I have a Dell G7 gaming laptop I purchased in 2018. Only had a 128 GB SATA C drive. Was running out of room and replaced with this 1 TB NVMe drive. I was able to do a full clone of the old drive using the Adonis OEM cloning software provided with a Sabrent external SSD enclosure for MVNe. It took about 20-30 seconds to clone the 90GB, using USB type 2. Have been using with Python, Tensorflow and Pycharm with no issues at all. Was hesitant to try to clone the SSD, they wanted to clone the OS only and reinstall all the other software, which was a no-go for me. I am confident that with the right cloning software (Adonis OEM) and the Sabrent enclosure you can do it. The total for the external enclosure and 1TB drive was about $275, which made the computer usable again. All left to do is replace the nasty 1TB 5400 RPM drive with a SATA SSD. I do notice that it is faster on boot-up and software load (on the C: drive). SATA drives are around 500 MBS and the MVNe can run around 3500 MBD. There are cheaper MVNe SSD than the Samsung - but my experience is it is pretty fast and works with no issues, so for a developer like me it is a good investment in size and speed.

Very easy install into your motherboard and very easy to handle, the tiny screw that holds the back notch in place is a bit troublesome if you dont have a solid hold on it however as a M.2 SSD It is a really good choice, however with all SSD's the larger storage you go the more likely its life span is to decrease because of how an SSD stores information, so if your not constantly installing or uninstalling large games, your good to go. 10/10 would recommend samsung SSD's never failed me yet.

Easy install! Super freaking fast. Had some transfer rates at >1GB/sec. Ridiculous. It's great for video editing too. I work with 4K footage and file sizes are huge, so this offers a good amount of storage for current video projects with quick rendering in the editing program. It's a video editing must-have.
