I chose this ssd and very happy I did! Easy to install and Best Buy made it easy to purchase online and deliver right to my door. The money I saved on upgrading myself allowed me to order my Thinkpad with a faster processor.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It's hard to provide a review of the performance of this drive as of yet. it was purchased to replace a smaller capacity drive, but I've yet to find an enclosure that will both mount the drive properly and be recognized by my hardware / OS. I've been able to get my Mac to read it, and an older HP Z800 workstation, but the HP Spectre 360 simply won't recognize the enclosure I purchased so I don't have a way to provide feedback at this time. What I can share is that the drive it is meant to replace is a Samsung 960 EVO which has performed exceptionally for the past 4 years. There is no reason for me to think the next generation 970 drives would be anything other than as reliable and faster in performance.

You can get another HHD for mass storage, but if you want to take full advantage of the speed you're paying for its best to invest a full TB and just delete games as you need the space. Your load times and input lag will thank you.

Buy a heatsink or the lil blue cooling things depending on lapto or desktop though

Speeds are fantastic and I have never encountered an issue with any of the drives failing in the 10 or so computers I’ve built.

They make it easy to transfer OS boot drive from existing SSD with their transfer tool with no additional steps. Worked like a charm and is blazing fast for large file transfer. Got it on sale, although MSRP is a little steep, sale price made it worth.

Long story short, after reading many reviews and weighing my options, I went with the 970 EVO plus.... Not only is speed amazing, it was a breeze to transfer everything over to the new ssd with the software provided by Samsung.

Great drive, really fast speeds as described. Moving games or large videos is no longer a time consuming task. Samsung software such as Magician and Data Migration makes moving data from an older/slower drive very easy. Another great Samsung storage product!
