Crazy Fast!

For example the initial gta 5 loading screen seems to be at least half the time my sata ssd load times were if not faster. Great Buy will not dissappoint

Not for this review, but that’s 2 of my kid’s dell laptops that had hard drive failures in less than 1.5 yrs. the SSD was installed to install, recognized immediately, and my son says it has been great for his gaming.

Because I upgraded from another Samsung SSD, the migration of my data was seamless. I was able to copy over all my data and OS files. Once the copy was complete, I installed the new drive, and everything was there and it booted right into windows 10.

My computer is not only snappier, but more stable now. We're having some power fluctuations and even with the UPS on my system, previously I'd have some noticeable effects. Now I don't even notice when the power dips.

If you do not own one I highly recommend purchasing this you will not regret it!

Actually bought another one of these, and a external case off of Amazon, so I have a 1TB portable external drive to take anywhere. File downloads, uploads are insane on how fast they transfer. If you on the fence, jump off an buy one.

Installation was pretty simple once I got an external enclosure to use to copy the existing internal drive.

It's very pricey and you could get something comparable in performance for much, much less. But, with this drive you get the actual top of the line in performance, you get Samsungs incredible customer service, and you can be confident that it was made at the absolute top quality.

Old SSD was a Samsung 970 EVO, 256GB. So got a bump from both the speed and size. Used as my main drive currently (the 256 is a secondary now and have 3 1TB SSDs and 2 WD Black 2TB Spinners.

With Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit, it fires up and ready to use in about 40 seconds. I will later add a heatsink, which is not necessary, but may help sustain longer life of the drive. The actual label is a heatsink by itself. I will still add an HDD for most game and other storage, but I definitely like the fast boot up to full function. Check on which games are dependent on large boot up or change of level to put on the SDD, and store the rest on the HDD. The five year manufacturer warranty is a nice factor also. My Motherboard is a few years old, but I was surprised to see it supp orted the NVMe M.2 format whic is the fast speed. I have a second PCIe port for MVMe, but it only runs at half the speed. If I want to run another OS, (WIN 7 64 Bit), I will have to change out the drive each time for the amazing speed. Maybe on the next MOBO, I will find one with two 4X slots. Awesome drive.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 SSD. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing heat issues with your SSD. The operating temperatures for this SSD range from 0°C - 70°C. Samsung NVMe SSDs rarely require a heat sink, yet maintain optimal performance thanks to Samsung’s advanced design and manufacturing capabilities coupled with an integrated, heat dissipating thermal label. In rare instances of extreme workloads (transfer of several hundreds of GB), performance may be throttled through Samsung’s dynamic thermal throttling algorithm to protect the SSDs integrity.
Please be aware, however, that an external heat source such as a high-powered graphics card, or CPU placed in close proximity to a Samsung NVMe SSD, can adversely affect airflow around a Samsung NVMe SSD which may lead to performance degradation. Therefore, please ensure there is appropriate airflow around your Samsung NVMe SSD.

I was stuck in between this SSD or the WD brand SSD and I chose this one after looking through a bunch of reviews. I have no regrets. Using this as my Windows boot drive is so fast. Installing Windows on it was so quick. File transfers are super fast.

If your concerned about speed this thing is a beast. Instal is easy. Just remember you need a M.2 slot for this little guy. If you look at your adult pinky or thumb that's roughly the size it may be. Even I was shocked how small it was.
