Customers recognize the 970 EVO Plus 1TB Internal SSD PCIe Gen 3 x4 NVMe as a high-performance drive that's easy to install and use. Positive feedback frequently highlights its speed, ample storage capacity, and reasonable price. While some users noted that the drive may generate a bit more heat without a heatsink, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive. The small size is also mentioned, with some seeing it as an advantage.

Slam Dunk Investment in my PC

Taken in the context of all possible improvements to a modern Windows-based computer, replacing one's HDD with an NVMe SSD is a no-brainer. It has had a more dramatic impact on startup time, load times, processing speed than any other thing I have ever purchased for my PC. Samsung is a great brand. They are leaders in this realm, offering the 990 line, which is the fastest SSD on the market. This one, a 970, is an incredibly efficient SSD to purchase, somewhere in the $60 range for a full terabyte. The cheapest computing game-changer on the market, in my view.

    Perfect upgrade for XPS 9500

Exactly what I needed - speed and storage space. I needed to upgrade the storage space on my Dell XPS 9500 (I bought it with only a 256GB SSD). The SK Hynix m.2 SSD it came with was already fast, but this Samsung drive greatly outperforms it. Much faster read and write speeds and greater capacity for a great price. I obviously wouldn't mind if it was cheaper, but you really do get what you pay for. You really can't go wrong with any of the Samsung SSDs, especially when they go on sale. There's a reason why they're constantly at the top of review lists. If you're planning to pick up one of the new XPS laptops (or honestly any new upgradeable laptop), just get it with the lowest drive configuration and upgrade it yourself - it's easy, cheaper, and you get an even faster laptop out of it. Tons of youtube videos out there on how to install these if you're unfamiliar - super easy, barely an inconvenience ;)

It breathed new life into an older generation Dell Optiplex, but I needed to install a NVMe to PCIe Adapter. It works great as a storage drive but if you want to boot from it, it requires extensive modification (but not difficult) of the BIOS. You can find the instructions on tachytelic.net. It's more than worth the effort!

This a perfect reliable Solid State Drive. This one works perfectly! Is fast and I never had a problem with it. I do think next time I will get the same version but in a 2Tb capacity. It cost almost double the money but I think is worth to spend it for the future.

This SSD works very well. If you’re buying a new SSD because your current one is running out of storage and your motherboard only has one NVMe slot - just get an SSD adapter and plug it in as a USB and download a program such as Aomei (which costs $49-55 but I’m sure there may be free softwares out there but I didn’t have the time to search for a free one to clone my old ssd to the new one. Of course after you do that all you have to do is open your PC and remove the old ssd and put the new one.. but keep in mind you have to initialize this ssd which you can google how and the actual box of this ssd shows you how to.. anyways loving this new ssd for more storage.

This Samsung 970 EVO SSD is excellent. I will certainly buy several more because they are so stable and will allow you to move through your work in a timely manner. It is easy to install, anyone can do it and is immediately recognized for your system. You could not go wrong with this SSD or buying it at Best Buy! Excellent experience!

I purchased this SSD to add a 2nd one to my LG Gram computer which only came with a 512 GB SSD. I found a video on YouTube with installation instructions. It was easy to follow and the drive works perfectly. I now have 1.5 TB of storage.

Great drive. Super fast, solid value for its capacity. Easy to install. My one complaint is that it doesn't include screws for mounting into the motherboard. I had to order some separately, but not the biggest deal.

      Tony:

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD. Please know that these drives are not delivered with mounting screws since motherboard manufacturers typically provide the specific screws and spacers that fit the proprietary needs of each motherboard.

I bought this SSD because I started a project that required that much extra storage. I wasn't sure how an M.2 drive looked, so I walked past this twice thinking it was RAM. Whoops. Installation was a snap! I did need to buy a bracket for a Lenovo ThinkPad P51, but when I moved the drive to an MSI, there was no further hardware required. That may be the norm, but I recommend checking to see what your computer supports. This drive has performed like a champ. It's quick and stable. I really appreciate the extra storage, and being able to move hundreds of GB around quickly makes me happy as well. When this project is over, I'll have a ton of space for all of the games I don't play.

I have 2 of these in my PC build. I hope that speaks to my confidence in the products that Samsung puts out. The installation is straight forward and I can say with confidence that for whatever your storage needs, these hard drives work reliable and quickly. One of my favorite parts of this product is Samsung's magician software. Using this, you can easily check how much storage is left not the hard drive and all kinds of other information to help you determine the drive's health, including the drive temperature. As someone who has had drives go bad in the past, this software is a lifesaver! Hopefully with this software, you can predict any issues you will have.

Want the best transfer speeds of a specific PCIe generation SSD? Samsung is the way to go. This one's older now, with many newer versions available but if you're looking for a standard quality but high reliability and less issues overall, I would definitely recommend this product to anyone time and time again.

    Fast - perfect for 2020 Dell gaming G3 15 3500 lap

Installed in 2020 Dell gaming G3 15 3500 laptop. Original dell NVMe drive was only 250gb but once my son started installing VR content and games, the 250gb was quickly filled. The NVMe bus in the laptop is Gen 3, so we opted for the Samsung 970 EVO Plus. We looked at the 980 Pro, but knowing his laptop is not Gen 4, the 970 was a better value and would have performed as well as the 980 since the latter would use backwards compatible Gen3 functionality. We used Macrium to clone the original dell ssd to the new 970 drive so the upgrade to the new ssd was seemless. Very happy so far.

Super fast. Great Uprade for the PC. Very very fast. It can get hot under load, so make sure you have M.2 Heatsink on your motherboard or a fan directly hitting the PCI slot. Great value for the money!!
