Samsung 970Evo Plus 1 TB NVMe SSD

The SSD was installed in a Thunderbolt 3 capable metal enclosure and connected to my computer in less than 5 minutes. After formatting the transfer speeds between the iMac' s SSD and the Thunderbolt 3 drive was nothing short of spectacular. A 6 GB video file transferred in 5-6 seconds! Transferring the same file to a USB 3.0 external drive took 35 seconds. The five year warranty will certainly cover the lifespan of this drive for my use. I could not be happier with the overall result with this DIY project.

Fastest drive I ever owned
