Vast speed improvement

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Used on new Ryzen 3200 build, MSI B450 Pro motherboard, 16GB RAM, 450 Watt Corsair power supply. Running Lubuntu on it.. no mechanical hard disks, Lubuntu is on this Samsung 970 M.2 NVMe SSD. The combination is amazingly fast. I have Samsung M.@ NVMe drives in two Windows PCs as well.. I'll never go back to mechanical hard disks again. Also, this drive is much faster than a SATA SSD. Ensure that your system's motherboard supports M.2 PCIe NVMe drives. Check out YouTube for help if you've never installed one before.

Very fast but expensive memory

Samsung Evo memory rarely, if eve, goes on sale, so what you pay is pretty much retail pricing no matter where its purchased. Samsung Evo memory is one of the top of the line memory brands when it comes to storage memory so you are getting what you pay for.

One of the Best Main OS Drives One Can Purchase

The 970 EVO Plus keeps the faith as a startup drive in a PC upgraded new motherboard using a previous case. PC boots in less than 10 seconds. Every program seems to load faster which is pleasing. Just wish Samsung provided NVMe screw(s) for the motherboard with the product as could not find a NVMe with the motherboard packaged accessories. Recommended buy as a main OS drive.

This things nuclear fast

Sooo fast! Don’t forget to move windows swap file if you run your os on an ssd to a spin platter drive though. Ssd memory is consumable and if you don’t have a lot of ram windows will eat them up. I run a second multiple tb drive for the swap file and any other files I will be using other than read only. Swap file controls are on the advanced tab of the system properties.

A fantastic M.2

I don’t even have to wait for Windows to boot up and virtually the same can be said for other games/programs that I currently have stored on it. Definitely worth the buy. If I had the money, I would have gone with the 1TB version!

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.250 doesn’t seem like a lot but for the first m.2 it’s recommend to ONLY put the windows operating system on it and nothing else So it’s plenty for the operating system. Typically motherboards will have two m.2 so you can use the second slot for storage. Just watch Linus or jays two cents on YouTube for recommendations but at the end of the day it’s your choice of course.
