You may need to watch some tutorials on how to clone/install SSDs before trying it yourself as it might be a complex install for the average person.
I installed it in a 2021 ASUS g14 laptop and it works as intended. Definitely allows a lot more storage for games and other files. There isn't any noticable preform drops/increases from the OEM SSD that was inside of my laptop but it still reads and writes as fast as the original. However the original SSD was also a Samsung SSD just with a smaller storage capacity.
I recommend this product if you're looking for a larger storage capacity.

Raided with another 2TB Evo plus

Other thoughts:
I have two in raid, I only wanted one drive letter and was a bit cheaper than buying a straight 4TB stick

The Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB Internal SSD is a real powerhouse. It's super-fast, making everything from booting up to loading games happen in a flash, and its big 2TB capacity gives me all the space I need. I'm confident in its durability, and the included software keeps it running smoothly. Installation was easy, and it stays cool even during heavy tasks. Whether you're a gamer or a content creator, this SSD is a fantastic upgrade that combines speed and reliability in one impressive package.

Make sure you've got the screws for this beforehand, I luckily did in my motherboard box but I'm gonna take a star off for them not including some. Installation process was easy I'd recommend looking up some videos on installing nvme ssd if it's your first time though this thing is the size of a piece of gum so just make sure to treat it with care. Once it's in and formatted there it was a hearty 2TB ready to hold my vast backlog of games I'll probably never get to but if I do they sure will load fast thanks to this bad boy!

I've been using this Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB internal NVMe SSD for a year now, and have zero problems to report. It was easy to install and set up, and after a year shows zero errors. It's also quite fast, so I have no complaints at all. All 4 of my SSDs are Samsungs, and all 4 have zero issues, so I definitely would buy from them again.

Its an NVMe thats great in price. While the new 980 Pro are out the 970 evo plus makes it a good budget choice. Also might be your only choice if you dont have gen 4 nvme compatibility on the computer.

Used in Mac Mini M1 dock to expand storage. The drive itself is quick and does get warm but that’s at fault of the dock design with airflow. Everything that takes nvme m.2 drives in my house have Samsung evo drives in them from PC to Mac, and have been dead reliable and very speedy. Some earlier models had bad controller firmware software version number starts with a 3 so check the box before purchasing. A simple firmware update from Samsung ( takes about 10 minutes ) should solve any future issues.

You can’t go wrong with this SSD. Samsung is a trusted brand when it comes to storage. The speed and capacity of this drive offers a fantastic value. There are faster alternatives if you want to pay more. However, by no means would I consider this drive slow. There were no issues with the drive getting picked up in the BIOS or Windows 11 installer. I simply plugged it into an empty m.2 slot and was ready to go.

I’ve had this SSD for a few years now (I know the reviews on here are sometimes combined for all variants of a single product so, in this case, I’m speaking specifically about the 2TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 SSD) and I’ve read/written over 900TB according to Windows 11… absolutely no issues. Already worth the price at MSRP… if it’s on sale, don’t even second guess, just buy it.

Works as expected for gen3 bus

This drive will work to its max potential on the gen3 bus as expected. So far mine has gone faster than advertised at 3.6gbps which I don’t even know if I can believe however it works great! If you are going to shadow copy your drive make sure you check your bootmgr in windows. Whatever volume # is listen for your c:\ drive use that number. If it’s the same then no need to change. I have a gigabyte motherboard and the “windows boot manager” shows up as blank because of this and will not allow me to boot to this drive because of my windows installation having the wrong volume number in bootmgr. Took a while to research this. OEM’s may not suffer from this however if you have a custom build, this will correct the issue.
Point is, this drive works at its advertised speeds and then some. It also does not suffer from the same firmware issues as the 980 pro drive. The 2tb chip most likely will have the same controller as the 980 pro drive instead of it’s original phenix controller. Regardless, both versions work beautifully! I use this one in my plex server, steam server, and gaming rig. So far so good and all 3 work as advertised in terms of speed. The WD sn750 did not like my hardware which is why the upgrade. The 970 evo works like it was meant to be there.
In terms of self cooling. This is the only drive that I have found that has a copper cooling bad under the memory chips. Kudos Samsung!
