This drive will work to its max potential on the gen3 bus as expected. So far mine has gone faster than advertised at 3.6gbps which I don’t even know if I can believe however it works great! If you are going to shadow copy your drive make sure you check your bootmgr in windows. Whatever volume # is listen for your c:\ drive use that number. If it’s the same then no need to change. I have a gigabyte motherboard and the “windows boot manager” shows up as blank because of this and will not allow me to boot to this drive because of my windows installation having the wrong volume number in bootmgr. Took a while to research this. OEM’s may not suffer from this however if you have a custom build, this will correct the issue. Point is, this drive works at its advertised speeds and then some. It also does not suffer from the same firmware issues as the 980 pro drive. The 2tb chip most likely will have the same controller as the 980 pro drive instead of it’s original phenix controller. Regardless, both versions work beautifully! I use this one in my plex server, steam server, and gaming rig. So far so good and all 3 work as advertised in terms of speed. The WD sn750 did not like my hardware which is why the upgrade. The 970 evo works like it was meant to be there. In terms of self cooling. This is the only drive that I have found that has a copper cooling bad under the memory chips. Kudos Samsung!

I bought this for my B450M-A motherboard. It works very smoothly and improved performance on my computer by a lot. My programs open faster and files download faster. The Samsung Magician program doesn’t work very well for transferring, so I’d recommend just doing it manually or starting clean. However, it works for everything else just fine.

Glad i took the bestbuy employees advice and purchased this M.2, fast, easy to install, and with 2tb you got nothing to worry about for a while, i have 2 sim racing games, Call of Duty, Gears of War 5, Halo, and numerous other big download titles installed and still have over a Tb left of storage

One of the best products I ever used I bought a couple of these back in November. I mainly run games and a couple map projects, but for the cost these gen 3 drives are insane and well worth it. The Samsung Magician software and the cloning software make it extremely easy to clone your boot drive into these. 100% Highly Recommend.

First ssd internal ive bought, had to buy an adapter. Seems to work but probably i needvto upgrade my who cpu toball ssd. Faat speeds but not as much storage as regular hard drives. But then again ssd is much more reliable and faster. Id buy more.
