Excellent home workstation boot drive

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this as the boot drive in my recently built PC (Ryzen 3700x, 32gb 3200mhz, Sapphire Pulse 5700xt). This moves an incredible amount of data. Once my computer passes bios, screen blinks and it's the Windows login splash page. Video games also have very few, if any, loading screens. Even though my motherboard supports PCI-E 4.0, the value was too great. PCI-E 4.0 nvme drives are still much more expensive. I can sacrifice a few seconds on larger file transfers (10gb+) if need be. And I do mean seconds.

Service coverage ended, an so I figured why not. I Was generally aware of the benefits SSD provide over disks, but I was and still am shocked at how much of a difference replacing my 1TB HDD with this SSD made. Any thought I had of looking for a new laptop in the next 2 years is gone. If you decide to replace a HDD and have never done this like i hasn’t, DO YOUR HOMEWORK. (Know what Bitlocker is and if your current HDD is encrypted).

Super Speed for Alienware or USB Xbox

I've seen all makes of drives fail over the years. but not a Samsung SSD unit. (Knock on Wood!) This one is blinding fast in an Alienware Laptop! Also put one is a USB case use with an Xbox external Drive. Load times in some games have been cut well in half compared to the slow 5400 spinner the Xbox uses.

Put them in your laptops and desktops alike. Update the firmware and they are totally worth the money spent, also fairly inexpensive for cheap fast storage. I have a Dell 3501 with this drive and an 870 Evo that someone at Dell thought they could have got away with stealing. Perfect Drive.

Best choice for boot drive

Obviously I'd rather not have to replace a failing part, but I'm glad that I was able to grab a solid sales price for this model, which is topping all the recommended lists right now. Online ordered with one hour curbside pickup and it couldn't have been more convenient or gone more smoothly.

Nice fast NVMe drive at a good price for Samsung

Cloned and upgraded my Acer AN515-44 laptop (installed in the 2nd M.2 slot and turned off the original Hynix SSD in the bios) with no issues. Never have had a problem with Samsung SSDs and don't expect one with this NVMe drive. 5 year warranty. Got it on sale which made it even better. If you're going to load many large games I recommend going with the 1TB version but that one is approx. twice the price (as of 3/18/21). Recommended.
