I purchased this drive to upgrade the OEM boot drive in my Lenovo P50 laptop. The speed benchmarks I ran showed a sequential read of 3500 MB/s which is faster that a standard 970 EVO but not by much. The main issue I found with this drive is that it tended to run hot when installed in my laptop. The heat concern went away when installed in my PC due to better cooling. If your laptop has good cooling you may be fine. This is typical Samsung quality and a good drive for the money.

The 970 EVO Plus is more affordable than ever, and will run like a champ the vast majority of the time. Even when it drops out of cache, 850MBps isn't going to cause you much buyer remorse. If you want something better than bargain-basement (which is still pretty fast in the grand storage scheme), the the 970 EVO Plus is what you're looking for.

Great little SSD! Very reliable, durable, fast and easy to install.

I've bought many Samsung M.2 SSD's. They've all been flawless and super fast. Five to six times faster than a regular SSD drive. In fact, they're all I buy now for my Operating System because they've become reasonably priced and most newer motherboards support M.2 onboard. If you've never bought an M.2 SSD, I highly recommend the Samsung's! Just be warned, you'll get spoiled with how fast they are and want them in everything!

The drive was easy to install. It required nothing from by motherboard or Bios. Just started working, Used Windows 10 Disk Management to initialize then set the drive letter I wanted and then formatted it. Working great as boot drive on a MSI Z390 Gaming PRO Carbon AC motherboard in the M2_1 slot with an Intel i7 9700 processor, You just can't beat Samaung SSD Drives.....................

If you're looking to speed your computer then this is the best option. I have one in both laptops and no complaints on the performance at all!! The only negative to this item is that it doesn't include software to clone your existing hard drive to the 970 EVO SSD. Some other brands do include the software; however, from my experience their performance is not up to par with the 970 EVO SSD...

It has very good quality and is redeuced to very low price now. If you dont need top of the line/newest generation SSD, this is a very good and reliable alternative option.

After having numerous blue screen and "boot drive not found" error messages, I brought my laptop to the Best Buy tech team and they diagnosed the failed hard drive and replaced it with this one. It is a relief to have a fast and reliable laptop again.

Love this SSD Drive. Solid drive with superior performance. Want your computer to boot crazy fast, buy one of these drives. Make sure your motherboard supports it before you purchase. They can also be a bit annoying to install if your board has it situated under your graphics card. I've bought a few of these for different machines and have been very happy with them.

This was my first NVMe M.2 drive, I bought 2 actually the 250gb and a 500gb. I'm using the 250 for boot OS, and 500gb for games. I was using 2.5 Sata III ssd drives with an average of 550mb/sec read_write speeds before. I just ran Samsung Magician Perfomance Test on the 500gb drive, and got 3,513mb/sec read 3,276mb.sec write, and that's with other programs running in the background. Couldn't be more happy with my purchase.

Stupid fast. This thing took my pc to speeds that make me wait on my friends to load. Not only is it super fast it's also reliable, I've had zero issues so far and look forward to a long uninterrupted future with it. I recommend using it as a boot drive. MY only complaint is the price continues to drop on these so I feel as though I overspent when I bought mine.

Samsung SSD NVME drives are amazing the speed and performance you get from them are unmatched. You cant go wrong when buying one of these drives.

High quality and fast SSD. I cloned my OEM 250GB SSD to this 500GB SSD. Used Macrium Reflect software to clone the drive and Mini-Tool Partition to extend partition to utilze the entire 500GB drive. Drive worked perfectly when installed in place of original 250GB SSD and is very fast. Sale price at BestBuy was excellent; I highly recommend this drive.
