I use this one for the OS and programs and usually a 1 or 2 TB for storage drives. Noticable faster than 2.5" SSD's which is great for picture and video editing.

Same SSD with different controller

I found out they had the newer controller and returned the ssd as I wanted the old configuration. Nothing is technically wrong with the newer controller as it’s the same from the 980 ssd however the cache operates differently on the new controller.

SSD drive

There have been no issues of concern with the new drive. The failure of the drive it replaced has put us on notice to be more diligent at having backup for files we wish to save. Even though there are no moving parts in an SSD doesn't mean it can't fail, though generally they have a lower rate of failure and last longer in my understanding.

I love the included software to migrate and the app for health... nice touch. My only wish is for a samsung 4.0.
