Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buys wanted $200 bucks to upgrade my 256GB M.2 card so I saw this and picked up 500GB for my old laptop whose motherboard would only support this amount. After downloading Samsung software I was able to clone my drive, took out old drive and installed this. After switching boot drive it started right up. I had to tweak it just a little but my old laptop got a new life and 325GB extra space. It boots up super fast and when shutting down it will go off quickly. Everything is faster now so I'm happy. FYI the $200 for upgrading did not include M.2 card!

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The product is excellent, the CrystalDiskMark validated and the read/write speed. Migration was painless using EaseUS Partition Master and I didn't need to format it, although it was seen by the application as unallocated. EaseUS did format it automatically along the course of the transfer from the Sata SSD, which now will be used as a back up. One notable exception is the heat that this drive generates. Using application monitors like CPUID HW or CrystalDiskInfo will tell you the various temperature variances as you put the drive into a performance benchmark. I also use a Raytek laser to confirm the readings. Anyway, I finally decided to put a copper based Swiftech ram sinks on top of the controller and the memory chips that help ease and stabilize the temperature spikes. Another issue that confounded me was when I tried to register the product with Samsung's website. I don't know if Best Buy is using refurbished products or not but it came with a brand new unopened box. Samsung's response was "Looks like your product has already been registered, ....". and that's a bit perplexing. But heck, I'm not going to worry about it, for the money that I spent, the cost/benefit was within my tolerance.

Samsung’s Magician cloned my 256 GB SATA SSD to this 500 GB M.2 in less than 10 minutes. No fooling with partitions, no problems with making it bootable, no work at all. The software did it all automatically. I removed my old drive and restarted the computer. Everything worked the first time. Amazing. Don’t worry if Windows 10 doesn’t recognize the new drive. Just download and run the software. It will be taken care of. Wow. The price was $80. Worth every dime.

Well,that SSD lasted for two months before failing on Thanksgiving 2019. This thing is fast. My brand new computer does not know how to act with this SSD installed instead of the one I had or the HDD that shipped with the computer. Get it, go on Samsung's website and get their software. For right now, this is computer nirvana...

Another thing is this Samsung Evo Plus runs 5-7c cooler than a WD sn750 so that's a huge bonus. The Features are great which include TRIM, samsung migration tool, etc.
