Far exceeds my expectations. 2tb for the price is unbelievable and is one of the best to get to upgrade memory on the ps5 slim. Super great product.

I completed a new PC build recently and originally purchased the Samsung 970 (which is for PCI-E 3.0 motherboards). Well I realized my new motherboard is compatible with PCI-E 4.0 hardware so I swapped it out for this 980 instead. Don’t get me wrong the 970 is still a great option, but the 980 is way faster. I highly recommend this SSD, make sure you shell out the cash for the 2 TB if you are planning on using it for gaming, otherwise, the 1 TB should suffice. Remember this is only compatible with PCI-E 4.0 slots. Enjoy!

I love these SSDs, I run two in my desktop two in my laptop and another in my PS5. I have performed flawlessly and are super fast. I highly recommend Samsung SSDs

So far my purchase sometime ago while I was on beta for PS5, I haven’t had any issues even installation was pretty simple this was my first time hands on with these kinda things so be careful! Lool reads are fast and pretty much accurate I don’t have photos currently but my PS5 games pretty much run smoother and slightly faster then the SSD that’s in the hardware already, so far I have my big PS5 Hits on the hard drive and still have about 1.16 TB still and my Indies actually installed on the console for the extra room :)! This product increased the internal storage of my PS5 to what it should have been when they produced the PS5. Easy to install and use, works flawlessly and the speed is outstanding…better than factory ssd that comes in the PS5. I use this as my default install location for all my games and apps.

I haven't written a review for anything in a long time but today I decided I would review this SSD. First, I love it the speed is top notch it use to take seconds now it takes milliseconds for my computer to do what I want. The storage, plenty for my gaming and running applications, VM's. I gonna get another one today.

Fast speed and good performance. Since it tends to generate heat, it is recommended to use a heat sink.

Works as expected. It is fast and reliable and Install was easy.

Very happy with my first and only nvme drive, installation was quick and easy on my msi b550 motherboard, I was able to move all of my games onto the drive quick and easy with steams management tools, the drive is noticeably faster than my solid state drive that currently is my operating system drive! Will definitely consider getting another to upgrade that ssd later on !

No lie.. Wanted the best so I did it! I wanted my new PC to 100% run off PCIe Gen! Yes yes I know things about PCIe and it's reliability. but... This SSD is so fast! I love it. All my games, programs and my pc life runs off 980 Pro 2TB! Thank you for making an awesome SSD in our time.

What you would expect from a high end Samsung SSD. It is fast, stable and a pair in Raid-0 give me the much needed space I needed. Games and digital photos just keep getting bigger, meaning I need more and more hard drive space. There seems to be a speed increase over the original Dell SSD it replaced, of course I didn't run speed test to verify.

Fast and responsive ssd drive you can get on the market. I would've went for the 990 pro but forbthe price of $119 on BF it was well worth it.

Got this at a crazy good sale price. Was running a secondary HDD for all of my games because game file sizes are so big nowadays. Switched to this drive and have had no issues. A lot of the lag and stuttering is gone and I have more than enough space for multiple AAA games without stressing over storage space on my main SSD.

Does what it should! I've only had it a few months now, but it's plenty fast for the application. Using it in an NVMe slot right next to a GTX 3090 and even on my hottest games doesn't go much above 60* without a heat sync. Not usually a fan of bloat-ware but Samsung Magician is really handy.

At the time of its release, this was one of the faster Gen 4x4 NVMe drives. It has since been eclipsed in the Gen 4 space, but to be honest, you probably won't notice much of a speed difference for anything Gen 3x4 or above. Sadly, there was a recent firmware update that caused reliability/lifespan issues with the 980 Pro and 990 Pro. Make certain you install the Samsung Magician software and update the firmware to the latest version. Unless you need every scrap of storage space, I would suggest turning on Over Provisioning, as this will extend the lifespan of your device. I would recommend against using Full Power Mode. This will probably increase the heat for a performance increase that you're unlikely to notice in practice. This is a gen 4 NVMe device. If your motherboard doesn't have a built-in heatsink, I would suggest getting a third-party heatsink and using it with this device. You don't really need heatsinks with Gen 3, but it's recommended for Gen 4 and above.
