Needed new SSD for computer running 450 ASrock mother board! Let me tell you this thing is worth your money! This thing is significantly faster than the other Samsung drivers I have used. The overall storage space is amazing and how fast it helps start my operating system.

At the time of its release, this was one of the faster Gen 4x4 NVMe drives. It has since been eclipsed in the Gen 4 space, but to be honest, you probably won't notice much of a speed difference for anything Gen 3x4 or above. Sadly, there was a recent firmware update that caused reliability/lifespan issues with the 980 Pro and 990 Pro. Make certain you install the Samsung Magician software and update the firmware to the latest version. Unless you need every scrap of storage space, I would suggest turning on Over Provisioning, as this will extend the lifespan of your device. I would recommend against using Full Power Mode. This will probably increase the heat for a performance increase that you're unlikely to notice in practice. This is a gen 4 NVMe device. If your motherboard doesn't have a built-in heatsink, I would suggest getting a third-party heatsink and using it with this device. You don't really need heatsinks with Gen 3, but it's recommended for Gen 4 and above.

These are my go to cards for SSD's. The Samsung cards are. the best. fast reliable and compatible with everything even in the most demanding environments. If it's gotta work this is what you need.

Got this for my new laptop that had an empty slot for a second drive. I put pretty much all my games on it and I've had no issues. Download speeds are fast and in game there's no issues at all. Exactly what you'd expect from a drive at this price, although I got it for a really good price on sale.

Super fast without breaking the bank! NVMe SSDs are about as fast as you can get for storage right now without getting something super fancy. At the time of purchase, 2TB was the sweet spot for this line. I have a partition on this drive for Windows, and a partition for commonly used software and video files for editing. Definitely takes away some video editing lag!

Pretty solid SSD for the price. I have 2 of these. One for my main PC and another for my Server PC. This is one of the fastest SSDs you can get on the market. Along with Samsung's software support for cloning Drives and overall durability. This is the best bang for you buck.

Honestly, what more can you ask for? This SSD does it all. Blazingly fast boot times, read & write speeds are excellent, 500GB to 4TB are size options you can pick from depending on your system needs. I personally purchased a 2TB version and it runs perfectly. One thing I do recommend is downloading Samsung Magician application on your desktop before/after the installation of the drive to check for any broken sectors. This issue can easily be fixed by upgrading to the latest firmware to avoid drive degradation early in its life. Sometime ago Samsung released a defective batch of 980s that would cause the drives to essentially self-destruct, but again that has since been corrected and can be an easy fix. If you are looking for a reliable SSD with quick boot times, excellent read and write speeds that can compete and excel above most of the SSDs in our saturated market coupled with good software support then this drive is for you. Installation was a breeze as well, just make sure you have the appropriate stand-offs.

So far so good. Installed in ps5. Simple install with heatsink. Make sure you put a heat sink on ssd or buy one with the heatsink already on ssd.

Fast and reliable, make sure you updated the firmware. Once it is full it loses a little speed so it goes from instant to 1 second for big loads but never chugs. Loads games and apps like a champ, never wait for your PC to think because you are ready to move to the next step.

This product delivers as advertised. Easy installation and immediate results. I have trusted Samsung NVMe drives from the very beginning and am looking forward to this upgrade in my gaming laptop. Of course, it always helps when you can get this much performance and capacity on sale :)

Samsung M.2's have always worked for me. Needed some extra space on a laptop. Just put this in the slot and 2TB of fast storage. Use Samsung Magician for more features and updates. Simple and works great.

I have two of these installed in my PC along with an HDD and a SATA SSD. The HDD and SATA drives only get used for small files and programs I don't use very often, these 980 drives are the fastest storage you can get right now. My PC only takes a few seconds to boot up, it actually takes me longer to enter my PIN number than it does to go to work in Windows because the boot time is so fast. Most games have very short load time, they are often so fast you would not even notice them if the loading screen did not flash on the screen. That said there is still software that takes longer to load, programs need to be well optimized to take full advantage of these speeds so don't go in expecting every program you run is going to be free of load times. This is not cheap storage but to me the extra price is worth it as these drives are pretty future proof and it will be quite a few years before these speeds are not more than sufficient for pretty much everything. One thing to be aware of however is that the package does not include a screw to fasten it on to your motherboard and the size of screw you need is not sold at many hardware stores. Your motherboard may already include the screw you need, but mine did not so I had to order an installation set online for $5 and then wait two days for it to arrive before I could install it. Check your m.2 slot on your motherboard to ensure it has the needed screw before you buy this, if it doesn't then you may need to order one online as it is an odd size that a lot of stores don't sell.
