SSD 980 PRO

Good but flawed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have origianlly revied this product a few months ago but unfortunately i must leave another review. This past weekend, my 980 Pro TB died mid game on my PS5. Ive had it since march and i only casual game no long sessions nor constant stress on the SSD and i frequently clean my PS from dust conpletely in and out. I was playing Apex and mid game my PS5 went black. I researched online (youtube) and other recommended to hard restart my PS5 by holding the power button for 15 sec. After i did just that, a loading screen came up in which the PS was trying to recover the data inside the SSD specifically and would remain on 67% out of 100%. I reset again and tried another two times and got the same result. I powered down and removed the SDD and my PS was back to normal. I would not get another SSD (3rd party) unless its directly from Sony and to aviod paying high price for expandable storage. I did purchase warranty and was able to return thankfully but beware and do research so this doesnt happen to you. Its a fairly common issue now with SSDs failing.

not great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.2 years old and it already failed, caused major OS corruption (approx. 20% bad blocks) havent been able to check into warranty yet, already caused tons of downtime until I determined it was the drive (SMART was reporting ok) was using less than 50% of capacity

Quality? Not so much.

Did not last long.

Dying AFTER Firmware update !
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I updated the firmware a week or two ago and on Thursday when I was booting up Windows was "Fixing" my Hard Drive. Samsung Magician confirmed through a quick SMART test that the drive has errors. I purchased a Segate FireCuda to replace it and Crystal shows it out performs the 980 Pro. I initiated the RMA process last week but still no instructions and no shipping tags.
