The Samsung SSD is also very reliable due to its high build quality. So, while a little more expensive compared to the competition I recommend spending a little extra for good temps, speed, and quality.

It didn't disappoint, but my fair warning is it may or may not be recognized in a computer. If the latter is the case, be ready to use it as an external drive.

In fact its rather very goid and Samsung has held this narket for years. For many people buying this on brand alone makes sense given the expertise Samsung have. The drive is quick, cool and efficient. But the reality is the WD SN850X is better in every regard and can usually be found either cheaper or at the same price. Samsung bow have solid competition which is great so the reason for this 4 star review is to replicate just that… its second best right now.

While they moved to TLC NAND, the write endurance is still rated for more than one petabyte, and will probably go for well more than that. Expensive, but you get what you pay for, and a 1TB pro drive used to cost more than $500.

I usually check how long it takes and on average it takes 9 to 10 seconds which is like amazing.

I obviously can't yet say if it will last longer but with the latest firmware update I sure do hope it will

Some 980 Pros ship with bad firmware and will die

Be warned that some of these 980 Pro drives ship with bad firmware and need to be updated with the newest firmware AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. If the drive has bad firmware, it'll lock itself in "read only" mode and the drive is basically bricked. It's a known issue with Samsung, so save yourself some time and do this first if you want a 980 Pro!

Samsung is providing firmware upgrade from time to time to optimize our product better and to fix bugs reported. It is highly recommended to upgrade your firmware of drives, because it can minimize the possible failures and optimize your SSDs performance.

I see the 2 TB version is $279.99, which is a great deal for the best PCIe gen 4 drive there is. It even improved my gaming benchmarks by a significant margin. Insane.

The toughest part of installing this was removing the PS5 cover (which was very simple just takes a little force in removing it)
