Great space extension for new laptop.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Added this to my new Alienware X15 R2. Was easy to install. Added heat sync as these are supposed to run hot. Everything works as expected. I am using this as my games drive and everything is running great from it. Will probably buy this drive again to expand my PS5.

Dell Precision 5750 Laptop Upgraded
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent upgrade to my laptop and a true Best Buy pricing when compared to others online sellers. I was beginning to exceed the disk space on my original factory PC SN730 NVMe WD so this was a great upgrade. These are a few of my recommendations, - Search Youtube for tear-down instructions. - Use the free Samsung Data Migration for cloning. - Place the upgraded SSD on the empty slot (labeled SSD2) which will appear as Disk 0 in Disk Management. - After cloning, shutdown the laptop and remove the original SSD. - Reboot into Windows and let it run through the re-scan and reconfiguration. - Once everything works fine, then shutdown and reinstall the original SSD so you will have a second drive for additional space.

Good product, questionable manufacturer behavior
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This SSD seems to perform well, but it failed after about a year. I could not write to the disk, and many files were corrupted. Fortunately, the disk was fully backed up. I took the computer into Best Buy. The tech said that they had recently received a memo from Samsung about this exact device failing due to a firmware error. The memo went on to say that sometimes updating the firmware would fix the problem. But sometimes the SSD was not fixable. Further, Samsung would NOT honor the warranty for failed devices in this case. Since I have TotalTech membership and the SSD was still within the Best Buy warranty period, I didn't need the Samsung warranty. Best Buy replaced the SSD, and verified that the new one had the firmware update. Happy ending. Samsung has a great reputation for SSDs, and the failure by itself I would not consider alarming. But I do find alarming that Samsung would not (according to the Best Buy tech) honor a warranty for a defect that was clearly Samsung's fault. If Samsung behaved ethically, this review would be 5 stars.

So fast, just blazingly fast. And superior quality
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These drives maintain a reputation for reliability and quality because they earn it. Everything loads fast and accurately as you would like, but its just quicker than you can grasp if you dont own one. Game levels or maps load in seconds, where a typical ssd or even a budget gen3 NVME would take multiples longer. I cant say it does the claimed write life because I doubt i will ever write that much to it within the timeframe they claim. But so far all of my 980 Pro drives have yet to let me down. Speeds when measured mostly live up to the claims of Samsung as well. As long as they dont pull a switcheroo on the hardware like PNY and other NVME manufacturers then this drive should remain near the top of performance for a long time to come.

I had to buy it couldn't beat the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed more storage for my games and I could not beat the price at $90 Best Buy made me buy it. All joking aside I went from an SSD to an NVMe and you do notice the difference.

Blazing Fast 2TB Storage
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With 6GB/s Read and 5GB/s Write speeds, this drive is blazing fast almost doubling the performance of my 3rd gen Samsung Evo 970+. I am very happy with the performance I'm getting from this drive and the price wasn't bad either.

Fast and Flawless for Two Years
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these a few years ago when they were the newest thing, for different machines. We needed the extra space and our HP Spectre 360s only came with 1TB SSDs. Installation was painful because of the tiny, crappy, and glued in screws that HP used to hold the cases together. I cloned our installations without issue using the then free version of Macrium Reflect. Since then, the drives have been flawless and very fast. No complaints, except how quickly we were able to fill up 2TB.

Excellent Drive
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installation was a breeze in my Acer Predator Laptop that I purchased in March 2023 at Best Buy. I have an NVMe enclosure and use Macrium Reflect to image my current 512 GB drive to this one. Although, the Acer does have two NVMe slots, so I could have installed it in the second slot and imaged it, but felt it was just as easy using the enclosure since i had it. Drive has been workkng flawlessly since installation as primary drive. Installed Samsung Magician to make sure it was up to date and running fast, and it was. May get a second one for the other slot in the Acer.

Best Drives overall
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I am not a Samsung phone fan, and prefer other TVs, I like the drives from Samsung too much to mess with any others. I have this drive as well at least 4 or 5 other Samsung SSDs of various formats in my household. I have never had a problem with ANY of them, and this current on in my laptop is notable faster than the 512 that came out. Its price point to performance and size make it my choice for anything current, and I am sure the next generation from Samsung will do as well or better.

The only brand I trust for Hard drives.
|Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can i say about samsung and their Pro/Evo line? I won't ever buy a hard drive from anyone else. Samsung has done an amazing job with this M.2. Speeds are so high it writes faster than my computer can download the file. It transfers files almost instantly and it is extremely reliable. I put most of my games on this hard drive and they load instantly. I haven't ever had a bad experience with samsung and their m.2's. This includes the 870 evo ssd. Everything they make is great and i highly recommend you make the switch.

Good SSD for Gaming Laptop upgrades
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a genuinely good ssd, if you're looking for just 2 tera of space especially on say a gaming laptop. :) Been in my computer for a year now, and no problems at all. Installation was simple, just make sure you back up everything on to a usb or look up how to do it. You don't want to mess up your systems.

Easy to install
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A friend was complaining about not being able to play any of his games on his gaming laptop and asked me to check out his laptop. I noticed he only had one drive that was almost full and needed more drive space. I’ve actually bought a few of these for upgrading storage for my husband’s laptop, my sister’s laptop, and my own pc. It is so easy to install and format. We use this specifically to hold our game files and we can hold quite a few games on this. So I installed this on my friend’s laptop and he has had zero issues since. I highly recommend.

It's still a fantastic buy!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as an upgrade to the 970 Evo Plus 2tb that I bought for my gaming laptop a couple years ago. I didn't think that a PCIe Gen 3.0 laptop would see much of an improvement on this 980 Pro 2tb, which operates best on PCIe Gen 4.0 -- I was pleasantly surprised! While the maximum speed is indeed only half of what it could be on a Gen 4.0 system, the mixed I/O of booting Windows and launching various games is actually much faster on this drive. For being only $10 more than the 970 Evo Plus 2tb (at time of purchase), it's a fantastic buy!

The best 4x4 M.2 drive you can get right now.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought two of these while they were on sale. These things are blazing fast! Make sure you download Samsun Magician to optimize these drives and setup a trim schedule. I have these installed in an MSI MPG Z690 Force Wifi motherboard. (Both in the 4x4 slot). The mother board has passive cooling for all the M.2 slots (heatsink plates + thermal pads). If your motherboard doesn't come with passive M.2 cooling, I HIGHLY recommend getting an M.2 drive heatsink. These can get very very hot under load. If you experience any sudden stuttering or choppiness (especially while gaming) it's most likely the M.2 onboard controller throttling the drive due to heat. My motherboard has 4 4x4 M.2 slots. I'm considering buying two more of these. They're that good!.

Blistering fast. Hope the brand lives up.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The last time I built my own computer I was still on SATA drives. These new m.2 drives are blistering fast. I'm running on 4 of them at the moment and I haven't seen a hint of heat on the motherboard. Each time I've added a new drive the BIOS recognized it off the bat and Windows had no trouble mounting it. I've been on them for a four months now, so no opinion on long term reliability. But so far have had no problems. If your motherboard has built in heatsinks make sure you are getting the m.2s that come without the heatsink.
