I bought this as an upgrade to the 970 Evo Plus 2tb that I bought for my gaming laptop a couple years ago. I didn't think that a PCIe Gen 3.0 laptop would see much of an improvement on this 980 Pro 2tb, which operates best on PCIe Gen 4.0 -- I was pleasantly surprised! While the maximum speed is indeed only half of what it could be on a Gen 4.0 system, the mixed I/O of booting Windows and launching various games is actually much faster on this drive. For being only $10 more than the 970 Evo Plus 2tb (at time of purchase), it's a fantastic buy!

The last time I built my own computer I was still on SATA drives. These new m.2 drives are blistering fast. I'm running on 4 of them at the moment and I haven't seen a hint of heat on the motherboard. Each time I've added a new drive the BIOS recognized it off the bat and Windows had no trouble mounting it. I've been on them for a four months now, so no opinion on long term reliability. But so far have had no problems. If your motherboard has built in heatsinks make sure you are getting the m.2s that come without the heatsink.

Bought two of these while they were on sale. These things are blazing fast! Make sure you download Samsun Magician to optimize these drives and setup a trim schedule. I have these installed in an MSI MPG Z690 Force Wifi motherboard. (Both in the 4x4 slot). The mother board has passive cooling for all the M.2 slots (heatsink plates + thermal pads). If your motherboard doesn't come with passive M.2 cooling, I HIGHLY recommend getting an M.2 drive heatsink. These can get very very hot under load. If you experience any sudden stuttering or choppiness (especially while gaming) it's most likely the M.2 onboard controller throttling the drive due to heat. My motherboard has 4 4x4 M.2 slots. I'm considering buying two more of these. They're that good!.

This card was a reasonable price and works absoulutely amazing easy install and great speeds bringing my pc’s storage up to 3 tbs.

This 2tb ssd is really good. Fast. On the ps5. It holds 50 plus depends what type of games u have of ur into black opps, apex, forthnite, etc. U will have 30. Which its still work. But if its for a child 10years and up to 13 years old. Prefect gift.

The Samsung 980 Pro 2TB remains a benchmark for Gen4 performance. It's a powerful, reliable, and high-endurance drive. While not the absolute newest model on the market, it represents a fantastic value for its level of performance, especially if found on sale. Just remember to update the firmware. It is a stellar choice for a primary gaming drive, a workstation, or a PS5 expansion.

This is my 2nd 980 Pro but 1st time replacing a SSD in a laptop (Victus 15). Installation was a breeze but i had issues with the Samsung Data Migration program. I attempted to clone the SSD and did all steps to be successful, however, my laptop crashed. Luckily i had another laptop and the cloud available to bring it back up. But now my HP reads as a Samsung PC. Read speeds are also at about the 5,000 range but as i read before buying, the SSD will work to your CPUs limits. There is a difference in performance though and will purchase again if needed.

I love these SSDs, I run two in my desktop two in my laptop and another in my PS5. I have performed flawlessly and are super fast. I highly recommend Samsung SSDs

Amazing product came quickly and almost double the performance of my gaming with this upgrade. Got it on sale for a steal making the purchase even sweeter.

Purchased a gaming PC, but knew I'd have to upgrade space sooner rather than later with the size of games and programs. Left the stock WD Blue drive in the machine as the boot drive, and installed this in the secondary M.2 slot. I haven't run any diagnostics on it yet, but just installing and moving games to it has already shown that it's a beast. There was an extra step installing this drive that I'd not had to do with SATA drives in the past. The drive didn't show up at first, but needed to be configured in the disk management.
