However, Samsung has had a bad reputation of switching the quality of their products after all the positive reviews. Sony recommends at least 5500 read speed. Samsung claims this m.2 ssd can hit speeds of 7000. But that’s a joke. Samsung’s 980 pro only hits 5500! That’s the bare minimum. And it falls short if you’re going through a bunch of load screens. There are WAY better m.2 ssd’s if you need one for a PS5. Go with Seagate or WD.

Benchmark test results may differ depending upon the system environment, host software and hardware configuration. I encourage you to call Samsung Customer Support to better diagnose and assist you with your speed issue.

Effortless install on PS5

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So the PS5 has maybe 650gb of usable space to install games, which quickly runs out with AAA titles weighing in at about 125gb. It took maybe two minutes to install this SSD in the spare SSD slot and maybe another minute of two to walk through the PS5 formatting process, no fuss no muss. Games on this SSD load and play just like anything on the base drive and you have two and a half times your original install space with the 1TB model.
