I bought this 2 TB SSD with heatsink to increase storage capacity on the PS5. Installation was simple enough (plenty of guides available online, just google it), and performance has been flawless. PS5 recognized and formatted the SSD right after being installed, and read/write data operations are lightning fast with the SSD. It's a great choice to expand the rather limited internal PS5 storage and should last for a while. I got the 2TB during a summer sales event at a good value. Outside of those events, the regular price for the 2TB option may be a little on the steep side and the 1 TB may be of better value for the money. There are other similar performance SSDs out there also at more competitive prices, but at this point the SAMSUNG 980 has an established reputation as a solid, quality choice and you can't go wrong with it.

It's a high-end 2TB SSD. It was purchased to install in an existing desktop PC that had run out of space. It fit beautifully in the system size-wise, was up to date with the latest firmware out of the box (older firmware had a must-fix error), and was comparatively inexpensive compared to its competitors, which for a top-tier Gen 4 drive was nice. It also included the heatsink. The Samsung Data Migration tool made it trivial to migrate from one drive to the other. It was observably slightly faster, which surprised me--despite it having such good specs. I ran the Diablo 4 beta and was jumping between areas noticeably faster than my friends with gaming PCs. The only caveat is that it did not fit in the Sabrent M.2 horizontal dock, because of the heatsink. I had to get an ACASIS vertical dock ($30) to clone my 1TB to the 2TB drive.

I recently upgraded my PS5 storage with this SSD. The installation process was a breeze. Samsung 980 PRO does not come with firmware if you install it on the PlayStation 5 with out update you getting about 5500 to 5600 speed which is slow.. You need to update the firmware to the current one which is '980 Pro Firmware 5B2QGXA7' after you update firmware you will be getting top speed of 6500 as i show on the photo... if don't have pc to update it go back to best buy ask them do it for you.. I AM SURE LOT PEOPLE ON REVIEW DID NOT UPDATE IT RUNNING SLOW SPEED OF 5600..

Got it for my PS5 SSD upgrade. Awesome deal and value at $99 for 2TB extremly fast reliable SSD with heatsink from a trusted brand like Samsung. The only other silightly better choice for this would be WD Black PS5 edition but it cost a whole lot more.

Alot of storage for the money. Very easy to install. Very fast and with the included heatsink its worth it! Samsung is a great product!

Best pricing and availability options after the holiday sales, best buy seemed to be the only one with this specific SSD in stock despite going out of atock several times. Besides availability you cant beat the price which comparable to others it was definitely the cheaper one. It was easy to install, format and ready to go within just a few minutes. Haven't had any issues saving, transferring saved files or installing new games on it. Very happy to see so much space instead of making deep decisions on what games to keep ajd which ones to remove. I play several games at a time so 2TB is a must. Didnt see the need to go with any other ones that were higher in lrice after so many extensive online reviews.

I bought this for my PS5, but will happily save it for a laptop / other storage expansion in the future. I got it for $130, but saw it go as low as $120 on Black Friday. Aside from the Samsung 990 Pro, this is one of the fastest and most reliable SSD's you can get. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone, especially if the price is lower than the 990 Pro and would suggest comparing the pricing that doesn't include a heatsink / heatshield. They're usually available on Amazon for about $10, but that's a last resort.

Didn't regret buying this product. It's a very easy install. Just follow the instructions on a YouTube video and you'll be fine. Took 10 minutes to install it. Games now upload pretty fast and it's extended my memory so I can fit way more games onto the system. Best part is you could load the game street from this internal memory stick. Doesn't add any unnecessary cords or bulk. I would buy this again if I needed it

This is the second drive I have of this model. I bought one without the heatsink a while ago and it runs great in my PC. It's super fast! I bought this particular one, with the heatsink for my PS5. It installed very easily, and was instantly recognized. I was already getting to a point when I had to remove old games to install new ones. This 2TB drive means I won't have to do that again for a while. In tests it reads and writes at its advertised speed in the PS5. I noticed no difference running games from the new drive over the factory drive.

This is an absolute must for a PS5, installation was a breeze. And I am now able to have all my games downloaded and ready to play. The price point on this one was also great. Totally worth it. I highly recommend. I’ve had it for a little bit over a year had it has worked flawlessly.

What can i say besides thos was an amazing buy. Was getting frustrated by the lack of hd space on the ps5 and decided to bite the bullet and install. Installation was super easy and the performance has been amazing. Ive downloaded roughly 20 games and still have plenty of rooms for others. Glad i waited for the price to come down though. Didnt think there was a lot of value initially but i see the value now that i have it installed.

Bought this for my PS5, also got one for my brother's PS5. Works well, no issues installing in the system. Fits perfectly in the console. I have 2 of the 980 Pros (no heatsink) running in my computer so I knew these drives were fast when I bought them. It's a decent amount of space for a PS5, I do wish they came in a higher capacity though but such is life. If you want a fast drive for your PS5 or other devices this is the way to go. Yes its a bit pricey but if you can get one do it.

Installation was a breeze. PS5 recognized the drive without a hitch. Installed about 1TB of games this far and it has been performing flawlessly this far. As most others, I am getting just shy of 6500 MB/s read speeds. You cannot go wrong with this drive in your PS5. My only wish was that I could afford a 4TB drive since I have already filled up half the capacity of this drive.
