Used this for an OS and cloned it via magician. Took less than a minute from a 500gb 980 pro. After installing double check to make sure its on the newest firmware. I bought a few 2tb 990s and they were already installed with the newest firmware. Hopefully they have fixed the issue with some people reporting them dead after awhile. The speed is good for a 1tb sized (compared to the higher space drives). In magicians peformance benchmark it did 6453/6345 read/write. My 990 2tb's are 6989/6978 read/write . I stayed with samsung cause I already have 980 evo and 850 evo ssd. So far so good.

This SSD is the best storage ive ever had letting me stream my games at high speeds with no problems.

I initially bought Crucial - P510 1TB Internal SSD PCIe Gen 5 as expansion for my son's college laptop because it was less expensive and more recent tech (Gen5) than other brands with similar capacity. After buying, I was researching fit and found that while the laptop is compatible with GEN5, it will not make use of the enhanced features and will actually generate extra heat vs. a Gen4 alternative. This may not apply to you, but after researching I bought this Samsung - 990 PRO 1TB Internal SSD PCle Gen 4x4 NVMe for $30 more. It was easy install (found I didn't even need heat shield) and works quick/great.

Samsung SSD drives continue to set the standard for all other companies to follow. I never have any issues with them, and the PRO models are lightning fast. I use these in every PC I've built and upgraded and have had no failures to date.

I purchased this Samsung 990 PRO 1TB SSD from Best Buy to expand the storage in my Lenovo LOQ gaming laptop, and it’s been an excellent upgrade. Using this drive specifically for games has made everything feel faster and smoother compared to the stock SSD. No issues - just how I like it. Fast. Better packaging than some, which is good to protect the product, and re-use if you are replacing a drive. Not that you need it, unless it's for a warranty, but the manual is unreadable because of print size. They would do better to simply include a note with URL to get it, but maybe this is a legal issue.

It’s compact and runs like a champ. It’s easy to install and the self installation instructions are simple and organized. I recommend this product for any PC. Great comparability across the board for any motherboard manufactured to date.

Got a few of these to run in raid, they RIP! So far solid, been a crucial guy for years, stable reliable but this samsung tech might have an edge.... it was a hard switch but i think the samsung memory wins....

Very fast, no temperature issues so far. Got it at a good price as well when I purchased - though off sale there are definitely cheaper, competitive drives. Been using it as a replacement for my main drive, and boot times + games have been loading very quickly. I will also say, though I have not RMA'd or requested support for this drive, I had an issue with an old 970 Pro SSD with Samsung about 2 years ago and the support process was very smooth, got my drive saved and the data recovered.

This is a great SSD. After installing, please use the Samsung Magician Software to update the Firmware on this SSD as soon as possible, to avoid premature wear as noted in very well documented past issues. Killer value when on sale. My unit is as fast as advertised, but in real world usage, I did not notice any difference from using my Samsung 980 PRO. This is probably my last purchase using the 4.0 protocol, as the new 5.0 protocol will be even faster yet. Great drive to get when it is on sale. Please have a heat sink to use with this drive, as it can get toasty and thermal throttle in heavy usage, like backing up files.

Runs smooth without any problems and is easy to install

I can't speak about the product as it is a gift for my son, but I am sure it will be perfect! I will say that when I walk through the doors, I'm always greeted by someone cheerful who asks if I need help. When I pick up an item, the guys are always so eager, polite, and available even when there's a long line. Best Buy employees are Awesome! I always choose to go there instead of other local department stores because of all the positivity, willingness to answer questions, and help in every way!

One of the highest rated SSDs on the market. I purchased one a couple of years ago to upgrade my daughter's PC, and I was really impressed with its performance, so I decided to buy another one from Best Buy. I know that for some people 1TB may not be enough (guys already jumped to 2TB and 4TB), but for the main drive I believe it is enough. I have other SSDs for data, this one will just be the C: drive. Highly recommended!

Very fast. And samsung has always been an extremely reliable brand for me, as far as SSD/M.2 drives go. Literally the only brand I trust.

The solid state drive is awesome but the Best Buy geek squad was more awesome. They installed backed up, cleaned up the bug my laptop. It works better than ever.
