Got it — here’s a shorter, more casual version: --- The Samsung 990 Pro 4TB is seriously fast and has tons of space. My PC boots in seconds, games load instantly, and I don’t have to worry about running out of storage anytime soon. Super easy to install and runs smooth even with heavy use. Totally worth it if you want speed

Solid Performance and Room to Breathe

My Experience with the Samsung 990 Pro 4TB SSD: Solid Performance and Room to Breathe After adding the Samsung 990 Pro 4TB SSD, I’ve finally solved my storage issues. Before this, I was constantly uninstalling games to make room for new ones. Now, with 4TB of space, I’ve got more freedom to install multiple titles without worrying about space, and it’s been a massive improvement in how I manage my games. Real-World Speed vs. What’s Advertised Samsung boasts some insane speeds for this SSD—up to 7,450 MB/s for reads—but in my experience, I’m getting around 7,100 MB/s, which is still seriously fast. Write speeds fluctuate a bit, but overall, it performs really well. Games like Cyberpunk 2077 load so much faster than on my previous drive, which means I spend more time playing and less time staring at loading screens. Sure, it’s not hitting the exact advertised speeds, but honestly, I’m more than happy with how quick it is. 4TB of Space: No More Juggling Games For me, the storage capacity has been the real game-changer. I no longer have to worry about uninstalling games to make room for new ones, which was a constant headache before. Now I’ve got 4TB, and I’ve been able to install most of my game library with room to spare. No more deleting titles or playing the uninstall-install dance every time there’s a big update or a new release. Thermal Management: Check Your Cooling Setup One thing to note: I didn’t get the heatsink version of the 990 Pro because my motherboard already has an inbuilt heatsink. It’s been handling the heat like a champ, and the SSD stays cool even during long gaming sessions or when I’m transferring large files. If your motherboard doesn’t have an inbuilt heatsink, I’d definitely recommend either getting the heatsink version of the 990 Pro or buying an aftermarket heatsink to make sure the drive doesn’t overheat during heavy use. Everyday Performance Outside of gaming, this SSD has sped up pretty much everything. Whether I’m downloading large game updates or moving files around, everything just works faster. The write speeds might vary, but I haven’t run into any major slowdowns. It’s been a solid upgrade for both gaming and everyday use. Final Thoughts Overall, the Samsung 990 Pro 4TB is exactly what I needed. The speed is more than enough for gaming and everyday tasks, and the huge storage means I don’t have to think about what’s installed or what needs to be deleted. Just make sure you’ve got the right cooling setup—if your motherboard doesn’t have an inbuilt heatsink, go for the version with a heatsink or pick up an aftermarket one to keep things cool.

This is hands down the best upgrade I’ve made to my PC (it works great for PS5 too). The 4TB capacity is insane, and the load times are instant now. Installation was easy. I only buy storage drives from Best Buy to ensure I’m getting a genuine product, and as always, shipping was fast and secure.

Upgraded to the Samsung 990 PRO 4TB and couldn't be happier. This drive is insanely fast — boot times, game loads, and large file transfers are near-instant. Samsung's reputation for reliability holds strong here, and the 4TB capacity means I no longer worry about running out of space. Whether you're gaming, editing 4K video, or just want top-tier performance, this NVMe drive delivers. It's cool, quiet, and incredibly efficient. Worth every penny.

Samsung is always solid in terms of performance and reliability. This 4TB version holds plenty of games, and even though it's not Gen 5, it's plenty fast enough for the most demanding games.

My Son's 2TB SSD on his ASUS ROG Zephyrus Dou 16 laptop was almost full. I installed this 4TB SSD as a second drive. Now he has plenty of fast storage. Everything is working great! If you don't have a heat sink, (which most laptops don't), don't forget to install a thermal pad. On my desktop, I ordered the same SSD but with the heat sink. This is a very fast, reliable, and well-made product. I have used the Samsung 990 Pro SSD in several of my laptops and desktops (2TB & 4TB).

A solid drive, and it is still going strong. The read write times are quick and it handles loading the more resource intensive games [e.g. Starfield] pretty well. I made the mistake of getting a Corsair MP 600 ssd and it was slow and just nothing but problems. This drive does what I need it to do and it was pretty easy to move my stuff from a WD external HDD to this. A bit pricey, but in my mind it is worth the investment, and given that there is an Asurion repair shop near by, they can handle the repairs[but only if it is still under manufacturer's warranty].

Hands down the absolute best SSD on the market right now. Samsung hit it out of the ballpark with this one. A verity of storage sizes. I have three of these installed on my PC, PS5 w/ heat sink and Legion Go S. Blistering speed. If you want the best in performance then this is it. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. I recommend this to anyone who’s looking for the absolute best.

Does it's job of providing more storage. Easy to install, although it doesn't come with the needed screw - this does seem to be common across different manufacturers. It did take some puzzling to figure out how to format and access the new storage, but that appears to be more of a windows 11 weird change than ant fault of the manufacturer.

I like its small minimal design and built in heatsink with a rgb light. However a big note, it does not fit in a regular SSD enclosure. The heatshield makes it too wide. You have to get a vertical heatsink that is open. One downside only but a major one if your trying to transfer data. For me its been exceptionally quick at gaming and all general uses. Got it on sale for a very good price. Overall very satisfied. I trust smasung and have bought numerous types and amounts of their ssds. Never failed me so far.
