    Doesn't Save Energy

After reading all the reviews we decided to purchase this machine anyway. It doesn't save on water because you either have to use the extra rinse cycle or the deep wash; sometimes both. So, in their effort to save water, you actually use more. In an effort to save electricity, you actually use twice as much. I certainly do more loads because I can't put too much in at one time. So all those efforts to save energy are failing. I don't like that you can't do a separate pre-wash or soak from the cycle. There are times when I want to pre-wash or soak something before adding other clothes. They want you to soak and then directly go to the cycle. No stopping to add more clothes. I don't like that I can't control my water temperature. I don't like that I can't set the high spin on all cycles. The clothes frequently come out too wet. Which means the dryer works harder. Again, not saving energy. Why is the washer is so deep. You certainly can't load it with a bunch of items because they won't get clean. So that's a bunch of wasted space. It seems to be very tall. I am 5'7" and I can just barely reach the bottom. I did take the recommendation to fill only the outside of the drum for the sensor to work properly. This does seem to work. Pros: It does use less detergent. Considering all machines are smart machines, this one is okay; so far. Yet, I have had only one smart washer. Bottom line: These smart machines are not allowing you to make your own decisions for your tasks. Ergo, you must outsmart your machine ;)

    Somewhat disappointed

I have had and loved my Samsung TVs and refrigerator for many many years so when it came time to replace my ancient washer I figured to give Sammy a shot. Not sure it was the correct choice. Note: some of these may be due to the learning curve with the new technology. A few issues: 1. Plastic/nylon water supply connectors. They work, but metal would have been more durable. 2. Water temp selection doesn't seem to allow warm wash/cold rinse. You can make changes to the default temp but looks like there is only one temp for the entire cycle. I need to research some more. 3. Balance issues... This is my biggest issue. Machine is level and even when clothes are carefully arranged they float up in the water and get rearranged to be out of balance. Different for different loads... Bad results on a small load of athletic gear... bad results with a load of sheets and work shirts... while a load of towels spun smooth like a turbine. It seems like this is going to require checking in real time for every load.... which is way more engagement that I expect when it comes to doing laundry. On the plus side I got this during a BB $210 off sale. But I probably should have read reviews from sites that don't sell these things and I am thinking I probably should have got another Whirlpool like my old one. YMMV...

I love the capacity of the washer. It does get unbalanced at times with large items but that is easily fixed and it cleans well; if rating that I would give it a 4 or 5. And the Best Buy installers were polite and prompt and professional. But in buying from Samsung you are working with a company that has HORRIBLE customer service. A shame, because the products are nice. But the customer service is a maze of voice mail. Once you DO reach someone they are usually polite but they lie to the customers and there are some reps that are just purely rude to the point of threatening to just close the ticket rather than offering help. And after MONTHS of haggling with them my issue is still not resolved. Buyer beware.

As I said with the matching dryer, it takes awhile to know if you’re really going to like a product such as an appliance. Right off, I feel like it doesn’t clean my clothes as well as my old agitator washer. The new one has a sensor that’s supposed to recognize how much water to add and sometimes some of the clothes don’t get enough water to cover them, let alone, clean them. You have lay your clothes in a particular way and apparently I’m not doing that correctly. Hopefully, in time, I will master this machine, but until then, it’s just looks pretty and is a bit complicated. I can’t really say whether I would actually recommend it to anyone or not, but this review is making me choose.

I love the companion dryer so much that the criticism of the washer is more disappointing. The washer itself is great when in use, I haven't has the opportunity to use the single item basi nat the top yet. But what I have come across is the compartment use for loading the detergent is awkwardly placed. You have to ope n the basin to properly access it and you need to be mindful to close it before putting down the machine lid. Also, given the size of the tub, you'd think it would have a larger washing capacity but that isn't the case. As long as you keep those 2 things in mind you'll be very satisfied with this washing machine.

I bought this as a replacement for a 5.4 cubic foot model that was part of the 2017 Samsung recall. They stopped making that one, which I loved, and I needed the biggest model I could find. This is much louder than my old machine - you can hear it throughout the house. It's also taller with a deeper drum - I'm 5'3" and can't reach items at the bottom of the machine without almost getting in it and then I hit my head when I lean out on the soaking sink. I'll be saving up for a front loader...

The washer has a lot of different cycle and functions, can hold a lot of items, but is very loud. We have to shut the door on the laundry room to be able to hear the tv. Also, it’s very deep so you might need a little step stool to get the items at the bottom. For the price you might want to consider a quieter model.

I am only 5'2" and this washing machine drum is VERY DEEP. I thought it would be great for washing big items such as a king size comforter. However, it's impossible to reach my clothes after they've been washed without a step stool. It may sound funny, but I hate this machine because of this issue and I'll have t live with it for a good long time. As far as the machine goes, it does a good job.

Overall, I love the washer, but I never thought to check to see if I could reach the bottom of the tub. I'm 5'7", and I have to keep a step stool by the washer to get the socks out of the bottom. The soaking tub at the top makes leaning over into the tub more difficult to access the bottom of the tub.

    Nice Washer, but too Deep

This is a real nice washing machine, but it is too deep for my wife to reach the bottom of the drum. Best Buy traded this washer for a front loader washer that suited us much better. If you are over 5'9" tall this washer will be great!

i love that the machine has an eco cycle to save money and water. the main problem is the tank is so big and deep and I am only 5'0ft . to get the clothes out at the end of the wash, I must stand on a stool. I am 62 and healthy. But, I worry about how i will manage this in the far future.

My Mom purchased this washer for me and it’s too deep for a 5’2” person to get laundry out unless you use a step stool. It also seems to tangle clothes up no matter what you do. And finally, it also keeps water in the machine outside the drum, so I’m having Geek Squad come out.

Being 5'2 tall, it's difficult to get the smaller items from the bottom of the tub after the wash. I have to use a device to help scoop up the clothes. I've also noticed that my whites still have dirt marks on them so I don't know if its the washer or I need to add more clorox.

I had hoped that this washer wouldn't go "uneven" as much as it does, but there's no way to prevent that.
