    Don't hesitate , buy!

Let's start off by mentioning that whenever I make a purchase, I read EVERYONES review. With that being said, there will always be positive and negative reviews on products. Here is my honest review. I have always gone to a laundry mat to wash . So When me and my husband bought the washer with the matching dryer over a month ago I was super excited. I work in an office and usually my clothes isn't really that dirty, but I love makeup, so i have what i call a "makeup towel" where i usually wipe excess (foundation)makeup on , so it gets dirty real quick. My husband on the other hand works in a gasket company working with metal, oil, ect. So his work clothes is usually extremely dirty. **Review** *The machine exterior is sleek and beautiful. *Both washer and dryer have a nice jingle when the load is done. *They are BOTH very quiet, compared to the machines I have been around in. I read some ppl complain about the noise, but to be honest it's a machine, it's never gonna be extremely quiet. But it's not noisy by all means. I'd give it a 2 out of 10 , ten being extremely noisy. *The washer is HUGE, very deep as well. I am 5'8 my husband is 5'11 and we still have to get on our tip toes to reach the bottom . We don't mind tho because we know that just means more clothes can fit. * *You have to be very careful with the soap tray. If you forget to close it up and you bring down the lid , you have a big chance of breaking it. * the lid is a soft close with I LOVE! * The built in sink comes in handy! For small stains to scrub out. *Timing: depends on what cycle , I do think some are a bit too long, but the quick cycle is fast but just as efficient. Like I said I have always washed at the laundry mat so those are usually self time at a maximum of 45 mins. These can take up to an 1:20mins depending on your settings. *Read the manual, become familiar with the product. *My electric bill and water bill didn't even make a dent . It probably went up like 7 bucks on each bills. The machines automatically have settings for you depending on what cycle you choose. Some you can amend some you can't. I do NOT like washing on the "normal " cycle. The reason is because I feel like it doesn't wash well due to the "eco warm". When I first got the washer I washed my husband work jeans that are heavily soiled with oil and dirty. And the "Normal" cycle did not clean them well. So, I gave it another shot with my "makeup towel" and like the work pants , it didn't take off any of the stains or dirt. I LOVE the "heavy duty" cycle! This cycle doesn't use much water either but , this cycle works! My husband's pants were completely clean. Not one stain!!! My makeup towel didn't have any signs of foundation or eyeshadow. The built in sink actually helps clean small stains, I have tried it about 5x on my makeup towel. I think it comes in handy for ladies who have period accidents. This might be TMI but it's an honest review for the consumers, As a women we have all had to throw away at some point a good pair of panties due to our periods. The built in sink is perfect to quickly help lift off any stains and then dump it into a quick wash ! Bedding : I have a cat and dog and with the washer it cleans my beddings where there are no signs of pet hair. Both machines efficiency clean and dry big bulks. But it doesn't mean you should over stuff it. The Dryer: I love it. I typically do normal or bedding but it works perfectly. If the dryer senses any time of moisture it will add minutes, which I personally like. Beats having wet clothes when u think they are dry. Right? I would recommend buying this. I personally have used these machines for about a month and a half, and I have no complaints. P.s. I took too long to add pictures, but everyone who has seen it says they are real nice , esspecially the color!

I bought this Samsung washer and dryer set because of the great overall satisfaction ratings Samsung had earned in the washer/dryer category. Additionally, the activewash feature is something that I thought would be very useful for those hard grass and dirt stains that the boys get on their clothes. However, the washer lid is like a guillotine that falls down almost every time that you lift up the lid to put clothes in. A lid this heavy needs a hood stand or something to click the lid to stay open. Until then, you have to bob and weave underneath the washer lid. Yes, you can use one hand to keep the lid open, but why should you only have one hand to fill your washer. The tub is very so deep, so it can be hard to get items out of the washer. My fiancee needs a stool to reach the clothes at the bottom of the washer. As much as I try to balance the clothes in the washer, the washer has a tendency to become unbalanced causing the washer to stop showing an error on the LED display. Some of the preset cycles are programmed for very long cycle times which I don't like. Some combinations of presets don't seem intuitive to me and I should be able to make adjustments to them, but it doesn't allow it. I am a fan of Samsung products and liked the looks, the customer reviews, and features of this machine. However, attention to the detail prevents me giving a higher score. Samsung, if you're reading this contact me and I can list out a bunch of areas of improvement for you. I think that it will help make for a better washer.

I am one of the consumers that was part of Samsung voluntary recall. I owned a Samsung Activewash 5.2 Cu Ft Washer without steam previously. Then I received notice that my less than 1yr old washer was part of the latest Samsung recall. I never had a problem with my washer but I adhered to the recall guidelines and opted to stay with Samsung. I did however upgrade to the larger 5.4 Cu Ft with steam washing machine. I've always heard that steam cycles deep clean clothes and since I was staying with the brand, I'd go for the Steam washer. I am so glad that I did. I had some T-shirts that had a slight mildew smell when I sweat heavily that I could never get rid of. This started when I had a front load washer that would never fully dry out inside. But that's another story. I tried the vinegar remedy which didn't work for me. I smelled a hint of vinegar on these shirts and just gave up the remedy search. I retired these shirts to "work around the house gear". Won't get drenched in sweat and won't have to throw them out. So when I installed the new Steam washer, I really wanted to use the cycle on these shirts. Over 2hrs for the Steam cycle! But, my T-shirts are finally rid of the mildew smell. Yes it was a long cycle but my shirts are mildew smell free and that's all I can say. The long wash hasn't damaged any of my clothes and even tried it on my work uniforms with excellent results. Now I know first hand that this Steam cycle really works!

    Tears Clothes

We were excited about the new washer and enjoyed it for the most part at first. The only issue we had in the beginning was that our towels were taking longer to dry. We assumed that we just needed to find the optimum wash cycle. After about 6 weeks i noticed that a couple of my shirts started getting tiny holes in the seams. i just assumed it was normal wear and tear of the shirts. Then a few more weeks pass and more shirts are getting more holes and we notice our towels and bed sheets are starting to fray. My wife has said it is taking 3 hours for a normal load of towels to dry. I have verified that during a towel drying cycle the lint filter has to be cleaned multiple times because it is getting saturated with lint. This is due to the washer being too rough on the towels. I cleaned out the entire dryer duct system just to make sure it wasn't a dryer issue. Our previous washer which was a front load did not do this. After 3 months of trying various washing and spin cycles we are still having these issues and are stuck with ruined clothes, towels and bed sheets along with a $800 washer bill. We have talked to 3 different people at Best Buy and they could not care less. Their response was "we should have notified them sooner of any problems." However, these issues are not immediately obvious and occur over time. Our next attempt for a remedy is to contact Samsung. It is possible we got a lemon.

My husband and I finally wore out the old washer and dryer set we bought on Craigslist three years ago for $100. We did a lot of research into what we wanted from our washer and dryer, before finally settling on this pair. There were some negative reviews but overall they had everything we wanted. After a couple of months of use, I still love them! My clothes are clean but my water bill is lower. Hubs and I are both very tall, at least 6ft, so we don’t think the washer basin is too deep. They are quiet and both sing a little song when their cycles are finished, as well as when you turn them on and off. The dryer gets so much lint off my clothes! The self clean function on the washer is great as well to help prevent odors. Not a single issue with wobbling or off balance loads, either. The washer senses how much clothing is in it for the amount of water needed, and the dryer senses how wet the clothes are and shuts off when they are perfectly dry. I’ve washed my tactical nylon work pants as well as my newborn baby’s clothes, and each time I have zero issue with the quality of wash or dry. No snagging my delicates either! I highly recommend this set!

I was skeptical about purchasing the new non-agitator models of washers as I had experience with an LG that didn't use enough water and didn't clean well. But all the agitator types were low-end and only came in white. So after reading the reviews I took the chance and bought the Samsung pair. We have had them several weeks now and I must say I am pleasantly surprised that I don't have the former issues. I have washed several loads on different settings and they all have cleaned well. I just washed a white coverlet on the bedding cycle. It had an area with newsprint ink where I had left a newspaper and books on it for several days and a couple of yellow spots elsewhere. Washed it with just detergent, no bleach, and it came out perfectly clean. The dryer works well too. And the black stainless finish looks very stylish in my laundry room. The only issue I have is just getting used to the sink in the top. It would be nice to have it removable when not using. I would like to be able to see the operation of the washer and the detergent/ water levels used. So far I haven't used it as a sink, just tried it out with filling with water. I think I will use it occasionally in the future.

Replacing an 14 year old machine

This was purchased to replace my 14yr old whirlpool that finally gave out and I have to say, I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the features. It has a lot and I haven't fully figured out all the options yet. The bin is HUGE... I can throw like 2 or 3 baskets of clothes in there whereas my old one would really only do 1 basket at a time. My favorite feature is being able to connect this washer to my wifi and have it send me notifications! My only con is that once the washer starts its cycle, I cannot open the lid and watch the clothes swish around because there is an automatic lock. As a kid I loved watching the clothes get tossed and thrown around in the washer... I still love doing that today, but I can't seem to do that anymore with this new one...bummer. Plus I just want to check my clothes from time to time! This washer is super quiet... I can hear some mechanical noises but they're so subtle -- I guess I'm used to my old washer which sounded like a large elephant stomping around in my laundry room. Overall it seems to be a good washer... it has more features than I know what to do with and it looks pretty slick -- sort of gun-metal finish. Only time will tell if this thing will last as long as my previous washer. RIP Bessie - You dun' well ole girl!

I finally splurged on a new washer after 3 years of putting up with a terrible front loader that came from the prior homeowners. I can't believe I waited so long! This thing is huge and fits so much! I am 5'10, so reaching the bottom is no issue for me but I could see shorter people struggling. I am completely baffled by people saying this machine is loud. It is so quiet!!! The loudest thing is when the water fills, and that isn't really loud, it is quieter than a bath tub filling. The active wash sink is great for me! I have a crafty 6 year old who is using markers, oil pastels, paints as well as a 15 month old. I love that I can scrub the item on the side of the sink and leave it to soak for 20 mins and then dump it in the tub and go. My youngest has life threatening food allergies as well as pet dander and dust allergies, I feel confident that our clothes are getting clean and haven't even tested the steam function out yet! My only issue I have had so far was an imbalance issue when trying to wash 2 dog beds at once. They were of different sizes, so that was my fault. I have been able to wash king and queen sheets at the same time with no issues.

    Worst Machine

This is the worst washing machine I’ve ever had - I would definitely not recommend it. I don’t even want to sell it because I feel bad for whoever would get it. It always stops and says unbalanced no matter what size load I have in there - So a normal load of laundry takes about three hours to finish, super productive right? Also, while it’s trying to Balance it loads with water every single time so it’s a huge waste of water. I can’t reach the bottom of it because it’s so big - so if you’re short steer clear of this one. Along with that- our matching dryer is also the worst dryer we’ve ever had. It never completely dries our laundry the first time - No matter what setting I put it on - I Have to restart it at least twice or it leaves our laundry smelling moldy and needing to re-wash. It’s a terrible circle of awfulness. Just when I thought doing laundry couldn’t get any worse. If you like being tortured anytime your clothes are dirty go head and purchased these.

Say Goodbye to Front-Loading Washing Machines

We owned a front-loading washing machine for 8 years or so. It seemed like the thing to do at the time, but we quickly learned to hate it. The capacity was underwhelming and the door ALWAYS had to stay open to minimize the moisture and build up in the front ring. When we replaced our washer and dryer 2 years ago, we purchased a white version of this washer in the model just below this (no WiFi). We loved it so much (SOOOO many clothes to fit in this thing and the top soaker/scrubber section is amazing!!) that we purchased it again in black and with the WiFi. Samsung has had problems with the connectivity of the WiFi in its models 2018 and older, but this seems to fixed now with an integrated WiFi chip (previously a separate card, very problematic and unreliable). The black finish looks luxurious and this washer has some really great features and flexibility (several steam functions!).

I really like the installed sink for pretreating and soaking, but this washer has two significant flaws that make me wish I purchased a different washer. The first flaw is that this washer struggles with large items like blankets. It will repearedly go off balance then refill with water to try to rebalance and then during the alin part of the cycle go off balance, it will repeat this until it no longer is off balance during the spin cycle. However this can take many attempts which means hours and lots and lots of water. I almost always have to go up, manually reshuffle the wet linens and hope that it works. The other major flaw is its smart features. They only are active if you press the button on the machine to activate them everytime you do a load. Also the samsung smart things server is very erratic to the point that I dont use this feature often, better to get the cheaper non smart version, and one that can do blankets.

So Far a Great Washer, Good for Big Loads

So far I am very happy with this washer; that being said, I've only had it for a little over a month. Everything I put in it comes out clean - it does a much better job than my old washer in removing stains and dirt and spinning the wash drier (so when it goes in the dryer, the dryer doesn't have to do as much work). I haven't used all of the cycles, the electronic interface or the top "sink" portion yet. But I'd give it 5 stars for what I've asked it to do. I hope it lasts a while. Two words of caution on this washer though - First, it is very deep and will do very big loads of wash. If you are a small person, you are going to struggle to remove the wash from the bottom of the washer. Plus you better have a large capacity dryer to dry what comes out of the washer LOL. Second, I have bumped my head on the washer bowl a few times when removing wash - not a big thing as I've learned to duck now.

I am upgrading my 8 year old front load samsung washer with this beauty. Let me start by saying I was VERY skeptical about buying another Samsung washer and dryer due to the horrible customer service experience I had with the last machine. The last machine was VERY loud. We had it stacked and used it side by side and the noise was terrible when this thing went into spin mode, and didn't clean the clothes really well. THIS machine is so quiet. I washed a large load of bath towels and heard nothing during the spin cycle. There is so much space in the washer. I used the wrinkle release mode on the dryer and took out all of the wrinkles in my kids' school clothes. Good by Sunday ironing. So far, I am very happy with this set. The only negative thing I will say is that it is not really fingerprint resistant. But that's not a big deal.

My review is on my experience so far. I had the washer and dryer installed march 6 and it us now march 25. It worked fine for the first week and a half. Then it it started giving ur and ub errors. Saying it was unbalanced. I thought it was strange washing sheets and becoming unbalanced when I was told it would have not problems with king sized comforters. Ok the first time just getting used to it. Now it will do it if I wash 6 bath towels everytime. I find it hard to believe that it cant handle a handful of towels. Tonight I tried washing a load of my toddlers clothes and gave the same error. It has been less than a month and already issues. I have to call bestbuy in the morning to see if it was an install issue or a machine issue. If it is a machine issue I will be asking for a new machine probably different brands reading all the other reviews.

Hey there, Justin. I completely understand how frustrating this must be for you! There are several potential causes for an error code to display on your washing machine, however, often times an unbalanced error shortly after installation implies that the unit is not properly leveled. For further clarification, check out this link that explains all possible error codes and also provides ways to fix and prevent them (http://bit.ly/2GsUweI). I hope you find it beneficial and want to thank you for being a Samsung customer. ^Lo Samsung

We have been using the unit for about a month and everything has worked as expected. The only issue I have has was with the leveling. I thought it was "good enough" when I installed it but found out after a few loads would not spin correctly. The issue was mine, not the washer because I forgot to do the calibration step. Once I went back and made a minor adjustment using the technique outlined in the manual and ran the calibration step everything worked fine. My install is in an older house on the second floor where the floor could use a bit of stiffening. We haven't had any noise of bouncing issues. Laundry seems as clean or cleaner as it was with our older Samsung front loader in much less time. I also use the Samsung app with great success. I only use it to tell me when the load is complete so I haven't run into any of the issues I have read about on line. Overall great washer that Best Buy had on a super sale so we are very happy with it.

I had to send back the LG front loading washer/dryer set I originally ordered because the door on the washer opened the wrong way so I would have had to lift the wet clothes over it to put them in the dryer. I actually specified which way I wanted the door to open when I bought the dryer. Little did I know manufacturers no longer offer that option. All front load washers open to the left (facing the machine, to the right if you are the machine). Add to this that the machines were sitting way out in the middle of my small laundry room because of the cumbersome venting connector that was required for installation. Luckily for me the Best Buy customer service person who answered the phone on Easter Sunday(!) helped me trade them in for a set with a top loading washer which completely solved the problem. And these machines are wonderful! I love the simple lines and all the washing choices, especially the "brilliant whites" cycle. I haven't yet used the "delicates tray" on top but It's good to know I have it if and when. Samsung has never disappointed me.

This does a better job cleaning clothes than the LG HE Top Load it replaced. It is a little bigger but seems a lot bigger. The settings are pretty easy to use, but I do not like the Eco Settings. they have done a good job regarding waterproof loads, and it doesn't get unbalanced as much as the LG, but also can take a very long time to 'self fix' unbalanced loads, fill with water, spin, fill with water spin, each time adds about 20 min to the load. There are 3 big negatives with the design. the built in sink is so big that it is easy to hit your head when you are reaching in to pull clothes out, which caused the lid to close on you. The built in sink blocks the view of the clothes, so what is the point of having the clear view in the lid. and the washer is so deep that it is hard to reach all the way to the bottom of the washer.

So far I don't have any complaints about this washer other than it is not the most intuitive in its options. When you set a cycle, you can tweak some things but not others. This works great except for when there isn't a cycle to accommodate your specific laundry type & you have to hunt for a reasonable alternative. Also, this washer (as well as the dryer) is slightly noisier than we expected. Nothing too crazy, unless your laundry room shares a wall with your bedroom. Then you might not want to run laundry while you are sleeping. Cycle lengths are quite a bit longer than our previous machines but the reviews have all said to expect this. Additionally, we cannot turn off the Eco Plus feature in Normal washer mode either. Can someone please assist with advice on whether turning this off is an option?

I really do love this washer and all the features it comes with, however within 2-3 weeks from delivery I've already had issues. I hope this isn't going to be a reoccurring thing with this washer, but after a load of laundry was finished, water continued to pour into my washer, filling up the tub. It's good thing I caught it, otherwise I'm sure it would of overflowed. After doing research of the problem and the only solution to stopping the washer from filling, was to turn the water line valve off, the washer's inlet valve malfunctioned and stopped working, allowing water to continue to pour. Thankfully I have the Geek Squad protection for 3 years, but I really hope this won't be a reoccurring thing. Other than this issue, it's an all around great washer. I'm still learning how to use it's many features.

So far it is a nice washer but it is really loud. I have a laundry closet and it is too loud to run if people are sleeping or hanging out in the living room. I think this is the noisiest machine I have ever seen. I don’t know why anyone would ever want to use the app but if it is important to you then don’t buy Samsung. The app sucks and really doesn’t work. It crashes all the time and you have to do that whole I’m not a robot captcha thing every time you open the app. On the positive side it is a huge drum that holds massive amounts of laundry. The controls offer so many combinations to wash your stuff the way you want. And best part is the prewash thing in the top.
