    Active wash lid frustration.

Lid is always falling closed. The lid when open is so close to the balance point the least little thing it will close. Some times when opened quickly it will bounce closed. There you are with double hand of clothes and have to put pile of clothes down and start over. Falling on your head when loading and unloading the clothes. Samsung's fix is to hold the lid open with one hand. This means open lid slowly confirming lid stays open and then load and unload your clothes with only one hand. Not impossible. Very sad and no one needs the frustration of the lid banging on your head.

Only problem is, they put the handle for the sink in the middle, so every time you go to open th ewasher, it separtes the washer lid and the sink...huge pain.

I love the capacity and built in sink. All items come out perfectly clean and it is very quite. My only complaint is that the sink is built into the lid. When the lid is all the way up I tend to hit my head on the sink when reaching clothes out of the drum. If you even slightly touch it, the lid will fall down. About half way down it starts to slow itself. By then it has already hit me on the back of my head. It doesn't hurt but it is a nuisance nonetheless.

The annoying giant plastic thing in the lid makes it difficult for me to get the soap in. Also, the completely flat top SEEMS like it would be nice, until clothes start falling back behind the washer. Not designed well for the end-user.

I bought this Samsung washer and dryer set because of the great overall satisfaction ratings Samsung had earned in the washer/dryer category. Additionally, the activewash feature is something that I thought would be very useful for those hard grass and dirt stains that the boys get on their clothes. However, the washer lid is like a guillotine that falls down almost every time that you lift up the lid to put clothes in. A lid this heavy needs a hood stand or something to click the lid to stay open. Until then, you have to bob and weave underneath the washer lid. Yes, you can use one hand to keep the lid open, but why should you only have one hand to fill your washer. The tub is very so deep, so it can be hard to get items out of the washer. My fiancee needs a stool to reach the clothes at the bottom of the washer. As much as I try to balance the clothes in the washer, the washer has a tendency to become unbalanced causing the washer to stop showing an error on the LED display. Some of the preset cycles are programmed for very long cycle times which I don't like. Some combinations of presets don't seem intuitive to me and I should be able to make adjustments to them, but it doesn't allow it. I am a fan of Samsung products and liked the looks, the customer reviews, and features of this machine. However, attention to the detail prevents me giving a higher score. Samsung, if you're reading this contact me and I can list out a bunch of areas of improvement for you. I think that it will help make for a better washer.

Hello, Tarzan. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to share such detailed feeback with us. An unbalanced load error code can have several different causes and I want to help you determine what the case is with your washing machine. Here is a link that will explain the error codes and how to fix and prevent them in the future (http://bit.ly/2GsUweI). We appreciate you being a part of the Samsung family. ^Lo Samsung

    Too many problems with spinning

We have this washer for less than a year and got it serviced twice already, because it has trouble spinning properly if loaded with bedding or other bulky stuff. I have seen it repeating a spin cycle with adding new water over and over again, until it finally stops with an error message. The manual recommends interrupting the cycle and re-arranging the contents for better balance, but who wants to stand by the washer to check on it all the time? There is a way to re-calibrate the sensors, but it worked only for a short time. Another issue is the lid - sometimes it won't stay open and fall on your head when you load or unload. I would not buy this one again.

I like everything about it except one thing. It washes well and I love the size of it. We have a smaller kids in the family and have times where Bed comforters need to be washed. This washer does the job. I don't like the lid. While I picked this washer for the sink built in, it falls on top of my head often, while in removing wet clothes into the dryer. It's annoying. Nothing I can't deal with, but if I could do it over, I would opt to get one without the built in sink.

This does a better job cleaning clothes than the LG HE Top Load it replaced. It is a little bigger but seems a lot bigger. The settings are pretty easy to use, but I do not like the Eco Settings. they have done a good job regarding waterproof loads, and it doesn't get unbalanced as much as the LG, but also can take a very long time to'self fix' unbalanced loads, fill with water, spin, fill with water spin, each time adds about 20 min to the load. There are 3 big negatives with the design. the built in sink is so big that it is easy to hit your head when you are reaching in to pull clothes out, which caused the lid to close on you. The built in sink blocks the view of the clothes, so what is the point of having the clear view in the lid. and the washer is so deep that it is hard to reach all the way to the bottom of the washer.
