Business backup computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop as a replacement/backup for my previous Samsung laptop, this one at half the price, while the main one went into repair. As someone who makes a living on a computer, running my own business, I can't go a day without one. I had no problems getting it set up and running, getting myself back to work. I rather wonder why I spent twice as much on the other one (granted, faster). It's quite similar, and after about a month of using it, I have no complaints. Okay, one complaint, although that is not about the laptop, but about the software installed on it, Windows 8. I have yet to find a living, breathing human being who prefers Windows 8. The kind salesperson showed me how to override it to the earlier version, and that is what I now use, although W8 keeps trying to creep back onto my screen. Other than that, this is a terrific backup laptop.

Perfect laptop when you don't want all the frills
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We wanted just a basic laptop computer for emails and internet. Really didn't want one of the new touch screens and we were happy to find this computer with a reasonable price. The sales person did not pressure us to buy "up" or additional items. We saw what we wanted and were in and out of the store quickly. Has done exactly what we need it to do.....even though I am SURE it can do much, much more!

Great product for the price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased to replace an old HP laptop. Great product for the price. Speed is good, large display, slim and light weight for transporting back and forth to school.

samsung product is great, windows 8 not user friend
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The computer itself works great, good speed, battery life. I got it a month ago and still have not been able to get iTunes transferred. The geek squad had me there for hours and messed it up. When they finally uploaded the music from the flash drive, it doubled all songs. I also did not get my points for being a member when it was purchased. as for recommend to friend, the Samsung, yes, the concord pike best buy,no!

Good laptop needs Light keyoard
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is good internally far as the memory and hard drive space but its downfalls is the keyboard is not light up and it does not have a disk drive. also the two finger scroll on the mouse pad is not touchy enough or too touchy if you touch it theres a delay and then is scrolls really fast as if its trying to catch up.

Great computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is like my fourth samsung. By far, samsung has been best to me and my clumsiness. I end up dropping it and falling down stairs and my dog projectileing soda onto just because she wants to sit in my spot on the couch. Anyway, they're really good computers and put up with a lot from me. This one is no different. It's really fast, get's all my work done, plays movies and games perfectly. Windows 8 was annoying to get used to but it had to happen eventually. The only issue I really have with it is that compared to not only other brands but also other samsungs, the fan is super loud. From the moment I turned it on, everyone remarked how loud it was. It doesn't bother me much now that I've gotten used to it, and the computer never gets hot, though I've had them heat up before because I'm on it all the time. Anyway, other than the fan, I love this computer and would absolutely buy it again.

Quirky, but excellent Windows 8 machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did not go to purchase a new computer - but really fell in love with this machine - the size, the screen and also the price... It has not disappointed me yet - I just cannot get used to Windows 8...

Great light weight laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop was purchased as a family laptop that can be used by my wife, two children, and myself. Both my children are younger (6 and 8 years old) but understand how to use the computers and internet. My children love the fact of having a laptop with an easy interface that can access the information that is important to them. My wife enjoys both the light weight as well as the capabilities to handle both personal and professional duties. The only downside of the laptop is the display could be slightly better and crisp. Not a big issue but something to consider depending on use. The touchpad is very sensitive which is annoying to the point of disabling the touchpad all together and using a mouse.

Light, Decent Core i5 Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Samsung Laptop. My previous laptop still works great and is still alive so I have very high hopes for this one. I needed a faster processor and this does the job except for the startup at times it lags a lot but once it gets going it works great. No lag time between windows and I use many. It looks great and the metal looking shell is easy to clean. Windows 8.1 ........ well you learn to like it and get used and besides the XP way of getting to your folders everything is the same. Great Laptop and I like the price

Big Screen, Light Weight & Great Value for Money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great laptop to buy if you are looking for a big screen laptop that is lightweight. It is easy setup and works very fast. Windows 8 is great and easy to pick up quickly. The keyboard and the touch pad are great. The touch pad especially scrolls very well. You may find the display to be a little dull because of the Matte finish. But this is very healthy for the eyes particularly for me as I spend close to 6-8 hours in front of my laptop. Battery Life is great and gives somewhere between 4-6 hours. What I did not like was the metal body. It catches dust and finger prints very quickly and these can take some time to remove.

Slight faults but still good for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this computer for school and so far its pretty good. It starts up quickly and the video and sound is good. The mouse-pad is a bit tricky; it does this thing when you slid you finger from the left or right edge to the center it switches to other open programs. Could be useful but for me its aggravating at times. There's also a way to scroll using the mouse-pad but you have to use two fingers at a time and it really doesn't scroll very well, can be lag with the scroll. I never use it any more and have switched to the arrow keys. You can disable the many mouse-pad features though. One downside is Windows 8 which is just plain confusing. After awhile you get use to it but finding certain features can be a hassle. The start menu comes with a lot of apps that I personally found useless and then there's the whole, make a Microsoft account just to access some of them like Skype. Better off getting Skype for the desktop because the Skype app is stupid. Despite all my nit picking this is a good computer for the price.

Good Bang for the Buck
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I said performance is not so great, however, for what you are paying, it's plenty strong. If you are looking for a simple work computer that you can surf the web, run a few normal applications, then you can't beat this boy. If you want to run some really powerful games, edit movies, create videos or anything that involves lots of memory and powerful systems, then don't by this computer and expect it to work miracles. This is a little better than a bare bones computer and for the price, you can't beat it.

Good little laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall very good experience with this laptop, a little slower than I had anticipated but reasonably priced for the performance. I enjoyed the size of the screen and the overall weight.

Seems fine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I am happy with this computer. I'm not so intense a user but it is so far, so good. The things I haven't liked are Win 8 related so can't blame the computer for that.... I'm just trying to get used to Win 8... everything changes, right? I thought the keyboard might feel funny but I actually like it (never had these super-flat keys before).

Keypad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this computer. I love that it has my keypad to the right of the keyboard like on a regular desktop. I don't like that there is no CD Drive and I find it weird that there isn't a removable battery if something happens to it. It is a lot lighter than my previous computer because of this though.

great bargin
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed a replacement laptop for my 6 year old machine. Seeing as how I'm working on my Doctorate in mathematics I needed something that could handle my programs and calculations without moving slower than a snail. This machine has done great so far and has been able to keep up with most every program I've thrown at it, with minimal performance issues. The only real complaint I have is that the audio on some of my music and movies has an echo, I thought it may have been the file, but they sound fine on the old machine, which has now become a media machine for movies and music.

Sleek and Lightweight
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop comes preloaded with Windows 8, which is not a great interface. However, once you get the hang of it, the laptop proves itself. Both lightweight and stylish in appearance, it also shuts down and start up easily. I do think the monitor display appears to be dim and the battery life is not the longest. A major drawback is that the battery is built in, which makes it virtually impossible to put in a back-up battery if you so wished. There's also no DVD drive. Given these issues, the price is relatively high. Overall, a good laptop for office or school work.
