The Samsung hood that originally came with our 36" range hood Model #SSNK36K7000WS did not include a hood that was long enough for our kitchen so we had to buy this separately. It would be excellent if it muffled the sound of the exhaust better on medium and high setting (it is really loud!). The only one that has sound that may be softer than an hair dryer is the low setting.

I love them. They do function as promised and looks great. BUTTTTTT, when it came to my hood vent extension (which is what is in question). For one I was surprised with how expensive this thing was, but oh well, it was a necessary evil... yes I purchased it!!! It look several weeks to arrive, and when I got it I could not get it installed because it is missing parts. Neither the hood or the hood extension came with the "Bracket" and "the screws". I have called both Samsung and Best Buy and no one has been able to assist me with the purchase of these fundamental items required for the installation of hood that should be there to begging with... so yes, I am very frustrated.

Needed 12 feet from this plus the two which came with the basic model to reach 14 foot ceiling height. The Extention kit was not designed with work with the standard vent cover, resulting in it having to be cut down by installer. Not happy with how this all worked.

Extra chimney length.
