Although I have not had time to do much with my new Chromebook, I love it! Still learning but already know this is exactly what I needed and wanted.

Best Buy was great in helping me select the best Chromebook for both my kids before they started back to school. This Chromebook met all the requirements they needed and it was easy to find a protective case so it would have a little protection from those accidental drops it is sure to have. The Geek Squad insurance plan is great too.

Samsung - 11.6" Chromebook - Intel Celeron - 4GB Memory - 32GB eMMC Flash Memory I own a top of the line gaming laptop... I'd never even used a Chromebook before, so I purchased this purely out of curiosity - I could not be happier! I've been so impressed, I'm looking at purchasing more of them to give out as gifts for friends and family. I use this all the time now... I know they will too! Highlights: - Small size makes it incredibly lightweight and ultra portable... Great for checking email first thing in the morning while still in bed. Small footprint takes up very little of the precious space on my desk at work. - Touchpad gestures are awesome! A little booklet comes with it to explain them all, take the time to learn them, you'll be glad you did! - 32Gb memory (usually only 16GB for this model, BestBuy exclusive?) - WAY faster than expected: Browsing the web, playing browser based games and streaming (music and videos) all work flawlessly... Just don't open too many windows at once. - Outer Housing: Nice textured quality, sturdy solid feel and gun metal gray color looks great! - Chrome Store: Tons of free apps, themes, games and extensions... (I recommend AdBlocker). - Battery life!!!! Get 10-13 hours on a full charge... Browsing, gaming, streaming the whole time, not just sitting idle! (Power went out at my house for over 7 hours during a thunderstorm, I watched a movie on USB and played an offline game to pass the time, still had 3.5+ hours of battery life when the power came back on - LOVE THIS THING!) Lowlights: - Screen isn't IPS, so you really need to be looking directly at it for best picture... It has an 80-90% viewing angle, any less and the screen starts to bleed out as the angle gets more extreme. Other Thoughts: This Chromebook has two available USB ports, as well as a port for HDMI, headphones, and an SD card reader. For additional storage, I recommend the Sandisk UltraFit 128GB USB (Available @ BestBuy!). Huge capacity and incredibly fast speeds, all packed into the smallest possible footprint, making it realistically possible to plug it in and never have to remove it!

I bought this as a Black Friday special and at BF pricing it is an excellent value. At regular price it is not as great a value but still a solid choice for your first Chromebook. What do I like about it? For starters, the size, weight, and appearance are all great. It has a pretty good keyboard although it feels slightly cramped but I'm not sure it could be much better for an 11.6" notebook. The touchpad works well. The 4GB RAM is good for keeping multiple browser tabs open at once, I wouldn't buy any machine with any less these days. The 32GB of storage seems to be enough for a Chromebook, again I wouldn't want any less. It also runs Android apps! And I'm pleasantly surprised at how useful a Chromebook can be and it's fun to learn your way around the system. It's certainly not for everyone but if you do not use any Windows specific apps and do most of your work online this will be good. Now for the bad. The screen is the weakest element of this Chromebook. Viewing angles are limited and if you are not looking at the screen head on, text will not appear very sharp. It is acceptable for a cheap notebook however. The other weak point is the CPU. It's not very fast but again for an inexpensive computer, it is acceptable. One thing I think Samsung overlooked is the lack of a lock slot. If you travel with your Chromebook you may want to lock it to the desk in your hotel room or at a coffee shop but it's not possible with this model due to the lack of a lock slot. Something so simple you'd think would be a no-brainer to add and shouldn't add much, if any, cost. So I couldn't really recommend this as a travel computer if you're at all concerned with the possibility of theft. Otherwise, I'm happy with my purchase and would definitely buy it again, especially at BF prices. I'm also impressed enough with the Chromebook concept that I will recommend one to my father who never quite got to master Windows and could use something easier that requires less maintenance.

For the price it's an excellent unit. It's fast, easy to setup, small,light, good battery life,charges fast. I usually have at least 10 tabs open at once, handles it fine. The only thing is my keyboard rattles. Don't know if this is common but I waited too long to bring it back for an exchange. Other than that, great machine.

After installing plex, Netflix, Vudu, 128 micro SD card, 128 micro USB flash drive, and a 4 port 3.0 USB Hub I'm all set. This item starts the OS in under 5 seconds. Faster than a Mac that's over 5 times more expensive. Oh and yes i can use Google's equivalent to Microsoft Office and have it sync to all my devices. Media steaming from my home network is fantastic. Using my cell phone as a hotspot works perfectly also when no wifi is available. This unit is VERY thin and lightweight. The battery will last up to 12 hrs in low brightness and 9 hrs on high. It only takes 2.5 hours to charge up from a completely dead battery. I am loving my Samsung Chromebook. I would recommend the 4 gigs of ram and 32 gb of storage version.

I purchased for use by my grandson. He uses a Chromebook in school (4th grade). He wanted something more than a tablet. I already have several Samsung products -- TV, tablet, (2) smartphones. This Chromebook had the features and functions he wanted. I selected this model because it had 4GB Memory & 32GB Flash Memory. Touchscreen would have been nice but they are a bit more expensive. Chromebook was easy to set-up and performs as expected. I recommend this product.

This was an awesome buy. I opted for the model w 4gb of memory instead of 2gb & was able to snag it on black Friday for $129 but even at the regular price of 179 it still would have been worth it. It's really fast & keys are spread out comfortably wider than my previous laptop. Light enough to walk around with it open, one handed. Battery lasts 7-9 hrs per charge. Seriously considering getting another one or maybe even the 2gb ram version.

I bought this samsung chromebook without any high expectations given that it was a relatively cheap price for a travel laptop. When I started using the chromebook, I was blown away. Samsung did a great job of incorporating a nice display even though its not 1080p and it was bright enough to display in different settings. It was able to handle multiple chrome tabs including watching Youtube with ease. What really made this purchase great was that it was Google Play store support ready which allowed me to download my favorite Android apps to use. The only thing that is a bummer is that the display is not touchscreen so downloading and using Android apps is a bit of a pain with a mouse. However since it is a budget chromebook, it should be expected. Overall I am happy with my purchase and it certainly exceeded my expectations and I would recommend this chromebook.

Chromebooks are a viable alternative to Windows 10 based laptops and Macs if you set your expectations at a reasonable level. They are inexpensive, relatively low power machines but very capable of handling the relatively less demanding tasks of email, internet browsing, online purchasing, reading, playing videos, etc. This Samsung, with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage provides a lot more capability than the strippd down models with less of either or both (the base model with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage would be much more limited). Having purchased it as a Black Friday special for $120, it was a very good buy and a lot of netbook for such a small price. That said, not having a touch screen is very limiting, and it does take some getting used to as basically a large tablet with a keyboard. It will run numerous apps, although many are not really optimized for it (yet?). For a child or an older person just doing email and internet surfing, it's a very economical solution (we bought this one for great grandma in her 80's). We also picked up an Acer Chromebook on Black Friday with a touch screen and 360 deg hinges for about $180, and liking that one much better, we decided that was the netbook we would give her. We ended up reselling the Samsung, but even so, if purchased on sale and with the right (limited) expectations, the Samsung is a good buy.

Nothing fancy, but very good build quality, good non-glare screen, light weight, low price, very good battery life (10 hours +). VERY important: This model has 4Gb of RAM and 32 GB of storage. Most Chromebooks are very similar: same OS, keyboard layout, screen resolution, processor speed, etc. But many in this price range have only 2Gb of RAM and 16 Gb of storage; the 4+32 machines work much better. The biggest reason to spend much more for a Chromebook than the price of this Samsung would be to get a touchscreen, which this does not have. But it has a very good touchpad, and it's so light it's easy to perch it on one palm and navigate with the pad.

I have an HP I7 with 12G of Ram but my wife took it to Europe for a month. I needed something to get on the internet in the interim to complete some classes for my professional recertification. This has been great. It has done everything I have needed Classes play great. Speed has been good. Sound is adequate. This serves great as a secondary device for me. Lightweight easy to lug along. I am still learning how to use the chrome platform that is why I only gave it 4 stars but will probably upgrade to 5 when I figure out some things that I am still confused about in chrome

I have the 4GB version and overall it works pretty well. I'll admit that some flash/content heavy websites such as "irionicall" the best buy or lowes home sites take a few seconds to pause/load. Overall this is very fast though. Pros: 1. Small, sleek, fast to just pickup and use 2. Chrome OS runs smooth, hiccup free for the most part 3. 100 dollar price Cons: 1. Keyboard size is somewhat trying since its such a small device. This isn't really a knock though but the keys could feel a bit better 2. The power cord the way it plugs in seems like a cheap flimsy old flip phone from the 90s. No magnets or anything fancy. It seems like every time i stick it in to charge it never goes in flush and might not stand the test of time 3. Sometimes you feel like your on a kids toy

This Samsung product looks well built and feels sturdy. Based on inspection of the unit displayed in the store It is very slim, light weight, and has a nice screen. It was purchased for a gift so I can not comment on the actual performance of the unit at this time. However the specifications are decent especially considering the sale price of $119. Best Buy seemed to be the only retailer offering a configuratrion of 4gb of ram and 32gb of eMMC onboard storage for this Samsung model Chromebook during early Black Friday sale events and Black Friday itself. When shopping for it I found most retailers did offer competitive pricing but for 2gb or 4gb of ram and only 16gb of eMMC onboard storage. So Best Buy had the best value for my dollar, that I could find, and the added bonus of the Best Buy reward program.

I was looking for an inexpensive laptop to play You Tube Videos, play live chess on, log into Facebook and check my E-Mail. Saw this Chromebook on sale after Thanksgiving for $119..paid a Total of $168 after tax which included a 2 year warranty. The only thing that kept me from giving it a perfect rating were the speakers which I was able to remedy by using some speakers I already had for my ipods and plugging them into the headphone jack. Great battery life..I get about 10hrs a day...You have to sign up for G-Mail to take full advantage of it but that's no big deal...Best Buy offered a free setup with Geek Squad which I took advantage of. 11.6 is the perfect size for me and it is very sturdy!

I stream with this device using Plex, Vudu & Netflix with no problems what so ever. I can edit and create documents, spreadsheets ect and have them available anywhere with Google Documents. This unit turns on and off in under 5 seconds and Never gets hot when using for hours on end. Web pages load in a blink of the eye, putting other laptops to shame on performance. I bought a 128 GB mini Samsung drive for storage and its hardly noticeable. This unit is lightweight and very thin with 1 usb 2.0 and 1 usb 3.0 slot. It has a HDMI out port and a 3.5mm headphone jack and Bluetooth too, I love my unit.
