Google Family Hub Ice Maker Issues

Ice maker failed after six months. Can't be repaired, but under Warranty. I am almost 5 months into the Warranty claim process and still have not received a check. Even though I have received all necessary approvals from Samsung. Calls not returned, delays, ignore my emails. Worst Customer Service ever. Google "Family Hub Refrigerator ice maker issues."

Ice maker loud, Bixby has a lot of issues it's crapshoot if it will work that day. All my friends and family like making the signs on it and the pictures. Love the grocery list option too.

Our family loves this fridge! It's like having a giant iPad on the door! Only negative- small ice maker. We just buy a bag if hosting people for dinner.

This is a really nice refrigerator. The stainless steel is very shiny. Also watching youtube and playing music is a big plus. It icemaker can get kind of noisy but its no big deal for me. I had this for about 30 days and still learning how to use some of the features.

Lots of cool features. The screen gives info on fridge temperature and water filter status. The ice maker can sometimes be loud. Overall nice looking fridge with no issues. Had it for three months now.

Great fridge. The screen is really fun. My only small gripe is sometimes the ice maker struggles. Not terribly, but especially trying to get crushed ice is difficult. We just shake the ice box and it clears up. Other than that it's awesome.

I was not originally in the market for a techie fridge, but this one won me over. Plenty of fun features in the family hub to feed my techie side, plenty of space and organized storage to feed my foodie side. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is the lack of door storage on the left side because of the ice maker, the shelves there are awkwardly shaped making it difficult to have them be useful for much. But this is a small issue compared to the handy features this fridge boasts. I utilize the camera and app more that I would have thought...very handy when you are at the store and can't remember if you have milk left or bought eggs last time. All and all, I recommend this fridge for anyone with a family or techie side!

The big reason why you buy this fridge is that its a "smart" fridge, and it's sharp looking. BUT - it's about as smart as a 2 yr old. I say this because A) It doesn't allow a lot of useful apps that would be GREAT - like Netflix, Amazon, etc. B) It doesn't connect to Samsung enabled TVs for TV-Mirroring in any useful way (it's limited to a very short distance and if any walls are in the way, it greatly shortens the distance even further). C) It doesn't do things that would be awesome and are totally doable - like allow you to see inside the fridge while you are away from an app - like when you are at the grocery store. These are things the salesperson said were possible, btw, and they just simply aren't. Aside from the areas where it falls short as a "smart" fridge - My wife and I have noticed that there are completely random times when it runs with a good amount of noise, which is troubling for it being brand new and so expensive. Also, it has unexpectedly and seemingly randomly disconnected from our WiFi several times - though that seems to have stopped, not sure if a software update fixed that or what but, still. . it's glitchy. Also, we have a newborn and make MANY nighttime trips to the kitchen when we have to pull some formula out of the fridge and I REALLY wish I could adjust the interior brightness because it absolutely blinds me at night and it just seems like something that would be so easy to implement. The ice-maker - ugh. . it sucks. If you ever have people over for drinks, you better be OK with 1 round of cold drinks. The tray isn't large enough to store a lot of ice, and the ice-maker is slow. 1 easy fix would be for Samsung to allow a 2nd ice maker in the freezer to fill a larger bucket for ice - but this doesn't have that... so. . yeah, ice is a problem. With all of this said - we spent a lot of money and since we aren't 100%, or even 80% pleased, we couldn't easily recommend this to people. It might make more sense to wait for a 3rd, or even 4th/5th gen version before jumping in - and honestly Samsung, add a 2nd ice maker to all of your fridges that don't store an adequate amount up top.

Good refrigerator with bells and whistles that are not what they should be. We find the Family Hub to be a terrible Internet appliance and things like it won't connect to our iPhones a major hassle. @@@@@@@@ That didn't bother us when one of us had a Samsung phone, but that is no longer the case. @@@@@@@ I cannot go to Internet pages I want when I'm cooking so I still keep my tablet in the kitchen for Internet. Not being able to tell it I"m cleaning it and having the door-open warning going is silly. Not being able to set actual temperature in the flex section is annoying and not being able to set the amount of air flow in that section limits its use for more advance purposes. The ice maker is terrible, we are always running our of ice and it drips water every time we open the upper left door. The shelves are difficult to adjust and position for changing needs and container heights. The butter tray isn't covered and able to be set to warmer temperature. Buy the one without the hub you'll be much happier for much less money.

That title should be read in the voice of Wanz (guy who sings the chorus from Macklemore's Thrift Shop). Anyway, back to the review kiddies! This frig is pretty awesome. I'ven't even really used the camera's inside to look in my frig. I've mainly used the hub for writing reviews about the frig, listening to Pandora, watching my TV (you can link a 2015 or newer Samsung TV to play on it) and putting reminders on the calendar etc. It's a great frig so far. Keeps stuff cold like a Frig is supposed to as well as freezing stuff. I had to pull out one of the shelves so I had room to put my drinks in. The one thing I don't like is the left side door space. Because of the ice maker it's very limited. I don't even have anything on that side yet. All in all it' pretty f*cking. Does what it was designed to do.

I got this on an open box deal (awesome price with minimal defects) and have had it for 9 months at this point so I feel I can provide a good review. The tech on this refrigerator is awesome and I don't even use half of it. It is always a topic of conversation when people come to my house. I love the Pandora feature so I can listen to music while I'm cooking or cleaning. Overall this is a good refrigerator. The only 2 cons are the ice maker and the lack of space for tall objects. The ice maker doesn't produce the correct ice all of the time. For instance when I press the cubed ice, I get cubed and crushed. The crushed ice is more like slush than cubed ice. That is not a big deal for me, but it may be for other. The space capacity on the inside for all objects is minimal. The shelves in the unit and on the doors have to be removed or not used if you have a 2 liter soda. I find myself laying drinks down flat rather than standing them up. Other than those 2 things I really enjoy this refrigerator.

I love this fridge as well! The technology and apps that are available right at your fingertips is amazing. Here is a link that you might find helpful with the slushy ice. https://bit.ly/2s7hPlo. Thank you for choosing Samsung. ^SuSu Samsung

    Great Fridge

The Samsung 3-Door refrigerator is probably by far the best refrigerator I have owned. To be honest, I have never owned a fridge with a giant tablet built-in to the door and on top of that, it has cameras on the inside, so you never have worry about what in your refrigerator when you are out shopping and need to know if your out of milk. Just open your samsung connect app, click on the fridge and bam take a look inside your refrigerator from anywhere on your phone. Just like that, its that easy. This fridge is just awsome. The family hub center on the fridge is just amazing. Its full of different apps, you can access the internet, play pandora, youtube videos, ring video door bell, uber, many more features and boasts a pretty nice speaker. I must admit, I am very impressed by this refrigerator and very sleek looking black stainless steel option. The interior of the fridge is pretty spacious, and has multiple, movable and retractable trays. The fridge employs a twin cooling system, so basically the top portion has its own sperate cooling system from the freezer, which allows you to set a different temperature for each section. After my thorough usage of this fridge, I found only one thing that I believe samsung could improve upon. The ice maker or the "Ice Master" is a very sluggish and sort of a messy system. It feels like it takes forever to fill a cup of ice and when you try to use the crushed ice feature, it just throws ice eveywhere. So, in short, I think Samsung should really improve this feature of this refrigerator. My overall experience with this fridge has been great and im definetly in love with the product, especially the family hub center, which by the way my kids enjoy as well.

The ability of this refrigerator is great. I love that you can get recipes right on the front, you can compose your shopping list and you can sync your phone to it so can get the list no matter where you are. You can get alerts on your phone whenever someone leaves the door open. The cameras that are built in the door view could be better. You can only see what is basically right up front. No visual for freezer or the vegetable bins. The top shelf does fold up on one side if you need room for something tall, however in my opinion the shelf space is not what I expected. My old icebox had more shelf space than this. So now everything looks junked in there. I'm glad I kept my old fridge for overflow space for taller items that needs to be on a shelf. The ice maker takes up entirely too much space. It would be better if it was in the door instead of taking up shelf space. My family love the capability just not so much the space availability inside. Not so sure that I could recommend this to anyone just because of the interior issues.
