THIS IS FOR US BUSY MOMS(AND DADS TOO)!!

When I first received the FamilyHub fridge, I was my usual skeptic self and I wondered, "why do I need all of this in my fridge?" Well, after navigating through the fridge and all it's features, I just can't go back. Firstly, I can upload my calendar directly onto the Hub, so no more endless appointment reminders or paper calendars and magnets all over my fridge. Plus a view inside option I can retrieve from the app on my phone while at the grocery store. It took some time to even discover all the options available on this smart fridge! In addition to the features mentioned, I have also recently discovered some educational components for my children! I am a homeschooling mom, but it is helpful for any child. It gives the "Word of the Day" and its definition, plus a historical fact from the past for today's date. There is also a white board where my kids can draw pictures and those pictures are saved to their personal profiles on the fridge --- and this is just the Family Hub part. This is still a refrigerator meant for storing food and my absolute favorite part is how I can customize the inside to accommodate any large bottles or containers I need to place in there. Of course my kids' favorite part is the white board and the Pandora app so they can draw and listening to music at the same time, but my husband and I absolutely loooove expiration date alerts for food, and we love that we can literally control anything on the fridge right from our phone. Finally, this is the BEST part about entertaining house guests. People just go through the whole thing and one friend even insisted to her husband that they get one immediately, haha. Everyone is blown away about this thing when they come to my house! With so much control, customization, and attractiveness this creates in my home, this is the absolute centerpiece, pride and glory of my kitchen!

I have had good luck with the fridge so far. It does what it is supposed to keeps my food cold and ice coming when I want it. the touch screen is great there are features on it I can not use because the services are not available in my area yet like the shopping app. I do love to play music on it and the to do list is pretty sweet. I do however wish that it could be paired with amazons alexa instead of the Samsung Bixby. also there need to be a way to add apps to this thing you cant tell me the hardware cant handle this stuff we just need Samsung to open up the software some.

This fridge is the future. I was excited to review the Samsung french 3 door fridge with the touch screen family hub. When it arrived, the size was impressive. After the installation I couldn't wait to play with it. I've never spent so much time with a fridge before. This fridge is wifi connected, once you set it up with the Samsung things app you can link and upload pictures, your calendar and even look inside the fridge. The "Family hub" let's you see inside without having to open the fridge. You can tag items, set expiration dates, create a shopping list and even look for recipes online. Other apps included with the "Family hub" are iHeartRadio, Spotify and even mirror your TV! You can also set the fridges temperature and run diagnostics. The digital inverter help consume less electricity. And the duo fan helps rotate the cool air to maintain the temperature inside the fridge and freezer. Thanks to the Insiders for letting me review this technological marvel.

Fridge of the Future!

If it wasn't for the delivery and return of two (2) damaged refrigerators (which happened during the drive to our home, as they went on the truck just fine), to finally get it right on the 3rd delivery, I would have given five (5) stars. The fridge deserves that, but the delivery problem, impacted the overall purchase. The refrigerator itself is fabulous! It takes some 'trial and error' getting the maximum space out of the interior, as it's not exceptionally large, but we eventually came up with the combination of shelves; fully-opened, or partially opened, to allow for the various items we keep in the fridge on a regular basis. It would also had been helpful if the door held two (2) gallons of milk, rather than only one (1), but all of these elements pale in comparison to having a fridge with the Family Hub! This too, requires ongoing use to find the best ways to use it for your family, but we're still learning new things all the time and have mastered some of many of the overall things it will do. The entire family now has the Family Hub on each of our phones, which makes it so easy for any of us to swing by the grocery store and know what's on the current Shopping List, crossing each out as each item is found. People from home, can also add items to the list while someone is at the store and not bother them with a text or phone call. We use this application for Grocery Shopping, RX pick-up at the Pharmacy, non-RX purchases at the Pharmacy, and other items that need to be picked up, or purchased, from a variety of places. Notes are also easily left on the Hub from one family member to others, and so much more, that we've barely scratched the service for all that this Family Hub can do. While the Family Hub of course added some expense to the refrigerator, we all believe it was worth every cent and we actually got a great deal overall from Best Buy on it - and furthermore, to compensate us with the delivery issues and delays for receiving the final fridge. We would highly recommend this great fridge for anyone considering paying a little more to have access to the digital applications for the Family Hub. It will even play your favorite music while you cook!

I love my Samsung Family Hub Fridge. It looks really great in my kitchen and I get tons of compliments on it. I bought it for the Family Hub to keep track of everyone's schedules (previously had a whiteboard calendar on the fridge-this is so much better). My husband had to start using the calendar on his phone which he wasn't happy about but is working out ok. It was easy to connect everything and get going.
I do like how I can look inside the fridge when I am at the store. I didn't think that was a necessary component but I have actually used it a few times. I also used it to look in the fridge when I went away to check up on how the rest of the family was eating!
I was concerned about the ice maker being small. I have an extra ice bin that I keep in the bottom freezer and just dump the ice in there once in a while for some extra. We have never run out but I like to know that there is extra and that I can just grab a couple of cubes without the noisy dispenser. The ice and water in the door are great and are not really that noisy.
I wouldn't necessarily say that the exterior is fingerprint resistant but with the black stainless finish they aren't that noticeable. I just take my dishcloth and wipe it down to remove the smudges.
Overall, I think this is a great fridge. I got a good deal at Best Buy and would buy it again (on sale-I wouldn't pay full retail price).

This fridge is awesome! I love using Pandora and keeping my shopping list. It shows a different recipe daily as well as the weather. The water doesn't taste as good as my Sparkletts and there isn't much room for tall items in the fridge. At least it has space on the side for ALL my magnets!

We got this a little over a month ago. Hard to pick my favorite thing about this refrigerator. The touch screen is nice. If I'm being honest, seeing inside isn't super helpful unless you don't have anything in front of anything else. Its pretty roomy. I love that you can add things to the shopping list from it. The ice comes out a little slow, but it always comes out.

Loved the concept so it was an easy choice when replacing all the appliances during a kitchen remodel. Love being able to review the family Google calendar as I'm getting my morning cup of coffee. Unfortunately, there are a couple drawbacks, had I known, I would have possibly chosen differently. One, this refrigerator is LOUD. It periodically BANGS and it's more than ice falling into the hopper. I've been told this is "normal". Two, I now read the user manual and to replace the water filter you must shut off the water supply first! My water supply is BEHIND the refrigerator and not easily accessed. I guess I must shut off water to the whole house to change the filter. My 15 year old "OLD" refrigerator never even required that! Third and most importantly, Samsung pushed a software update two weeks after purchase. The update has a serious bug that impacts Family Hub operation. Checked their forum, numerous complaints but no response from Samsung. So we are left with a Family Hub, the main reason for buying THIS refrigerator, that is crippled.

No one "needs" this refrigerator, its definitely a "want". I wished i could have bought the 4 door, flex zone, but it was to tall for my built ins. Love that i can send my pictures to the screen, no more magnets. The screen is bright and clear and shows off my pictures (kids) in great color. I can synch my calendar to it, so my kids know if i have a meeting after work. Keeps the family in the know. Every family member can make their own "app/page" and write memos. I like the internet browser on it, so i can look up recipes. The recipe app built in will read you the recipe out loud. Ive only used the inside camera at my work once, which worked great. I can take a picture of the food in the fridge and record a voice nemo that shows up on the screen. Dad no longer eats our left overs.
The fridge did not synch to my phone right away, i had to delete app and try again. Then freezers door is easy to open and does not feel like you are trying to pull the fridge over. However, the inside sliding drawer drags and does not open easy. The water thing in the door leaks water (couple of drops) long after you remove your cup.i gave it a 4 star, because I can't upload apps that i want like my phone. And the dribbling water is a little annoying.

Cool Tech, Ok Refrigerator

I admit I'm a tech geek and love tech. Proof is the purchase of this refrigerator. I love the refrigerator for the tech...or at least the potential of the tech.
The refrigerator itself is just OK. It's not really any better that other refrigerators in it's class. It pretty much does what it says it will do. The only complaints at the moment regarding just the refrigerator is the ice maker and the filter. The ice maker, due to being mounted in the refrigerator section at top is subject to thawing and refreezing which jams the icemaker and causes it to not work. You have to dump the lump of ice that has formed every few months. The other issue is the water filters. You have to replace them every 4 to 6 months and they are $50 each!!
From a tech perspective, it connects to the rest of my Samsung home products like my SmartThings smart home. The apps that work on the Family Hub are ok. Some have a lot of potential but they just didn't finish them. Some of the other apps have been dropped completely. I'm hoping Samsung doesn't discontinue these as they have a lot of potential for integration into Amazon Alexa for shopping list and other apps.

I had just bought a new place and needed a new fridge. I'm a tech geek and early adopter of technology, so this fridge was an obvious choice for me. I did wonder if this fridge would fit in my Apple-only ecosystem, and it really is fine. I did have to create a Samsung online account to use many features, but that's fine. I'm still learning about some of the features, but first I'll review what it is mainly supposed to be: a fridge.
As with any fridge that has 2 side-by-side doors, make sure you have enough room to open the doors wide. If you can't open the doors completely it can make things difficult trying to remove some of the drawers. The separate drawer spaces are ideal. Being able to set the deli drawer at its own temperature is great. I really like that feature. I like the water and ice in the door, as I did not have that before in my previous fridge. I don't know if it's my water or the way it's designed, but the ice that is produced is "soft" ice, which I really like. Again, it may not be designed that way, but for me that's what I get. The adjustable shelves are ok. Thankfully one upper shelf will slide away half of itself to allow for taller items like gallon milk jugs and such, but it does not really make a lot of room. That kind of forces you to use the door bins (also adjustable) for those kinds of items, but that's not a good place to store items, where they will constantly be subjected to the temperature change caused by opening the door. But it's all manageable.
Now for the tech features. The one thing I can't get the fridge to do well is display my television on its screen. It will connect with the TV (and it's not a Samsung), but the image won't display. I have not figured out how to get my shopping list created on the fridge, to display on my phone -- yet. The feature that displays what's inside the fridge can be invaluable. The fridge takes a picture every time you close the door. So next time you're at the store, if you can't remember if you have something in your fridge you can view it on your phone. You can't, however, see what is in the door bins. I've already synced my Outlook calendar, so I can see what's coming up each week or day without going to my phone. You can enter expiration dates of items in the fridge, and the fridge will alert you when those things are about to expire. I wish there was a way to do that automatically, like scanning the item rather than manually entering it. It will answer to voice commands with the Samsung assistant Bixby. You can tell Bixby to do things like set a timer, tell you the time, tell you your schedule, etc. I'm still learning.

This is a terrific fridge, but it is not very spacious inside. There is only one shelf sized adequately for upright items like milk, juice, etc. Was purchased out of box and associate said it was not damaged, just returned. Unfortunately, there were dents in the front freezer door an one on left upright door. Smart fridge feature is great, but still getting used to it.

Pros:
- This fridge was easy to setup and a 10 year old was able to connect it up with the wifi and set up the apps that included the ring door bell and other apps such as Pandora and calendar.
- Was easy to use and does all the functions that you would expect from a refrigerator.
- Works efficiently and the operation is quite
- Shows the view of what is inside and is a good feature when you go shopping for Groceries
Cons:
- Catches the hand marks pretty easily on the stainless steel surface
- I am still not able to connect the LCD using the smart things app to my phone or Samsung TV
-The cubed ice kind of comes as bit crushed
- The auto motion sensor has some flaws and it wakes up the screen without any motion.
- The LCD has hanged twice and has to do the hard reset to restart it

This is absolutely amazing. What I love about it is playing Pandora for my kitchen. My kids love the whiteboard and leaving little memos. I get notifications for updates and I am looking forward to what it will do in the future. The only complaint I have is that with the finish on the stainless steel it shows fingerprints. So keeping it clean is a little difficult. Otherwise it’s great.

Almost everything about this item is excellent. The only keeping me from giving it a perfect rating is that the ice machine takes long to dispense a sufficient amount of ice per drink. It takes closer to a minute to fill a 32oz cup where it should take a few seconds. Other than that I'm completely satisfied with my purchase

This is one awesome product. It has come down a lot in price and though anyone can tell you the added features are not necessities really, though some can serve as such at times like knowing if you have milk at home or if it's about to expire while out shopping, for the most part this is really just like having icing on a cake, you need a refrigerator and I was in the need for a new one and decided to go with this one again as the price dropped a lot since it first came out and after getting it, it's been awesome, for many reasons, simple to fun and just entertaining. nice to walk in the kitchen in the morning and see a detail of the day, from the weather to the day and what is scheduled for that day on the calendar to notes your kids can leave you or your mate to playing some music while cooking and using the speech feature to have it read you a recipe from afar while you are preparing it... again all just fun added things that make it FUN to own this refridgerator and it is so sleek looking. If I could say anything negative it would be fitting things on the Shelves themselves like milk, OJ, or such, they are just too tall and the top shelf is screwed into the icemaker so it isn't going to move up or down. so make sure you only want limited amount of tall things in your fridge and they will fit in the door but only a couple things honestly tall wise. ENJOY!

The big reason why you buy this fridge is that its a "smart" fridge, and it's sharp looking. BUT - it's about as smart as a 2 yr old. I say this because A) It does not allow a lot of useful apps that would be GREAT - like Netflix, Amazon, etc. B) It doesn't connect to Samsung enabled TVs for TV-Mirroring in any useful way (it is limited to a very short distance and if any walls are in the way, it greatly shortens the distance even further). C) It doesn't do things that would be awesome and are totally doable - like allow you to see inside the fridge while you are away from an app - like when you are at the grocery store. These are things the salesperson said were possible, btw, and they just simply are not.
Aside from the areas where it falls short as a "smart" fridge - My wife and I have noticed that there are completely random times when it runs with a good amount of noise, which is troubling for it being brand new and so expensive. Also, it has unexpectedly and seemingly randomly disconnected from our WiFi several times - though that seems to have stopped, not sure if a software update fixed that or what but, still.. it's glitchy. Also, we have a newborn and make MANY nighttime trips to the kitchen when we have to pull some formula out of the fridge and I REALLY wish I could adjust the interior brightness because it absolutely blinds me at night and it just seems like something that would be so easy to implement.
The ice-maker - ugh.. it sucks. If you ever have people over for drinks, you better be OK with 1 round of cold drinks. The tray isn't large enough to store a lot of ice, and the ice-maker is slow. 1 easy fix would be for Samsung to allow a 2nd ice maker in the freezer to fill a larger bucket for ice - but this doesn't have that... so.. yeah, ice is a problem.
With all of this said - we spent a lot of money and since we aren't 100%, or even 80% pleased, we couldn't easily recommend this to people. It might make more sense to wait for a 3rd, or even 4th/5th gen version before jumping in - and honestly Samsung, add a 2nd ice maker to all of your fridges that don't store an adequate amount up top.

The ability of this refrigerator is great. I love that you can get recipes right on the front, you can compose your shopping list and you can sync your phone to it so can get the list no matter where you are. You can get alerts on your phone whenever someone leaves the door open. The cameras that are built in the door view could be better. You can only see what is basically right up front. No visual for freezer or the vegetable bins. The top shelf does fold up on one side if you need room for something tall, however in my opinion the shelf space is not what I expected. My old icebox had more shelf space than this. So now everything looks junked in there. I'm glad I kept my old fridge for overflow space for taller items that needs to be on a shelf. The ice maker takes up entirely too much space. It would be better if it was in the door instead of taking up shelf space. My family love the capability just not so much the space availability inside. Not so sure that I could recommend this to anyone just because of the interior issues.
